I enjoy playing with you guys (even you, Luke) and while my play varies from really good to really awful (sorry Hemo) I still look forward to the inhouses and failtopubstomps. If the zombies eat you in L4D do you rage at your teammates? Well I have never played it so that might be a bad comparison but yeah. Even when everyone on my team plays like crap or where everyone but me is playing well and we lose cause I did bad, I learn something new and improve from the situation. If you guys were to stop playing I don't know what I'd play... probably just sit back and level up pokemon all day :/

Back in my dota days my friends and I would, while wondering what exactly to build on each individual hero, usually settle on things like perseverance (and then proceeding to battlefury for melee heroes) based on the fact that the itme gives regen and damage, while not boosting any particular stat. Of course the people on the forums are the same assholes who play the game and rage and afk/leave games and ruin the experience day in and day out, so they would obviously bash us for doing so. My question is though, if you're doing well farming early on what harm is it to get a void stone or ring of health? Early on the regen you get from them seems to be quite nice and especially as a melee hero solves either your mana problems or your ability to stay in lane and last-hit and deny vs ranged. I mean, I'd rather have one of thoes things than a second or third bracer depending on the situtation.

Ugh Pharaoh is so hard to deal with. That 1700 tore us apart with him. Not only did he kill our wards (how did he hit them, if they are magic immune and he is melee?) but he set up some of the meanest ganks (I go mid to set up a ward at top, get eyed, spirited, hellfired into oblivion) and even when it was something like 3 on 2 he destroyed us all.

What magical number is that? I find I hang out at around 40-50 APM. I know this is low, but it isn't like in Starcraft where you are managing micro, macro, and all that. We're only talking a single hero~

Played Silencer just now. Feels just as squishy as in DotA. Also, do you not see the debuff for getting charged by the Rhino? That's just insane. In my quest to further understand support heroes I have played a lot of demented shaman today. Wow, why wasn't I picking this hero before?

Silencer was my second-favorite DotA int hero, so I'm glad he's going to be available next week. Same with Spiritbreaker (Rhino) only with str.

Awful game on my part. Don't know why I picked Defiler. The last game I had with her I did great, which might have led me to think I could repeat. Bad choice.

Please stop making it seem like playing scout is a good idea. You're just encouraging more people to decide poorly and pick scout. That is the last thing I want to see, given that he appears in EVERY public ap game I have played.

I like Polywog Priest in a similar way to Electrician except that I feel so vulnerable with the priest. As the electrician I can avoid many potential deaths by throwing up mana shield, zapping myself, and getting out of there. The priest... can maybe scare away his opponent by throwing down his wards, but then they weren't used to push a tower or aid in a team battle.

After two days in a row of getting ABed to one team with 4 OCR on the other side, I realize that I need to seriously improve my game. I wander too much, I runewhore too much, and I pick electrician too much. While he is my favorite hero, his early game dominance only really works with a lane partner capable of taking advantage of his long disable. I was hoping to get centaur but spiritbreaker was another of my favorite picks in dota pubs. His charge ability will be a nice counter to scouts and nighthounds and madmen (once you target someone with it [in dota] the guy charges at them and you retain sight of the target the whole time) not to mention it looks absolutely hilarious.

I don't get why we don't just do game-by-game bans. Competitive play from what I've seen of in DotA was that each team took a turn banning a hero from the pool (I think it was 2 bans each team) and then picking continued from there. So even if Jereziah and Tempest don't show up in the random draft, you can decide as a team that you don't want to face The Dark Lady or whomever. It's that simple. Randoming for the banned hero would still be okay. In the case of the earlier game, garian randomed Arachna, and Hemo picked Tempest. Randoming Arachna would be totally fine, but picking Tempest would not.

Can we please drop the drama bullshit? I like to hang out with you guys and play games but some people are taking it way too seriously. The next time you want to complain, ask yourself how many times you had Harmonious on your team lately, how many times he was your lane partner and went too far in and died. I'm not ragging on Harm, but his play is enough to make anyone rage. And we still play with him. I might not like that I'm his lane partner, and he's going to feed, but I don't say "let's not let him play" RelyanCe, you can't compare a pubstomp EM game to an inhouse. It just won't work out the same as that. While I agree Arachna is way overpowered in 3v3, in 5v5 she's quite squishy and fun to focus on. Nothing makes me more giddy than watching the small spider and the big spider both melt. Come on, people, it's a game.

Whee, drama~ 4v4 is fun but I imagine 5v5 is more fun.

I learned to play DotA in sd mode and I think it helps you get a feel for the different types of heroes and the playstyles associated with them. You can play the same hero ad-nauseum in ap all you want, but as soon as someone else picks him or you end up in rd mode you don't know quite what to do. I love the blacksmith meme for some reason.

While playing FF8 the summer of my freshman year in high school I listened to nothing but A Perfect Circle's Mer de Noms and talked to a girl on the phone. Same thing with Xenogears, except with RHCP's Californication. Churches remind me of Lufia 2, Harvest Moon, and Zelda 3 depending on the style.

So my friend was back to work making a clock using custom sprites from the various Final Fantasy games. It was a birthday present for our other friend, who did the Chrono Trigger beadsprite I posted earlier. He was very pleased.
