Mykah
Hey guys, here's another track from my Kirby EP. This time I reworked the music from the Halfmoon stage / Taking over the Halberd. https://soundcloud.com/mykah/halfmoon Thanks to DJ Cutman for mastering it, GameChops for releasing it, and Jun Ishikawa for creating the original! Kanohi
I like this a lot! My main issues are the snare/clap sample you use for the buildup and the section around 1:50. It seems out of place in a DnB track in my opinion. Some stuff I would tweak would be make the intro a little less heavy on the drums, maybe have similar samples EQ'd to be a bit less powerful so that it progresses into the heavy stuff. Also I think the chiptune bits would benefit from more modulation and effects, as it sounds a little too similar to the original track at times. Aside from those small things, this track is really awesome, great job!
Argle
Very energetic track, I'm diggin it. Something I wasn't too crazy about, and this is a personal preference, once the chip sounds came in they seemed too loud and forward and made the beat seem less powerful. timaeus222
I agree, the chiptune sounds don't fit this at all. You need to upgrade your sounds, and get a better mix balance too. Right now, those chiptune sounds are too loud as well. I can't really say anything else, because it sounds the same almost the entire time.
