Tex Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 http://8bc.org/music/Txai/Crimson+Hill+Zone/ Music for an imaginary Sonic 2 level. Quote
Gario Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 I was imagining something with a name like that to sound so much more gruesome. Ah well, lol. All that aside, the Sonic 2 sounds are all there, for sure. It sounds a little peppy for Sonic 2, IMHO, but it's still quite good. Always nice to hear Sega fonts in music - chiptunes, while good, are a little overdone . Nice work Quote
Chickenwarlord Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 The melody and harmony are a little too prog for the Sonic 2 feel, but it's a decent listen. Somehow it doesn't seem like a tune that benefits from the Genesis chipset. Quote
Tex Posted June 27, 2010 Author Posted June 27, 2010 It is mostly inspired by and The Hybrid Front which have similiar quality. There are 5 FM channels, 1 PCM sample channel and 4 PSG channels, which shows what the hardware was capable of. Quote
UmJammerSully Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 A damn good effort for sure. A lot of the Sonic 2 songs really vary so I don't agree with completely saying "This would not fit in with the other tracks". Would be cool if someone could draw up some concept art of what they think the zone might look like. Quote
