  1. What is it, bustatunez? Did Jimmy fall down a well? SOMETHING SOMETHING DARKSIDE SOMETHING SOMETHING SlyGen trying to show those crows who's boss
  2. This is for Arek. This is for Yosho. This is for NekoFrog, who sat out on burgers.
  3. San Francisco has beaches. I never knew. This is what it's all about. Is this enough coals? I think we need more. More fire.
  4. Your birthday party was awesome. Remember when we drunk dialed zircon?
  5. First I must say, it was great to finally meet all of you guys. Any preconceptions I had were dashed the moment I met up with Neko, Arek, and Global-Trance. The whole day was a massive pile of awesomeness with so many memorable moments with wacky, fun-loving people. Even the aforementioned trouble with the monstrous truck and the aircraft carrier-sized bus that set the whole thing in motion. The highs of the high: VG themed woot! shirts Nekofrog demo reel! Making the most of missing a turn by offering Arek $2 to turn around on what was basically a highway (he denied us :/ but we almost had it) Taking THE LAST EXIT before going over the Golden Gate Bridge (it was right in front of us) only to find that we were exactly where we wanted to be! Shopping with busta and Yosho... busta's complete naïveté about EVERYTHING i.e. "where are the potatoes?" when he's right in front of the potatoes Alligator stew Beach cookoff where nobody knows what they're doing but are too proud to admit it and look up instructions online (c'mon, it's a learning experience! we don't need a wikihow on how to bbq!) A_Rival has appeared! all the drunken antics and video meeting old friends for the first time and making new friends <3 Also I must relate a story nobody's touched on yet. SO bustatunez loads up SF4 for us to play and goes "oh I haven't unlocked Gouken yet, can you guys do that for me?" So we set it up so it's super easy and bam, 10 minutes later we have Gouken. So THEN busta asks to have us unlock Seth, but he's only beaten the game with a third of the characters. So instead we decide to just beat the game with Gouken. Global-Trance wants it to be more challenging, so he sets it back to the medium difficulty and regular round times. We proceed to bash our way through people until we get to Cammy. Now, among the group Arek, Neko, and GT are the better players, and Cammy perfected at least two of them in single rounds. Cammy finally got taken down in spectacular fashion by a pretzel-wearing Gouken with the shoryuken ultra (breaking the airplane wing, which was met with great applause.) Ultimately Gouken comes face to face with Seth, who is pretty easy in the first round (unless you're me) and nuts in the second and third rounds. We must have watched Global-Trance fight him over 20 times (along with the whole room passing the controller around to no avail) but it was not meant to be and we were going to the beach. The look on GT's face as we walked in defeat to the beach was priceless. Gouken will have to fight Seth another day, sorry bustatunez!
  6. BGC, did you happen to play Aquaria? This song really reminded me of Aquaria (which is funny because most people compare Aquaria to an underwater Metroid), especially the breathing. It was like Naija was underneath the suit instead of Samus. The choir oohs and aahs add to that feeling along with the instrument choice (which is prime) I loved this song, and it made me want to play both Metroid and Aquaria over again. I am looking forward to your next release to be sure.
  7. Except that every item you got in the various dungeons made it easier each time to get through the TotOK, plus you had the checkpoint to skip through the first 3 or 4 screens. Whereas NOTHING makes it easier to get to the places in the middle of the stupid ocean to pull up pieces of triforce. That comparison of yours blows.
  8. I signed up to go to the OneUps thing. They only have 30 tickets for some reason, so it might not be feasible to get everyone to go to this. Lukas, figure out how we can just do a bbq at your place and that solves everything.
  9. And to anyone whining about cel-shaded Link... maybe you didn't play any Zelda games before Ocarina of Time or something...? Yeah, real manly / not cartoony at all.
  10. Having just beaten Phantom Hourglass, this game looks EXACTLY THE SAME. Swap a boat for a train and it's the same exact game. Same sound effects, same dungeon design, heck even some of the monsters are exactly the same, and I'm not talking octorocks or dodongos. Oh well.
  11. BBQ is totally a cooler option than just eating at a restaurant in SF. The value is in the meetup, not in the food. Spend your $20 to eat someplace nice on your own, I say! Dance magic dance
  12. I'm good for either day. I've never been to Baker Beach or SF Japantown so those are cool options. I'll be up in SF this weekend so maybe I'll scout around a bit for other cool options. Yoshi's Japanese restaurant / Jazz Club is a cool place (if it's still open in SF? I heard they might close) so I'd look into that as well.
  13. I played on arena_lumberyard the other day with Gibbo and I have to say it is an AMAZING change of pace from the normal trash maps. I'd much rather spend my days fighting on that level (or that other arena level we never play on) than Gold Rush or Dustbowl.
  14. I just wanted to point out to people that I'm always down to play 12PM - 12AM PST. It sucks that the server typically stays empty til 6ish.
  15. I got me one of those things that go in the game slot but aren't games themselves... hope it arrives in the mail tomorrow. Then I can start enjoying Puzzle Quest on my own DS!
  16. Removing crits would reduce the attendance of games moreso than leaving them as they are. OCReMix is a website about the creation and appreciation of video game music as opposed to, say, tournament quality FPS gameplay. I'm pretty sure this is the OCR server, and the average OCR community member is not a pro at FPS / TF2. If the vocal skill people want to remain vocal, they might want to play where the skill level is more challenging for them. I'm loving this game.
  17. I burned the movie to CD. Great film with a good variety of artists being represented, although (as SoCk puppet mentioned) this is limited mostly to those with LSDJ and midiNES etc. Try to spot the virt! He's in there a few times.
  18. I've started playing now (thanks garian!) and I stink but I'll be your huckleberry from time to time on the OCR server.
  19. Simply put, the quality on this album is the best of all the projects on OCR. It may not have the huge names, the glitz and glamor, or the epic proportions of some of the other projects, but it more than makes up for it in consistency. This is a beautiful compilation of tracks. More remix projects should be like this one. Small, tasteful, thoughtful, delightful. Great job, dudes.
  20. The last boss in NARC is, I believe, invincible (at least for the arcade? I think it was) to show that the war against drugs is NEVER OVER. Or something like that. Right now the hardest boss for me is the Yokozuna in We (Heart) Katamari.
  21. Shael linked me a sample of what this album is going to sound like, and I have to say that if the rest of the songs turn out anything like the Ryu track is shaping up to be, then we're all in for a super treat. Kudos to those of you contributing to this wonderful body of work!
