how do I go about creating SFX

I have FL Studio 6 XXL Producer Edition and I'm looking to learn how to create sound effects(SFX) like:

Gunshots

Explosions

Gun Reloading

Gun Clicks

Monster Roars

etc.

In other words, game SFX.

Any tips on how to do this/links to tutorials on creating custom SFX are greatly appreciated.

u prob wanna actually go out and find them. Although it's a complete pain in the ass you'll be a better person for it...I'm sure some people around here got some.

Go check out samplefusion.com for some stuff. They got tons of sfx stuff. I'll look through my collection and see what I find.

There's a sample/soundfont request sticky. If you'dve read it, you would've been to www.findsounds.com by now.

Are you looking for sound libraries so that you can mix and mangle the sounds? If that's what your looking for there are tons of commercial libraries and free sounds you can find on the net.

If you're looking for your own truly original sounds though, you'll have to go out and record the sounds yourself. If you do this, record as many different things as you can and multiple takes, as it won't sound exactly the same each time.

you've sort of got the idea that i had, except, without recording, taking a generic sound i can create in FL and then using effects to tweak it into the above SFX

So let me get this straight... You want to create sounds in FL and then mangle them to get some sfx? This could work for strange and unusual sounds, but it probably isn't the best way to get some of the more common sounds. Though with some effort and a lot of creativity it probably could be done.

If you mean taking normal samples then mangling them then there are a lot of different techniques. A common one is timestretching, dropping/raising in pitch, reversing, granualizing, layering with pads, basically take everything you can and throw it at the sample.
