Tried to save you some time by Googling(usually pretty good at finding things), but no luck I'm afraid. I found some loose chords that harmonize with the song on a site called "chordify" I also tried to directly convert the song into a MIDI file by audio spectrograph(I found software that does it), but it fails to differentiate between different instruments, and the notes don't sound quite right.

You can listen to the n64 track here, or from the Paper Mario Chiptunes pack(under the filename "s64 - Sad Sun.miniusf") I mostly want to hear it with proper instruments, or at least a more realistic soundfont. I really hear some strong Spanish guitar influences in the song, definitely want that guitar included.

I noticed this when getting the chiptunes for Paper Mario, that the "get winamp" link on http://www.chipamp.org/ is broken. www.winamp.com still works, and leads to a usable version of Winamp that's compatible with the plugin but http://www.winamp.com/player/ leads to a 404 error.

Better than the other Furries mix, and more deviations from the original, that boost the song(not referring to the sound effects, though they certainly call to mind images of playing Pac in time oh so many years ago).

Well.. I finally figured it out. I heard the mix, and it sounded remarkably familiar, despite the firm knowledge that I'd never played the game before. I decided to take a look at the game for myself. After viewing a screenshot, I was startled by the likeness it had to another game I had played. I did some research, and found out that Fury of the Furries was remade and released for the PC in the US as Pac-in-Time(which is very different from the SNES version, and differs from Fury of the Furries in story, some graphics, and game physics). I also tracked down a MOD of the original song this was based on, and I have to agree. It is quite nearly identical to the original. I've listened to the original and the remix back to back, and though I could tell you which was which, I wouldn't be able to tell you until a full minute into the song, and if you asked me in a week, I wouldn't remember the differences, because they are very specific and very small. As a track, this song rocks. As a remix, it's a very minimalist approach. I don't pretend to be an expert though, and my ear is untrained, so maybe there are more differences than I can detect.

It was very good. It felt like a cross between New Age and Native American, and overall. It was excellent. Another instant favorite to add to the list. The only thing that bothered me at all was the staccato drums at some points. It's such a minor point however, and the quality of everything else, essentially blows that little issue out of the water.

This was bloody hilarious. Somewhat reminiscent of The Highwayman, but much lighter. Yet again, a Commodore-based remix amazes me. I had a Commodore 64, and most of the games I had for it didn't really have much in the way of music(Zork, Little Computer People, that sort of thing).

I'm not an expert in music, so I won't pretend to be one, but this is definately an excellent and well done piece. I didn't feel it was very conservative, except in style, which feels a little neo-classical. Definately another good one to add to the collection.

What a beautiful remix. Excellently done, it makes me want to go back and listen to the original just to get a basis for comparison. All an all an excellent piece for anyone to listen to, regardless of whether or not they've played the game.

An excellent arrangement and strongly reminiscent of high classical piano. I saved it after listening to it once. Once was all I needed to hear that it was great.

This is quite simply a beautiful piece. I can close my eyes and my senses to everything but the music and I get goosebumps. The first time I heard it(when it was first posted, in fact), I was blown away. That feeling still hasn't gone, and the piece still blows me away each time I listen to it. It's simply amazing just how much this piece manages to retain it's magic throughout and even after, as the somber mood carries on long after the silence begins.

While I like most of the genres of remixes, I'm particularly fond of the classical style ones, and of all of them, Russel Cox usually stands out with his remixes. They are invariably beautiful, and Evolutionary Means is no exception. I love your remixes, Russel. Keep up the spectacular work.

I've listened to this at least 5 times before, but now I've decided to say something. This is by far one of the best ReMixes on the site, and one of my favorites. The beat carries you away and almost gets your foot bouncing within the first few seconds.
