Aleniums
Well I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this or not, but it is a question about remixes more or less, so here I go.. Why is it that nobody ever bothers remixing music like Digimon World? (Digimon World, Digimon World 2, or even Digimon World 3) It's a game for playstation 1 (PSX), with Super Nintendo quality music at best, even in battles, and I'd like to see it remixed some time, why has nobody thought of this? I mean there's a bajillion gaming platforms which have been remixed, but hardly ever playstation, even though alot of the games for it have music worthy (more like needing) of being remixed. Hell even Digimon world 4 for playstation 2 and gamecube has lousy music most of the way, to the point I just mute the damn television when playing. Play it for yourself if you don't get what I mean, especially DMW3, the game has great 3D battle scenes, some amazing vids that play through the game, and the worst music of the whole series of DMW games. It's pathetic! I usually keep my computer's sound port plugged into the audio IN jack of my VCR when playing games, to get better sound to go with these things, but I've been waiting for someone to remix DMW and it's just not happening. Any particular reason? And dont please tell me "because the game sucks", I know it can suck at points, but most of it is relatively good. thanks for listening. if you don't have any DMW games and can't get any, you can download the game ISO and an emulator to try it for yourself. Nineko
Well I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this or notNo, it's not. But relax, a moderator is probably going to move your thread in this section, that is better.Welcome to OCR anyway.
Splunkle
Firstly, this should live over in ReQuests, methinks. Just so you know for next time Secondly, I haven't played the games, but I must object to your sentiment that the playstation is "hardly ever" mixed. Lets get some numbers here: SNES: 410 NES: 332 PS1: 161 Genesis: 121 PC: 71 Arcade: 43 N64: 42 Gameboy: 32 PS2: 27 C64: 26 Master System: 21 Amiga: 18 Dreamcast: 16 Sega CD: 14 NeoGeo: 9 Xbox: 9 GBA: 8 Saturn: 7 Gamecube: 6 Turbografx: 4 GameGear: 3 32x: 2 CPC: 1 Jaguar: 1 Macintosh: 1 Virtual Boy: 1 X68000: 1 Thats all the systems mixed so far, near enough. As you can see, the PS1 is the 3rd most remixed console on the site. Of course, this doesn't address the lack of Digimon mixes.
Aleniums
umm thanks for your replies and I'm sorry I posted in the wrong slot, I'm new here. Digimon world 1 has nintendo (NES) quality music, snes at best. World 2 has slightly better music, barely. World 3 takes it back a step tho. Worse. And world 4, well for a game specifically made for PS2 and gamecube, you would expect it would have better music then n64 quality... o_O thanks for the correction on the psx remix thing btw. PS: your emulator section isn't working, and some of the sorting options lead to 404 errors. might want to check that out. EDIT: still no working emulator downloads, and still cant sort by name or system or anything. you want me to host them for you or something? at least then I'd have access to them edit #2: O...k... still no digimon remixes, why..? Digimon Rumble Arena and Digimon Card Battle would also be nice to have remixes done. Is there some special codeword or something that makes people start to remix my requests? help? btw, some user on demonoid.com (not me) seems to have uploaded a 2 or so GB torrent with all your remixes contained within, you might want to check that out. I personally think it's cool, especially since it saves on bandwidth on your site download mirrors, though it does cheapen the experience since it takes most credit away from the authors, even if the filenames are left the same, and it draws more people away from here then it does towsrds here. that's my thoughts tho. oh, and happy thanksgiving!! I'm thankful I don't have to eat a god-awful turkey, I don't care what they say, there's no such thing as cooking one correctly, and even if there was, there's still that I don't much like the taste, plus the damn thing puts me to sleep a while later, which is lame if I want to see football, and fall asleep before it comes on. I'm sure all you guys (and girls maybe) know what I'm talking about. There's nothing more fun then watching two teams of guys who don't know each other outside the game, smashing the living crap out of each other lol
Aleniums
you guys forget about me? lol not sure if editing a topic bumps it, since I got no replies after my last edit, but I'm sure replying to it does. lol Just wondering if anyone is workin on any of them digimon remixes I requested? Well if it inspires any of you, or if you're a digimon fan, check out some vids I created myself and put on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=Aleniums Everyone seems to like them. DarkeSword
Just want to make sure you understand that just because you request something doesn't mean your request will be filled. In any case you're probably better off requesting a specific song than simply a series of games.
Tensei
I should probably point out that saying " The game's music sucks" usually isn't a good incentive for people to start remixing it.
Aleniums
Ok then.. here's something more specific: DMW1: village music (day and night ones), Battle music, and store music. DMW2: Dungeon music, battle music, victory music, repair shop music, team musics for all three, or if I had to chose one, Black Sword. DMW3: Town music, underwater submarimon music, Lamb Chop Bar music, A.o.A controlled area music (where the terrorists have won, not when the music is normal), Shuttle Port music, and Kernel Zone music. DMW4: Ophanimon's HQ music, outside music, train ride music. I realize that requesting remixes, and saying the game music sucks, won't get things remixed, but there's oh so much room for improvement, play the games for yourself and you will see what I mean, or play the musics people downloaded to youtube, either way. (actually I'd suggest playing the recorded ones first, then playing the game. It shows the full impact of the music, and should inspire remixers to work on it. thanks for the advice and tips, and for listening.
