djpretzel Posted March 15, 2004 Posted March 15, 2004 this track was from the game uninvited, of course remixed. im not getting into details cause 9 months ago I submitted this, I got a confirmation and not once was it on the judges panel. maybe it got lost in those 9 months thru all your emails but by then the link might have gone bad cause i had to change my login name for my DSL connection and that forced the name change of the website. so please I you can push this forward.

The main drum groove sound like a concert bass drum and snare from a GM MIDI set, with the snare panning every which way. It's distracting, and doesn't seem to serve any kind of rhythmic purpose. The piano is a high point, but not enough to save it. Work on keeping the musical ideas focused and building a more solid drum groove. NO -D
Israfel Posted March 24, 2004 Posted March 24, 2004 It's mainly the production that keeps this one down for me. The swirling panning and the massive reverb just give the mix an overall muddy quality. Sample quality is lacking as well, but I understand that that can be hard to fix. But it is cool that you mixed Uninvited- loved that game. NO
Protricity Posted March 26, 2004 Posted March 26, 2004 Go for more complexity. This is minimal to the extreme. Rather similar to original. For one thing, guitar shouldn't be played solo in quantized notes as such. Its too green. work on the overall notation complexity. NO
DarkeSword Posted March 26, 2004 Posted March 26, 2004 The beginning is really boring. Doesn't go anywhere. I also agree about the percussion. It's pretty bad. It sounds very amateurish. There's no groove, no accenting, no pulse. Very basic. The panning effects are annoying too. Can't say I enjoyed this much. NO
