OCRA-0005 - Doom: The Dark Side of Phobos

Didn't anyone else think that EvilHorde's 'The Leaning Tower of Babel' was by far the greatest and catchiest mix though? It was just so well done, it's my favourite. -

Thanks gramps, but most of these mixers aren't so young. Uh, I'm 17, the best tracks to me sounded kind of unprofessional, experimentative, which is what I liked about them. You sure sounded nostalgic in your original post, then. Well I used to be a pretty good writer, but mainly since the loss of my fantasy novel almost four years ago; mix of anime/videogames/movies and such; which I'd been working on all through year 8, I haven't been able to write much since. I'm still saving up to see if I can have it recovered from the hard drive, it occured to me about a year or so ago that I could try and have it recovered seeing as my writing was getting worse and this could boost my confidence a lot. I was being ironic in my post by calling you gramps. I know you're still a kid. The point was more that whether you think they sound professional or not doesn't really matter. There was debate on the Doomworld boards though about the quality of the remixing and how some people thought it was sloppy or amateurish, but I think while obviously not at professional recording studio level, it was a very good tribute by Doom fans. -

It has such an amateurish spark, raw enthusiasm, I love that about it, reminds me of my golden early teen writing days. Long live young mixers! -

Just got the Doomworld boards working, seems some people don't like the DSoP project, well I've never played Doom, so I'm not biased to the game, but I've played Quake 2, and apparently Doom and Quake are very similar. In this regard, I think the DSoP remixes would suit a Quake game very well, and therefore not that far off from a Doom game. The people complaining are mostly just long-set Doom fanboys. As a piece of music, it's definitely above average, I'd say about a third of the tracks definitely outstanding. It's got all the industrialism, techno, metal where it matters, everything else is obviously elaborative. I'm gonna get Doom just to see how well this soundtrack fits in. -

Downloaded it yesterday, my favourite tracks: leaning tower of babel chemical imps Infiltrator (Do I detect some James Bond in there?) glass moon Darkness Dawning (pure goth, a little too goth for my liking, but still good) ElectroCute Bunny Props to Evil Horde, RoeTaKa, DJ Carbunk1e, Ryan8Bit, Elsa Persson, Larsec and TO. EDIT: Also Hemophiliac and Pixietricks for Aria Of The Damned. Link -
OCR00683 - Super Mario Bros. "Dirty Mix"

Oh my god, did you just say David Craig!? I'm sure you were just quoting someone, but whoever it was, the guy's name is CRAIG DAVID, I didn't expect people outside britain to be that ignorant of him, though he hasn't had success in america. EDIT: I just heard the WTF mix, these guys must be british, explaining the Craig David sample. And I was indeed tempted to say 'WTF?' in parts, nice mixing. -

Wow, I find it wonderful that you all find this an average megaman remix, and to me it's one of the most beautiful pieces of music I've ever heard. As I've said before, because of my visions, this remix represents very well so many things I can't explain. I downloaded this over half a year ago and I'm still listening to it, great work. -
OCR01365 - Sonic the Hedgehog "Marble Dash"

I don't think I've heard the original Marble Zone Track, but this remix sure as hell sounds better than Eastenders! I agree the mix is a little excessive, it could've been cut down a minute or two.
