Geoffrey Taucer Posted October 11, 2005 Posted October 11, 2005 Hehe, as always, I'm happy to offer my skills as a guitarist. Acoustic is my specialty, though I've been brushing up on my electric stuff lately, and I like to think I'm getting reasonably good. I also, on the off chance that anybody might have use for it, play Irish whistle (D is the easiest key for me, though I can manage G) and Pan flute (can only play in G) alright.
Shael Riley Posted October 17, 2005 Author Posted October 17, 2005 I am proud to announce that Braincells will be featured in Akumajobelmont's Ryu remix for our project. I also got a WIP from Hella-tite. That kid is weird!
DjSammyG Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 Mmkay. Here's the second draft of my Hadoken Mix. I'm thinking about retooling it over the weekend, and then I'll prolly have a new version for y'all. In the meantime, get your DJ fix here: http://lobachevsky.homelinux.net/~sriley/Blood%20on%20the%20Asphalt/Hadoken%20Mix%20NEW!.wma I love feedback, so long as it's not flames. Any criticisms or complements are appreciated. Enjoy!
BlueMage Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 BrainCells?! AE!?!?!?! AWESOME! There is _NO_ doubt that this project will turn out completely awesome.
Shael Riley Posted October 25, 2005 Author Posted October 25, 2005 Aethurius sent me his take on Guile's End Theme; I sent him mine. Now we must make them one!
José the Bronx Rican Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 I finally have WIPs. Not much going on in these, but they'll hopefully give a general idea of what I'm after, and most importantly, I'm confident of finishing within the next two months. http://bronxrican.com/stuff/misc/jose-oc-deejayreggaeton.mp3 Deejay's theme, Reggaeton style! Another of my experiments with lowest-common-denominator club joints; just to see how well I can pull it off. No melody or arrangement yet, and I haven't decided what to do about vocals right now, or even to include any at all. http://bronxrican.com/stuff/misc/jose-oc-vega-end.mp3 Vega's ending, hip-hop, straight spittin'. Song'll be about that long; once I get some lyrics down (dunno from who, maybe myself and/or one or two of my co-worker buddies), I'll arrange.
Shael Riley Posted October 27, 2005 Author Posted October 27, 2005 Both very fucking tight. I was especially grooving to Vega but I could comepletely imagine your Dee Jay standing in for the standard dub tunes that function as background music for the Club Babylon stage in Def Jam: Fight for New York, and that's what I'm looking for.

One of the best stuff this project has so far. Let's cheer up people! We are slow, but we are rocking!
Shael Riley Posted October 30, 2005 Author Posted October 30, 2005 Just got the finished version of Bassic Kung Fu from Red Tailed Fox. Sammy's doing the scratch solo as I type and I'm PMing Moose now, who will be doin' the live bass.
Aetherius Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 I'm both lazy and busy, but I'm working on it...
Shael Riley Posted November 6, 2005 Author Posted November 6, 2005 It's November and a lot of submitters have their deadlines coming up in the next couple of weeks. I'm gonna yank people who don't come through and open up the tracks again.
Shael Riley Posted November 7, 2005 Author Posted November 7, 2005 Beatdrop will be doing Fei Long, but not in the gay way.
Aetherius Posted November 7, 2005 Posted November 7, 2005 I'm totally doing guile's end, in the gayest way possible.
Beatdrop Posted November 7, 2005 Posted November 7, 2005 WIP, potentially finished: http://www.paletteswap.com/beatdrop/Remixes/bd-ssf2-feilong.mp3
Shael Riley Posted November 7, 2005 Author Posted November 7, 2005 WIP, potentially finished:http://www.paletteswap.com/beatdrop/Remixes/bd-ssf2-feilong.mp3 Whoa! You do work fast. This is really cool. We've got some nice hard trance represenation in this. The source tune is clearly there but in an original arrangement. It gets a bit repetitive about three quarters of the way through, and I'd like so more variation in the drums especially, but it's a giant leap in the right direction so far. You might consider extending it and playing with the melody a little bit more in later reiterations too. Really, I'd like the track for the project to be representative of your best work which, talented as you are, is not likely to be something you come up with overnight--not to sound like a condescending tool. So this is awesome, and I'd like you to polish it up, sit on it for a few days at the very least, and then see if it needs anything else after it's been digesting for a little while, so to speak.
Mr. Fox Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 Okay, cool. I have some ideas. Wow, this will surely be as good as Catapult! Maybe you could try and add some ethnic percussion, I always think it sounds geat in trance tracks... Just a suggestion...
Aetherius Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 ethnic is a buzzword! Overratednession alertedness!
DjSammyG Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 Oh, by the way, I can sing, too. I'm getting a mic soon, I think, so if y'all need vocals, gimme a buzz. Also, I'm happy to scratch on YOUR, yes YOUR track if you want me to. The work is all live, so it does take a coupla cuts to get it right, BUT, I'm happy to do extra work for the project. Y'know what? Let's broaden it out. In the future, on a WIP, I'm cool to scratch over it if you want, and if it fits. Anyway, back to the point, I would love some more work if anyone wants to give it to me. PM me or hit me up on AIM if you need some scratch-age.
Slothboy Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 *looks around* The track list has lots of tracks with no names next to them... DOes that mean mixers are still being taken?
Mr. Fox Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 *looks around*The track list has lots of tracks with no names next to them... DOes that mean mixers are still being taken? Yes, go on. Pick one dude.
Shael Riley Posted November 14, 2005 Author Posted November 14, 2005 *looks around*The track list has lots of tracks with no names next to them... DOes that mean mixers are still being taken? Didn't catch the "MIXERS NEEDED" in the title, eh? But I digress; I just got a WIP from Akumajo and Braincells and my penis hasn't stopped twitching since. I'll upload the WIP here in a second. It's that hot Tokyo Nightlife shit. HOT new whip from Trenthian and his abnormally sized genitals too; I think he should have that looked at.
