Dcapo89
Hey guys, I recently completed a little arrangement of "Secret of the Forest" from the SNES class Chrono Trigger. This piece gets covered and arranged fairly often, but I decided I wanted to try my hand at it. A lot of the best covers for this piece either tend to be either a full replication of the original instrumentation or a solo piano piece, so I decided to meet somewhere in the middle and approach it as a piano and flute piece. The result is something that I hope is simple, approachable and a little elegant, while still retaining what made the original piece by Yasunori Mitsuda so special. Hope you guys enjoy it as much as we loved working on it. - Daniel. Edited October 16, 2017 by Dcapo89 made a mistake. Black_Doom
Light_of_Aether
Hi Daniel! Would you please post a link to your arrangement? Dcapo89
Dcapo89
Woops! I can't believe I forgot to actually link the piece. I feel dumb now. Thanks for giving me a heads up!
Black_Doom
Could be a bit longer, though, but that's my only complaint here. Really love the original, and you did an awesome job! Dcapo89
Dcapo89
Thank you! Yeah, I agree it could be longer. I make 1 video a week at the moment, so I kinda have to churn this out. For that reason, some of them end up being a little on the shorter side. One day I'll have to extend them.
Gario
Oh, I like that low flute in this. If one isn't careful it's a very easy instrument to drown out since it has virtually no power at that range, but it's balanced quite well against the piano in this case. Such a nice timbre. Very nice arrangement you've got going, here; I guess I'll look forward to more posted by you on here.
Light_of_Aether
A beautiful arrangement! The piano/flute combo works quite well. Do you and Katie have any more arrangements in the pipeline?
