Thanks for both - this remix itself and reminding me of a totally unrelated favorite song, which share in my opinion a similar background-pattern in some parts. It's probably that repeating uprising note-ladder that jumps back but keeps rising again. Beside that they don't have much in common.

As for your remix. I can't remember havin heard something related in FFVIII, but that doesn't matter. Sounds very good to me.
