  1. The DS lite's gba cartridge bay isn't deep enough, so gba carts stick out of the system. It's not horrible, but that might bother me a bit. If you're looking to save cash, there's nothing wrong with the original. I love mine, take it everywhere (something that did not happen with previous gb/gba incarnations) I'm only getting a Lite when I can get it in ultra-secksy Black And then, maybe not - Who knows what new redesign Nintendo might be trying to drop on us by then?
  2. Yeah, I pretty much have to agree, imho there should only be graphics on a skin, words just ruin it.
  3. Yes we do. We need adult link, and kid link, and WW link, and we need all the '4-swords' links, and then we need a dark link, and then all the Majora's Mask Links, and then the LttP link (his charge attack would rule), and then like, the wolf link from TP, and then a Tingle-Link hybrid/lovechild, and then an X-men link, and then... (blah blah blah) Hopefully the levels will have grass you can cut, which then gives items... Hah, that just gave me an idea for Link's supermove, (Not that we haven't seen it already in the trialer...); All the other generations of Link come on to the screen and spin attack/Triforce bit!hslap everyone else at once.
  4. NO His primary attack is a freakin' jump. And I don't want to get spammed by idiots who just mash the homing attack button. Ugh. He doesn't really seem all that obvious to me. Sure, he's more popular than some of the suggestions I've been reading here and he's been in a few recent games on Nintendo systems, but he doesn't really have a past on a N system. I'm not against him being added, just not all that crazy about it, I'm sure I can think of better char additions to the roster than him. Also, I'd rather like to see more popular characters from more games rather than having a bunch from fewer. For example we really don't need three Links.
  5. I'm fine with the old DS design, the only qualms I have with it is the screen brightness, the small cracks allowing dirt in when it's closed and it's size. I also rather like the original shape - the Lite design seems a little bland to me. Also the GBA gamepak stick out on the lite, which I definitively don't like as I either have a GBA game or a M3 cart in there pretty much all the time (And the M3 already sticks out somewhat).
  6. I wish I had heard about Play earlier, as it sounds like none of the following showing will be quite as good as the first one. Hopefully they'll produce a DVD or something later...
  7. To me, Sonic doesn't seem very likely to appear in SSBB, unlike Snake he doesn't have any past on a Nintendo system (Other than as a rival). But I guess crazier stuff has happened. I'd really like to see Ryu Hayabusa from the Ninja Gaiden series in SSBB though, he just has so much potential for ass-kickery it'd be shame if he doesn't make it.
  8. Yeah, the concept was good, but the second time around the levels should have been much more 'nightmarish' with more areas that were unaccesible the first time through. Perhap the layout could have been changed a bit as well just to keep the player on his toes.
  9. SH4 was a good game with some good ideas, but they really needed more time to polish it and create more content.
  10. Jump in a Metal Gear, stay invincible for like 20 seconds I was thinking something more along the lines of a string of awesome slo-mo combos like in Twin Snakes. Backflip Backflip Kick Punch Uppercut Mid Air Kick or something. No. As I stated in the Wii thread, Snake's special should call in Grey Fox (as the Ninja) to jump in, slash at the other characters, then grab the closest one and continually cry out "SNAKE! FIRE THE STINGER!" to which you have 5 seconds to hit B and fire a rocket launcher which detonates in a massive explosion on impact. Come on. I'd laugh my ass off every time the move is pulled off. I second this.
  11. If Tecmo had some smarts they should try and get Ryu Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden in, even though they are with Microsoft, the series started on the NES. That would be flippin' awesome if he was put in. In fact, I think I'll enter that into the character suggestion form, anyone good with Japanese want to help?
  12. Well I'll be damned. I still have some trouble believing that that video was in-game, given what I've seen from other PSP titles, it was probably a FMV. Although I might be underestimating what the SH team can squeeze out of it's hardware, especially considering their history of doing the same with the PS2.
