Mirby Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Cool! So I can finally see if you actually look like Banon! ^.^ Quote
The Legendary Zoltan Posted September 18, 2011 Author Posted September 18, 2011 Actually, it's mostly subtitles with the occasional screenshot. It's really a podcast after all. But putting it on youtube will make it more accessible. Plus, I like having subtitles. However, there is a picture of me holding a giant axe at the very end of episode 2. So, enjoy that. Quote
Gario Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 ... so you DO look like Banon. With an axe. Also, I'm proud of myself for pronouncing everything (save mana) correctly all this time. Quote
The Legendary Zoltan Posted September 20, 2011 Author Posted September 20, 2011 Oh man! That means you pronounced it "manna!" That's crazy. The next one is about the word Uroboros. Quote
Jax Mandrake Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 The next one is about the word Uroboros. Can we first decide on a way to spell it? I've seen it as oroboros, oroburos, orobourus, and several other variations. If you're up for suggestions for the future, permit me to suggest 'chimaera'. Quote
Mirby Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 Kai-meer-uh. Or kai-mayr-uh. I always used to have trouble with minotaur myself. Quote
Tensei Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 Chimera should be pronounced something like khee-my-rah, as per the original Greek Χίμαιρα. Quote
The Legendary Zoltan Posted September 21, 2011 Author Posted September 21, 2011 That's right. I made a mistake in my post. Although "Uroboros" is supposedly an accepted spelling, I go with Ouroboros just because I've seen it spelled that way in more places than any other spelling and that's good enough for me. Thank you guys for giving me more ideas. I'll probably do one on "chimera" now. Assuming there is something to say about it. I don't want to make another episode like the very first one about mana where I just say, "It's pronounced ma-na" about three times and that's it. Hahaha. I haven't researched it yet but I'm thinking the best pronunciation will be "kee-meh-rah." I suppose that's not EXACTLY the same as the Greek pronunciation, I imagine it should be a bit English-ized because that word is kind of accepted as an English word. Unlike Ouroboros where I'll be going directly from the Greek pronunciation which took me HOURS to figure out. You can look forward to that on Saturday morning. Quote
