DragonAvenger Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 ReMixer Name: Fallen Seraph Real Name: Wina A. Kamlongera Userid: 10661 I usually sketch up my write-ups immediately after finishing the ReMix, but I sat on this one for a few weeks. So, forgive me if I leave something out. Um, where are my memories, of this one gone? Nothing comes to mind, but blood and bone... Been shedding these tears eternally Looking for Consent, I'm nothing more, than a Shinobi Lost in Chinatown, wayward on the Corner of Sunset and Keys Bad sushi within me, I can feel that factory funk...that produced these Yeah...couldn't come up with anything to say...so...throw it up on some speakers, crank it up, and let the beat knock. Hope you enjoy this one! ------------
OceansAndrew Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 I enjoyed the first one and voted yes, despite a few weaknesses, and I feel this shores up most of them pretty well, with filled out soundscapes and some more humanized sequencing. The bass and drums was good, and the beat was good. Definitely a step up, nice work! Yes
DragonAvenger Posted June 20, 2012 Author Posted June 20, 2012 I think this has hit most of the issues I had last time. I'm enjoying the filled out soundscape definitely. The only thing I'm really noticing that's bugging me is the one hard hit on the piano bridge that sounds out of place, but it's nothing to hold the mix back. Thanks for the fix up! YES
Liontamer Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Never a fan of those extremely generic electrosynths like the ones opening the track. Good stuff with the piano that came in much later on at 1:46. Whoa. Bass at :14 is definitely loud, but sounds rather muddy. The bass being so beefed up fills out the soundscape some, but the overall mixing sounds needlessly lossy. Would love to hear that tweaked a bit. You can have that beefy punch to the bass while clarifying the other instrumentation. That said, the annoying electrosynths only were a big issue in the beginning. This one's on the lower tier of what I could pass, just being transparent, but ultimately the sound quality was barely serviceable enough and the arrangement was solid, which carried it. halc Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 definitely agreeing with Larry re: vanilla synths, which I thought were kinda problematic throughout the track, not just particular to the intro. however, this was definitely a good step up from the last iteration of this track. still pretty close, but I'll take it.
