  1. As far as I can tell, the disc is as good as new - there appear to be a few smudges that I can clean out if you'd like. The booklet seems to be just fine as well.

    Shipping is likely ~$7.

Alrighty! PM me your Paypal email and Frank will transfer the money to ya, I'll send you the shipping address once I get your message.

  2. So Tales studios will die, the american RPG marked is dissing JRPG's for it's innovation and american gamers in overall prefer silent protagonists like in Oblivion and Fallout with first person gameplay.. If this continues, I guess I'll drop off the next generation of gaming.

J-RPG's are dying.. and I hate it lol

  3. This if the worst fucking news I've seen in a long time.. Now I'm pissed.. how can this happen? Symphonia sold 1.3 million copies? Abyss sold nearly a million copies? And Vesperia was a success, the PS3 version even more successful? How the HELL could this have happened? I don't get it...

  4. I do not at all understand why people feel that remixes need to have these things

Well, how to say.. the original themes were made around the character, the situation, the climax, all depth lies within all this.. When it's done 180 degrees away from the original, it may seem comical in parts, which kind of ruins the mood and the theme in itself. At least that's what I think.

  5. Personally, I am not very fond of it.

Didn't capture the essence of his overpowering evil or his persona in general, doesn't have any colors of FF VII present IMO.

The beats are kind of over-repetitive as well.

BUT HEY, it's great sound! Very well put together all in all, and don't care much for what I say, I don't like this genre generally so.. never mind ;)

  6. The Batman topic:

Agree about Hamill, he is brilliant as the Joker.

Personally though, I think Bale as Batman is pretty boring and feels like stiff acting. And his Bruce Wayne is like a Christian Bale in bad mood.

Michael Keaton though, gave a lot of emotion to Bruce Wayne, a lot of characteristics.

  7. I heard that the KARATE kid was learning KUNG FU.. is this a fact?

    If so, that's pretty horrible..

And also: Mr.Miyagi is one of a kind, Jackie Chan stands no chance in taking his place. LOL!

Also, how is the music in the movie? The first 2 movies had this magical aura when you enter Miyagi's 'realm' so to speak, like you are carried off into a focused world with excellent pan flute music composed by Bill Conti. The main theme the first movie opens with is also great, don't tell me this new movie has rap music and modern bland string for emotional effect? lol

  8. no I mean like actually playing Mortal Kombat games

Yeah, no one likes Mortal Kombat, the franchise just sells millions of copies and is most of the time critically acclaimed, people hate that stuff lol.

Personally, I think Mortal Kombat is the best fighting game franchise.

  9. The olden days are impossible to recreate on modern systems. In the SNES and PS1 era, JRPGs were the graphical kings. That simply can't happen now without losing everything else. Things that used to take a few days for one person now take months and months for a whole team to pull off. More effort went into modeling and animating Vaan in FF12 than went into the entire cast of FF7.

The only games I've seen that are modern with full overworlds and tons of side quests are the Tales games and Blue Dragon, and in those cases they have decidedly simpler visuals. You won't get something with FF13's graphics and FF7's world any time soon, if ever.

That said, Last Story and Xenoblade seem less focused on presenting a deluge of cutscenes or being overly-linear, but then neither have the graphics of FF13 either.

Excellent points. Like the God of War 3 team said, on PS2 they needed around 5-6 days with a character, while on PS3 it takes many weeks. It's getting crazy lol So I think the wii is a blessing in many ways. You see, Tales of vesperia got lots of graphic complaints, that it didn't reach up to other titles in graphic, but the in-game content is more than in almost any other game.

And you see, Tales of Graces is a Wii title, I guess most people who make RPG's will go to the Wii because the machine doesn't demand trillions of dollars to make a game lol

  10. I loved Triumph or Agony, hehe... I gotta be honest, the CDs released by bands I like have well exceeded my expectations. They involve but aren't limited to:

Pain of Salvation - Road Salt

    Avantasia - The Wicked Symphony

    Ihsahn - After

    Nevermore - The Obsidian Conspiracy

    Wuthering Heights - Salt

As for the new Rhapsody of Fire.. I've only really listened to the first few songs, but I liked them. I haven't done a proper full listen yet.

Wish I agreed with you with the Pain of Salvation release. Personally, I rank it the lowest album they've released, it has nothing but bland guitar work. The styles doesn't go beyond what's been heard before. And the vocal parts doesn't quite cut it. It has some nice parts, but overall, really disappointing.

I could almost mention any tune from their previous album(s) and it beats the new album to pieces. Like Flame to the moth, hell, just the intro is better than the whole album LOL!!

BUT I have to say the track ''Sisters'' blew me away, AMAZING song, instant classic.

  11. I always thought Power of the Dragonflame was an awful album.

I was more of a Symphony of Enchanted Lands guy.

Symphony of Enchanted Lands is awesome, I also dig the EP Rain of a thousand flames, love those tracks. Queen of the dark horizon, woo.. classic shit.

My guess is that Luca wants to do his solo projects more than he wants to do Rhapsody. He started pumping out solos albums around every corner and Rhapsody even had a break before this new album. I guess he didn't sell too well with his solo stuff, so he went back to the cash-in ;)

  12. It may sound like a really depressing thread, but I guess sometimes we just wanna get our anger out!

I just heard the newest Rhapsody (of Fire) album, and it really sucks IMO.

All their in-your-face glory, memorable themes and epic narration has been turned to dust to me.

Symphony of Enchanted Lands II was great, had a lot of great tunes.. It was like a climax for the band, then the Triumph or Agony album came and spit in my face lol

Now Frozen Tears of Angels... man... what a dissapointment.

It's like the arrangement and guitar stuff is all over the place with no particular meaning. The same goes for the vocal tones.

I just wish they got their music into focus, making solid stuff again.

  13. Love that video. You two must submit please:puppyeyes:

Not quite sure, we did what we wanted to do with that Legend of Dragoon remix, not many of the tunes in the soundtrack we feel like remixing outside what we've done.. :)

  14. Just finished red Dead Redemption, and I gotta say it had a really great climax.

It was very western for lack of a better word.

HELL yeah man.. I finished it today, 2 hours ago, really nice climax.

Overall, great game.. don't think I am patient enough to get 100% on the game though.. I am not much of a trophy & get EVERYTHING geek, feels too much like a chore.

  15. Awesome game, awesome Motoi, awesome Sakuraba. Soundtrack is awesome. It deserves an album project, but I'd settle for a few great non-techno remixes. ;-)

HELLYEAH man.. I love that game too, I was playing tons of modern halv-assed games like the stupid and cliche Uncharted 2 while I was EAGERLY anticipating Star Ocean 4, and I was in heaven, getting a complete RPG world with lots of big events again, gotta love that stuff, epic music pounding on all the time, something that is a dying art.

  16. Both Last Story and Xenoblade feature action battle systems, or so I've heard. If you want turn-based RPG goodness there's always the incredibly-unimaginative (perhaps in a good way) Arc Rise Fantasia out next month.

Right now Last Story's main hub city is what's got me most excited for the game.

The man behind Tales of Symphonia is the man behind Arc Rise Fantasia I believe... I'll buy it. Since Tales of Graces doesn't seem to be planning a US release, curse them lol.

Well, if you see how the Western people hack on J-RPG's these days, many saying they want the J-RPG genre dead etc. I don't blame Namco for not releasing all their titles worldwide.
