hazardous
And I'd be hooking it up to a iBook. I was wondering what are the pros and cons of USB vs. Firewire, and what is a good all around one that isn't anymore than $400(But still has all the connections). I don't really know to much bout these, so any info is welcome. Thanks in advance.
OverCoat
I googled a bit for "USB2 vs. Firewire" and got this page: http://www.barefeats.com/usb2.html
Hsia Nu
I would stick with firewire. Besides it can only write the data as fast as your hard drive can receive it. These are awesome on MAC OSX: http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/FireWire410-main.html
crypto_magnum
That M-Audio firewire looks nice, but if you want to save $160, consider going usb with the Edirol UA25: http://www.zzounds.com/item--EDIUA25 I have a UA25 for my laptop (Dell Inspiron), and does everything I could possible need. Firewire is definitely better if you can afford it, but usb hasn't caused any problems for me so far.
