  1. I just like to say, this game is truly a beautiful experience, and I absolutely love it. That's all.

EDIT: This thread is not necessarily about selling the game to trolls. It's about starting a mellow discussion among those who've played it, and if others are interested in it, read a few posts down for the review you can't read due to the fact that you are an-alphabet lol (Probably? If you're not, I am sorry - you're one of the good guys).

Don't be a hussy, open the book of magic...

... and experience something entirely different.

  2. This is horrible news.. HORRIBLE.. Portnoy's departure to me, is like saying: The band is dead. He was the ultimate drive within the band.

Oh-well.. looking forward to seeing what Portnoy does next.

EDIT: Alright now I am PIST OFF.. I just read Portnoy's own words on the Dream Theater site.. I read this: I honestly hoped the band could simply agree with me to taking a bit of a "hiatus" to recharge our batteries and "save me from ourselves". Sadly, in discussing this with the guys, they determined they do not share my feelings and have decided to continue without me rather than take a breather.

FUCK the guys in Dream Theater I say... cold F'n bastards!

  3. Holy shit, Dan. This is amazing. The guitar performance is crazy good. I don't think I've ever heard you play that fast, and it doesn't sound mechanical at all. The synths sound great, as usual. They have a very analog feel and it fits perfectly with the song. The production is really clean, the arrangement is awesome... quality remix guys. :)

Thanks pal! Long time no see, how's your own ReMix craziness going?!

OMFG is all I gots to say lol.

OMFG thanks for the comment back at you.. may metal take us all into the darkness! \m/

  4. So Guitar Rig 4 isn't good for heavy metal kind of guitars?

This disappoints me, because I know own Guitar Rig 4 that came free with an expensive interface... but I WILL make this happen!

I WILL SHOW YOU ALL THAT I CAN CREATE GREAT METAL RHYTHM GUITAR TONES WITH GUITAR RIG 4! *proceeds to gloat to self and walks away mumbling*

You can make great sound with Guitar rig, we only use guitar rig for our stuff. But if you're going live a lot, I wouldn't rely on Guitar rig.

    Peace!

  5. This is pretty good. I can hear some production value. One thing I noticed is that you set the compression too high to get it louder (I can hear it soft clipping, which is a bummer). The drums are arranged, and they sound it. Nothing bad there, just maybe a little more velocity and humanization changes could be made to give it that rock drummer feel. The guitars might be a smidge loud as well, but nothing unbearable there. The vocals are a nice touch, and the delay/verb setting suits it well. The bass is a little muddy and I can't quite hear what it's doing, but I know it's there. Maybe a little cut around 1500-200 Hz would clear it up (or a boost at 1K to give it more definition). All in all, it's a decent track that suits the theme well. Good job guys :-)

    Hi, glad you like it!

We often go for the more Pantera mix between bass and guitars where they unify into one sound. But in large section of the tune the bass is very present as the main focus in the backing.

The drums are in your face just the way we want it, we love it when it's played very tight. We could make it more 'human' in every little detail, but we prefer not to. We don't see the negative in doing and making sounds that aren't always natural to perform in real. The magic of computer composing ;)

  6. No. No no no no no no. This is the same Hollywood pitfall other games and series have fallen into, and I do not want it to happen to Metroid. Metroid's awesome BECAUSE there is minimal story, BECAUSE it's all isolated exploration. That's why I'm not buying Other M (I'll borrow it and try it out first instead).

I realize I'm a bit of an extremist, but I loved Metroid, Super Metroid, and Metroid Prime because you were alone completely, no one to interfere. Sure, it feels empty, that's the point. Can you imagine the opening room of Phendrana Drifts if some idiot Galactic Federation trooper were there to welcome you? Even Prime 2 felt like it had a tad too much interaction, with having to go back to U-Mos every once in a while, but it was acceptable. Prime 3 was fun, but definitely not a Metroid game in the more strict definition (read: SERIOUS GAMERS LIKE MYSELF, WHO TAKE GAMES SERIOUSLY BECAUSE WE ARE SERIOUS GAMERS you get the point).

I totally respect your opinion! Most people Love Sonic, Metroid, Mario and Zelda for the same reason, that they keep it simple. To me though Metroid wasn't quite that kind of game, I always thought it looked like something more, that wasn't explored, so to me, getting a big story in a Metroid game is a dream coming true. BUT, if they don't give it a full effort, it's a horrible choice to go that way.

  7. So... we love Mortal Kombat, decided to do a ReMake, and here it is!

Actually we finished this one quite some time ago, but got a little lazy on actually releasing it.

It's one of our personal favorites of what we've done.

It contains Frank Johansen's wicked Vocals. Hope it is enjoyed...

We might make a video too, already tried but horrible lack of quality footage of Scorpion and Sub-Zero fighting. Oh well.. ENJOY! YEAH!!

  8. This hearkens back to something I saw on /v/ once: MSpaint comic of someone complaining about these awesome games out for the Wii and saying "This is cool but it'd be better on PS3/360" and, when finally asked why he doesn't just get a Wii, he responds with "the Wii has no good games."

Lol, well, the Wii has no good games! LOL

Personally I prefer HD resolution and a good controller. But I'd get this for the wii anyway, but I would undoubtedly prefer a PS3 release. No denying that. I love the PS3 controller -- hate the Wii controller. Sad but true.

  9. so if i prefer studio music i'm not open minded enough ?

I consider myself very open minded myself, and we both prefer studio music.

I know a lot of friends who are very stiff about the few bands or band they listen to, many follow the band(s) on tour and often they are quite obsessed about them.

I guess one of their reasons for going is: WOW I was in the same room as those guys! Now THAT'S an experience! lol

    :D

  10. This is why you go to see
    bands...

As for the stink of humanity, just carry some frebreeze bombs re-engineered from the classic stink bomb designs utilized back in high school. Release them soon as your nose starts to ache and your eyes water up.

    Or you know... man up.

Shit women go to them and if their "dainty" sense of smell can handle the BO, I'm sure you can...

Well, since the smell was the reply focus you obviously didn't pay attention to my other reasons that far exceeds smell lol. I just don't prefer it for the MANY reasons I listed.

Pay attention before you reply next time ;)

  11. youre missing out

Missing out on what? Annoying smelly people screaming in my ear, I can only view the concert from one perspective and these days most bands are lazy live, if a band came and gave a performance like Metallica did in the late 80's/early 90's I would consider going. But these days, I'd say it's just a waste of cash. I have a lot of live DVD's.. I prefer those due to excellent editing fitting the tracks, multiple angles and the sound has been mastered.

So I stick to the old DVD's from the days live music meant more.

I find real concerts really annoying. lol

  12. That's why it would've be hilariously awesome.

When you put it that way, it would be kind of entertaining, he could be the first one to die or something. But he'd never agree to that as he seldom even accept taking a hit on screen lol.

  13. I think It's a shame that Kurt Russell, Jean Claude Van Damme and even fucking steven seagal turned down roles for it - would've made it complete!

I shrunk my signature :( happy?

Segal lol He wouldn't fit in at all IMO.

Jean Claude would though.. But he chose to do his mediocre drama instead.

This movie is gonna kick ass!!!
