Chrono Trigger

Gato's Song (Gonzales' Song)

This went through so many revisions it hurt. I'm quite happy with the end product, and I feel that I've been able to watch the mix grow in a positive direction. I know it may seem a bit experimental, but that's perhaps what I like most about it. I wonder if anybody could classify this in a genre :3

Oh yes, I call it "Gato Does the Dirty"

Thanks.

okay...it's interesting. the vocals are cool at some points, but the mix is only 2:30 and the only variation is in the lead instruments. oh, so there's a key change. it's still too underdeveloped. also there are mastering issues, the piano ought to be quieter, the vocals ought to be louder.

actually a nicely interpretive arrangement; different style than the original.

i won't complain about the length because the guy clearly didn't have much to work with.

the vocals sound quite amateurish and cheesy.

they don't cut above the mix and the distortion doesn't seem to make sense in the context of the mix.

the electric guitar lead is pretty cheesy as well, the other instrumentation choices are weak but could be workable.

i like the variations, but they don't quite break up the monotony of the theme.

ending seems odd, like that percussive sound wasn't supposed to be there.

decent effort, not quite there, though.

It's a nice homage mix. It honestly sounds good. Post it over at the OneUp Studios boards cuz they'll enjoy it, like I did.

But... 1) You repeat the same lyric over and over again while not changing the style, which "Team Gato" did...

and 2) "Team Gato" already did this better.

It doesn't get any simpler to me than saying "Add more ideas to this homage."