  13. Awesome, too bad they don't ship to Canada , perhaps someone might be willing to order it, and I'll reimburse them? That video is really interesting, It does really look like it could be real, and that awkard 'Silent Hill Next' title could just be a placeholder codename. If it is a real game, I'm 100% sure it's not for the PSP. There is no way the PSP could handle what that trailer shows - yes, the graphics don't exactly jump out at you and scream "NEXTGENOHYEAH!", but the room in that video is really quite detailed, with quite a few subtle special effects like reflections, lensflare, dynamic lighting and shadows that show it may just be for the next generation of consoles. (and if it's a early build, it will likely get a lot better) This would make even more sense if it is for the Wii as well, as the game wouldn't be able to pull out all the graphical stops unlike if it was for PS3/360 only. I wonder though, remember how they were considering a SH game played from the first person perspective? If they were to try that, (Something I'd be very receptive to) I'd imagine the possibilities and ease of use that the Wii's unique control scheme offers would be very hard to ignore for them.
  14. Bought it and MGS2 PC for the same price, but people should know the shipping is like $8 on that. Ouch. -steve That doesn't have the extra content like the Restless Dreams version does, does it? well for 4.99 it's a steal , so I think I'll get it regardless.
  15. Luckily, I had work that night so I had stuff to occupy my mind (although I was all alone in a empty grocery store) I did almost freak myself out when I went to the bathroom though... In some ways, those are the best parts of seeing movies like Silent Hill.
  16. I dunno, They could relate to alessa's stay in the hospital, where a lot of the nurses were good looking young women. After a while she starts to become jealous and even hate them and thus spawns perversions of them in her realm - Who knows, maybe some of them were actual people at one time, like the janitor in the bathroom. Heh, they really did seem to throw aspects from all the games into the movie. I don't think Dahlia had direct control over PH, it seemed to me that he only attacked Anna because Alessa would naturally obey her mother. The cult aspect of the movie, while consistent with the story of the games, conflicts with the general practice of the game, which is to limit the amount of actual human characters interacting at once to a bare minimum to emphasise the isolation. I suppose it was necessary for the movie, but I felt they lingered on too long in the church and the movie ended too quickly afterwords. Such a large gathering of people should be hard to come by and quick to disperse or lose in the Silent Hill realm
  17. Saw it, loved it. I'm definitively going to buy it on DVD when it comes out. It's pretty much the best video game movie I've seen yet. If you're even slightly interested in this movie you owe it to yourself to watch it and form your own opinion.
  18. CRAP! Sorry, but I was really looking forward to it.
  19. FETUS It's what's for dinner! Sorry, couldn't help myself.
  20. How trite. Do you have no appreciation of art or masterful storytelling? What about appreciation of characterization? You obviously have none if you didn't like Silent Hill 2 because James was a "pussy". Kindly take your cultureless hands off my Silent Hill franchise, please. Dude, The SH franchise belongs to you as much as the internet does to Gore, chill. No, it belongs to me. The first name on my birth certificate reads "Konami". So there. So I guess we can blame SH4 on you too then, right? 'WTF' : the perfect three letters to end any sentence regarding the Silent Hill games

Dude, The SH franchise belongs to you as much as the internet does to Gore, chill. And like it's been said already, you get the ending determined by how you played the game. The first time I beat SH2 I got the Leave ending and I was pretty pleased with that, as it reflected how I thought the story should be resolved. Any supposed 'true' ending be damned. Really, you should be happy the devs actually take the time to do these extra endings, it truly is a rarity in games these days.
  22. NO. SHUT UP. I WILL NOT HAVE YOU ENCOURAGING PEOPLE TO SPEND ACTUAL MONEY ON THAT GAME IN THIS FORUM. WE ARE DECENT PEOPLE HERE. TAKE YOUR FILTH ELSEWHERE. decent? I'm going to assume you haven't yet ventured into that which is the unholy realm of unmod. And yeah I'll say it again, It's worth buying if you can find it for $20 or less - there are far, far, FAR worse games you could spend your time and money on.
  23. SH4 is still worth your time, IMO it's not as scary as SH3 nor is the story as well done as SH2 but it still has it's moments. Some of the things they experimented with in it did have lots of potential, but the rather rushed development cycle they pushed on the game made it subpar compared to the rest.
  24. I totally agree, he sure could have imagined a better monster than just copy Spawn which, in my honest opinion, isn't really that great of a design anyways. The doctor/nurse scene was done really well, especially the animations. One thing the series still misses though is that down to earth look of the main characters.
