Welcome to all the newbies.
Maybe a brief explanation as to what it is would also be a little helpful
Basically, if you're new to the forums and wish to learn more about proper nettiquete and some forum history (mostly UnMod stuff) and inside jokes, then you put yourself up for adoption in that thread and one of the regulars in UnMod will "adopt" you and teach you the ropes. If you think you can hack it on your own, more power to ya, but if you feel you might need a little helping hand and would like to experience UnMod for yourself, the Adopt-a-Noob thread is a great place to start.

Welcome all new people. As usual, make sure to read the announcements and stickies in each forum before posting.
Also, be wary of UnMod. It seems to be especially unfriendly towards newer people lately.
I should probably make a signature image and an avatar, just to look more natural.Before you start making that avatar, note that OCR does not allow custom avatars. You can only choose from those in the gallery.

The guy from the 3-D King of Fighters is literally impossible. I used an overpowered character, and he was just....
You had to block every hit, use every opening, and destroy him with an endless combo ending with a super that means his demise at the very instant you can, because thats exactly what he did.
EVERY HIT... Blocked. EVERY OPENING... Exploited. Every time he hits you, its either the beginning of a combo you simply cannot stop, or a setup for a super. He's a real bitch and I hate him.
Like I said before, Duke is one of the easiest KoF bosses out there, if you know what to do. I just sidestep his attacks and he keeps flailing away, leaving him open for attack from behind. I can beat him with just about any character now, even those I have little to no experience with.
To be honest, though, I had plenty of trouble beating him at first. Once he hit me with a single attack, it was pretty much all over for me. He wouldn't even let me get up, much less fight back.

Is was and always will be Rugal Bernstein in KoF 98.
He cancels EVERYTHING you do with a Genocide Cutter, and I loathe him for it.
Hardest KoF boss I've faced is Igniz in '01 (and I've beaten all the KoFs except for '95) and the easiest has to be Duke from Maximum Impact. You can literally run circles around the guy while he punches and kicks away at thin air. I just love toying around with him.

Man, I hate Shao Kahn in MK Trilogy. My cousin and I just can't beat him (might have something to do with the fact that I suck at MK).
It's not too hard to beat him with Sub-Zero. Just use his ice shot, and Kahn does his knee move -- and ends up in upper-cut range at no danger to you. Do an uppercut, then repeat. If you do it fast enough, you may even catch him as he gets up! (Or did you have to use a roundhouse???)
Like I said, I'm not very good at MK, any of them. I just played MK Trilogy because my cousing brought it over on that day. If he brings it over again, I will have to try that strategy on him.

I have question real fast that's kind of off-topic.
What's the difference between the music in Sonic and Knuckles and Sonic 3 and Knuckles? Aren't they the same game, but for the fact that you can play the Sonic and Knuckles levels with Tails? Please enlighten me.
Well, for one, a couple of the songs are a bit different.
Also, if this were just a Sonic and Knuckles project, then some songs from Sonic 3 would not be included. Same thing if it was just Sonic 3, except it would miss out on the songs on Sonic & Knuckles.
Basically, the difference is there's more levels in Sonic 3 & Knuckles than in just plain ol' Sonic & Knuckles.

I've actually been here for awhile (not that anyone would know), but something happened, so I had to register with a new account (forgot why, it was a while back) so now it looks like I've only been here for about six months.
I have a serious lurking problem, so I don't really post that much (A reflection of my real-life [lack of] social skills, possibly)
and anyWHO... isn't there a thread or two where I could get a sig? I'd appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction. ...
One last thing: UnMod is the best, until you actually post and get third-degree burns from the resulting flames - maybe thats why I have such a strong aversion to posting.
Interesting fact: I also lack any real life social skills, but for some reason (which are pretty obvious if you hang around UnMod for a while), I have attained the status of post whore king, so my personality here is almost the opposite of what it is in real life.

Just out of curiosity...Did you ever find Motaro (MK3) difficult to beat ?
I haven't played MK3 in a long time, and I didn't even play it much back then. My guess is, I never even faced him. If he's anything like Khan in Trilogy, then I guess I'd find him difficult.
I think I'm going to try it when I get home today.

I suppose I could say that I've been around the site since mid 2004 (and I think I registered sometime around then), but I haven't actually bothered with the forums until earlier this week.
My first stop was in Unmod (Yes, I am that suicidal, and slightly idiotic, as well). When I checked it out, it wasn't all that hellish. I don't believe that I did anything wrong, other than ask for assistance with a very simple question (I guess it was like throwing peanuts at the gorilla in the zoo). Before I could post a second time, there were multiple four letter words shouted in my general direction, and various references to my mother - not that I expected anything different.
Sorry if I wasn't supposed to do any of that, but I hadn't read any rules at the time.

Try using www.tinypic.com It's has small URLs for its images. It's what I'm using right now so I can fit in all that text along with the pics in my sig. And link to the Photobucket page using www.tinyurl.com Same premise as tinypic.com. It's what I use for the links in my sig as well.
Alternatively, you can fuse the three images togtether into one. Since only one of them has animation, it shouldn't be that hard to do (should it?).
