Lunahorum
what genre is this? Epic orchestral or something? I want more music like this. I love this stuff. http://www.waves.com/Content.aspx?id=175 - it's the video to the side Sort of reminds me of the 300 soundtrack. That soundtrack rocked! Moseph
If I'd heard it without knowing what it was, I'd have guessed it was from a movie score. I wouldn't call it epic orchestral, but I can't really offer a better name. Orchestral rock band, maybe?
Sil
There's not really anything orchestral about it except that it uses instruments commonly found in a classical orchestra, but could also be found elsewhere. While it's easy to throw around terms such as "orchestral" or "symphonic" to describe the unique instrumentation, it really doesn't suggest what I had in mind when I think of orchestral music on an epic scope. It doesn't sound like rock music either, except that again it uses some rock instruments. To me it just sounds like electronica.
OverCoat
Genre is "zirconcore"
zircon
Nah, I use more electronic elements than that. There's no name for this genre really. It's just a hybrid of orchestra, rock, and electronic sounds, which is standard for any action film trailer.

Smenelian
E.S. Posthumus has epic trailer type music that, not surprisingly, is used in trailers. Check them out if you haven't already.
DZComposer
Definitely NOT epic orchestral. Not even Orchestral, really. This is some breed of electronic music. It didn't strike me as "epic" either, but that may just be a matter of taste.
Lunahorum
well what genre is it so I can listen to similiar music? Recommend me similiar artists?
The Furious One
cinematic orchestra or electronic orchestra (this particular video is more electronic) similar artists would include Craig Armstrong, Rob Dougan, Harry Gregson Williams, and the aforementioned ES Posthumus. Very nice choices Furious. I concur with all of those. Also, Trevor Rabin (any action film composer really), and anything labeled "Movie Trailer Music". You'd be surprised that there are quite a few albums of nothing but original trailer music that sound a hell of a lot like this stuff. Completely forgot about Trevor Rabin, he was actually the artist that first got me into this type of cinematic compositions. http://www.myspace.com/douganrob - I'm admin for this one so send a request and I'll add you. http://www.myspace.com/craigarmstrong I've just remember Immediate Music they would be the most similar to this particular style. http://www.myspace.com/globusmusic (listen to the song titled 'Spiritus Kyhayyam' - http://www.immediatemusic.com/
charidog
Immediate Music, X-Ray Dog, E.S. Posthumus and other trailer musicians below... http://forums.ffshrine.org/showthread.php?t=44056 I would suggest starting with one of the Canis Rex CD's by X-Ray Dog
