  1. I know this is a trivial question, but here goes.

When I listen to music or watch movies on my computers, there are three points of volume control before it reaches my ears. First there's the media program's volume level, then there's the Windows volume level, and finally there's the volume knob on my speakers.

Is there any optimum combination of those three that gives a better sound quality than others? Should iTunes and Windows both be at 50%, 75%, or 100% and me control the volume via my speakers? Does any combination result in more popping than another? Or does it all not matter?

  2. How expensive would it be to print something like that?

I can't speak for other places, but at a ritz camera you could expect to pay $40 for each 24x36 (I printed it as two big prints then cut them each in half) and about $30 to mount each 24x36 on foamboard. So for the whole thing you could pay about $140, unless you haggled them down. You could also go with four 12x36 banners, which cost $10 each. In which case the whole thing would cost about $100.

The main difference is how each is printed. I did mine on an Epson Stylus inkjet. Whereas the $10 option would be off a toner-based printer. I actually tested that method, and it came out pretty well, but I decided that I had the Epson at my disposal, so I went for it.

You could also probably save some money by mounting it somewhere else, like a framing shop or something.

  3. SALE (via ebay, so it need not be listed on the first post)

Super poseable Revoltech Prof. Layton figure. I bought it on a whim but decided I really don't need it, thus I am offering him up on ebay. He only spent couple of weeks on display, so everything is in perfect condition. Even includes all original packaging!
