42 Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 Bear with me on this. I've always assumed the Aperture Science Facebook page was just a page some fan had created but then they posted this: http://www.facebook.com/ApSci/posts/10150923205900605 Which leads to this: http://www.blappeture.com/ That's clearly Cave Johnson, so what do you think? Also, the Portal 2 dlc was released today. Possibly a follow up to that. Quote
Moseph Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 I told Facebook a month or so ago that I work for Aperture Science, and this makes my day. Quote
KyleJCrb Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 There, that should keep the fanboys satiated for another 5 years... Quote
Aeronaut Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 Any realistic shred of credibility this may have had in my mind disappeared when the Blappeture link showed Gabe Newell's face near the end of the audioclip. Still, 'twould be neat if it was true. Quote
Kenogu Labz Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 I think it ties into Portal 2's "Perpetual Testing Initiative". It sounds like the user-made tests send test subjects to a parallel universe, so it wouldn't be surprising if Cave somehow managed to buy Black Mesa in one of those parallel instances. It's awesome to have more Cave quotes to brandish, though! Quote
JerryTerry Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 The voice clip is actually found in the new DLC. Apparently this is almost certainly fake. Quote
Powerlord Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Speaking of new DLC, Portal 2 is $6.79 on Steam this weekend due to said DLC. It's $8.49 for both Portal games on Steam. Quote
Brandon Strader Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 How do you get the new DLC? Is it free? Quote
Kenogu Labz Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Yes. It's the built-in level editor, along with Steam Workshop connectivity for simple publishing and playing. Quote
Powerlord Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Yes. It's the built-in level editor, along with Steam Workshop connectivity for simple publishing and playing. Actually, I published my first (pretty easy) test chamber (Dual Purpose) just a few minutes ago. I couldn't believe how many tries it took to keep my buttons from fizzling my cubes. Quote
