  1. Sounds good man! My comments/suggestions: - You start with an electronic build-up which is good, but should have some phaser effect to make it a bit more interesting imo - A bigger point is that the percussion is by far not powerful enough. You need orchestral bass drums that create the tension and give depth to the mix. These sound more like thuds than like deep, resonant bass drums. They lack punch - The transition at 1:04 doesn't work too well imo. A bigger crescendo before will have more effect (and I would add a last beat on the percussion at 1:04) - The piano misses the high end frequency and should be boosted in volume a bit - At 1:47 I think your background strings should be boosted in volume a bit to increase the tension of the mix - The 'melody' strings at 1:59 is a little too late (timing-wise) - The brass in the section afterwards is is just a tiny bit too late (such as at 2:58 ) (or the percussion is, but they're not in synch). - I would add another climax at 3:22, otherwise the mix just bleeds out from 2:29 Like always, just my opinion. And like I already said: I like the arrangement!
  2. Wow, awesome arrangement man! The few suggestions/comments I have: I think I would start the piece with a small section without drums to pull people further in (so starting the drums at 0:09). Things don't flow as well around 2:13 - some notes are cut-off too soon and the timing is sometimes slightly off (which is more prevalent in staccato parts) I think I would change the left-hand there; it overpowers the bassline now (and the melody for that matter) and the continued hammering of those low notes keeps a long sustain which is just a wall of sound (more prevalent in your second version since you boosted the volume there). I think alternating between such bass notes and higher-octave three-note chords (with keeping the bassnote of that chord constant and which you can play more frequently without making the piece too muddy) will be better. At least don't use two bass notes in that section, that would clear a lot up I think. But that's just my opinion of course Aside from that section, great work!
  3. Alright, good to hear guys. On a different note: many of our songs are awesome for halloween. Just sayin'
  4. Only three days left until I need an update from seven of you; we're in the home stretch so pump out those final(ish) versions!
  5. BadAss 1 & 2 director David L. Puga (formerly The Joker) has joined the fray with a mix of Wesker's theme from Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles! This brings our total number of mixes to 21, but I have not recieved an update from neshead80 or SkyRiderX, so the final number might be lower. I was aiming for 15 - 20 (high quality) mixes on the album, so we're definitely going to reach that target (and maybe score a little bit higher)
  6. You're breaking my balls here man alright: you got one more month, but then I REALLY need an update for the Sturm track; otherwise I'll bench it
  7. We've got another finished song; I don't think you'll be expecting this one, but it's a really awesome mix by XPRTnovice On a different note: there are four mixes for which I need an update this month (which is almost over). I know Alex is waiting on his vocals, how about the rest?
  8. AAAAAaaannnnd.... Wav #7 is in! The French phenomenon mister Alex Mourey completed his awesome Pokémon mix! Who's next?
  9. So basically you're just lazy just kidding man, those are some serious messed up things... I can only assume everyone wants you to take your time; health (mental or physical) is much more important than online music
  10. I agree, another fine addition to our album! And that also means all of our mixes have been upgraded to 'Substantial WIP' within the deadline. Great work guys, I'm very happy that progress has been steady and according to the planning
  11. Wow, I didn't expect such an emotional ending. This season felt a lot like TLA in my opinion, but more mature - more emotional. Great season
  12. You can always get back on if you send me a substantial wip
  13. Got it, changed your mix to 'substantial wip' status. Well, you still have untill December to get me a substantial wip and untill the end of the year to finish the song. I'm sure you'll manage
  14. I know, I've asked your collab-partner to send his updated version
  15. We have five finished mixes and two that are very close to being done - we're going in the right direction Remember that from September, I will no longer accept anything but Substantial WIPs: newcomer or existing mixes. We now have two mixes left in the yellow and the one from Brandon who have two weeks to get me a substantial version. That'll be all
  16. I want to clarify on that - you don't need to finish it within one month. Our final deadline is in December. However, we will only be taking substantial wips from this month because the risk of someone not being able to finish it on time is too big otherwise. Substantial wips means that the arrangement of the mix is practically done
  17. Get the Hulu extension for Chrome and you can just watch it on nick.com - it changes your IP to one from the US
  18. Alright, everybody's tracks should be feedbacked by the three of us. We're approaching August, meaning that everybody needs to have a substantial WIP in a month (although many mixes have already progressed to 'substantial' status). All in all, everything's going on track (I've already spoken to hakstock) AND in August I'll finally hear Brandon's mix
  19. 100% done? Lies! I don't believe it! Quickly, somebody pull their track!
