Final_metroid
Theres this weird audio file format known as MOD that I dont know how to convert, so far all that I have been given is crappy programs from Google searches, and other programs recommended by even crappier message boards. ANyone have a simple alternative?
Smoke
.MOD isn't a weird format at all. Also, if you're looking for a player, Winamp supports them by default but there are better plugins available for Winamp, as well as separate programs, to handle them. Just wait until OverCoat gets here.

SoloGamer
If you want to convert them to mp3, you can download a tracker program (for example Modplug Tracker), load up the mod file, and export as mp3.

OverCoat
I can't find any exe. or install file in the winzip, am I missing something? music mods are awesome. Sorry I didn't see this thread sooner D: here: http://pweb.jps.net/~olivierl/utils/mpt116.zip just put that in a directory [ex: C:\Modplug\] and it'll work. You'll also need "lame.dll" to convert directly to mp3, which modplug does pretty well. It's also a very fun and capable program to make music with especially chiptunes. OpenMPT sucks hard though. http://www.free-codecs.com/Lame_Encoder_download.htm You could do it with Winamp and DiskWriter, but Winamp comes with mikmod 2 [or something] by default, which is not a very accurate playback lib for music mods. If you want to play mod files [mod/s3m/it/xm] in winamp, I recommend the BASS Module plugin: http://www.winamp.com/plugins/details.php?id=132367 You can also use VLC media player to play mods. VLC actually uses modplug's playback engine so it plays them pretty well. Anyway, I make mod files, and so does Mazedude, but I can't find any of his mods anywhere :[
