  1. 20 GB PS3 has been discontinued. http://gamesarefun.com/news.php?newsid=7672 EDIT: ...except in Japan. http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/12/20-gb-ps3-is-still-alive-in-japan/
  2. Change of pace: according to Nibris, Sadness is still in development and an official statement will be released later this week. I'm keeping my expectations low, just in case.
  3. I already have RE4 for GCN, but I'm tempted to get the Wii version when it comes out. Along with the features already mentioned, it will also have the added extras from the PS2 version (link) Plus, I don't like having a game stored on 2 discs instead of just one like it should've been from the start. If the graphics will be on par with the GCN version, then I'll definitely get it. I could trade in my GCN copy towards this purchase.
  4. I've been trying to finish all 50 stages in easy mode; I got up to 48 before losing. I found that the more maze-like you make your defenses, the better; anything that forces those little guys to turn as much as possible. I could use some more tips, though.
  5. The underground scrolling level in Donut Plains has 3 exits, but it's shown as a small red dot. It's the same with the Cheese Bridge level (main exit + hidden exit + Yoshi wings). Also, each level opens either 1 or 2 paths when completed.
  6. I know Vanilla Dome has at least one level marked with a large yellow dot. I don't know what the difference is between big-dot levels and small-dot levels, though.

  8. I just don't understand why Nintendo is forcing this friend code bullshit, even if only for the DS. One code per system should be enough. After all, even if the whole world knows your code, no one can reach you until you add someone else's code to your roster (unless someone threatened you or something, but realistically that's very unlikely). And yes, I know friend codes aren't even needed when you play against strangers, but especially since the service is free, you'll end up facing a bunch of dickheads who'll disconnect the moment they start losing. That's far less likely to happen when playing with friends, even if they're just people you know whom you've never met in person. And for that reason, having to add a friend code for each game will discourage players from playing online at all, if not for a long time. Case in point, the last time I played my DS online was about 2 months ago, and the time before that was about 4 months earlier. If the Wii really does get the same treatment, then fuck that shit; I may not bother playing a Wii game online at all.
  9. I hope this one revises the missions systems that ZX had, if the sequel will use one as well. Having to go to a data room to accept a mission, going back after completing it, and being able to do only one mission at a time all annoyed the hell out of me. Plus, it defeated the point of having the Metroid-esque exploration because certain items or characters appear at certain locations only after accepting a mission, even if you've been there already.
  10. I've been keeping away from DKR DS for several reasons, mainly because of the touch-based stuff. I'm curious though, has sliding for the car really been removed? And for the plane and hovercraft as well? (in the case of the hovercraft, it hops instead of sliding) As for the balloons, all I know is that there were 47 in the original.
  11. Most game review sites have a bad habit of judging games (particularly Nintendo games) too harshly, especially as of recently. I own several games that scored in the 6 - 7/10 range on most sites, but said games deserve at least an 8 after I had a go at them. Rather than go by what they say, it's best to rent in case you have your doubts. After all, since when do the opinions of a single person or select group of people represent those of every gamer? In the case of DKR DS, I can understand the touch-based challenges and the removal of sliding being frustrating, but it should more than stand up to the original in other respects: extra tracks, track editor, online multiplayer with up to 6 players at a time, etc.
  12. You have 3 lives per continue, but by default, you can continue as many times as you like. You also have the option to limit the number of continues you start with via the options menu.
  13. b = bit B = byte = 8 bits THERE IS A DIFFERENCE I have a 30GB iPod (more like 27.82 GB) and I'm quite content with it, especially since I didn't pay even a penny for it. I got lucky and found it in a taxi. However, if I didn't have one and wanted to get an mp3 player, I'd probably go with the Zen. Then again, all the music I have takes up less than 1 GB, and I don't watch videos on the go, so a flash-based player would be good enough for me. Also, this is my first post since the death of UnMod. :[
  14. So there was a Halo game in the works for DS, but it got cancelled. http://www.gametab.com/news/779250/ True or not, Halo on DS would be fucking sweet, needless to say.
  15. If you checked out my thread in Unmod, you know that I got a free iPod yesterday. Anyway, I had to format it in order to use it with Windows and I transferred my music to it; works fine so far. My only problem is that I want it to play only one song at a time instead of automatically playing the next song when the previous one ends. It did just that when I tried it out when I first got it, so how do I change it back?
  16. I haven't seen this posted yet. Sony's PS3 Dissappointment Timeline http://www.gamespot.com/pages/forums/show_msgs.php?topic_id=25247543
  17. Not really red blood, but bodily fluid that comes out of enemies when you strike them, which is either green or blue. That's what I meant by the word bleeding.
  18. I liked the block puzzle in the ice dungeon. It was just the right amount of challenge for me to solve. That said, I also enjoyed the 3 block puzzles in that hidden cave where you find a piece of heart. Also, has anyone noticed that enemies don't bleed anymore when you attack them? To my knowledge, OoT and MM are the only Zelda games that have that little feature.
  19. Whoa, really? Now that I have all the upgrades, I should go back, especially since I haven't got to really use the magic armor yet.
  20. The first and only time I made it through the cave of ordeals, I used a bottle of soup from the yeti's place and a fairy, and I didn't have the magic armor or any upgrades. Also, the redeads disappointed me; they're not as scary as I was expecting. The ones from OoT gave me nightmares for weeks, and for good reason. They were creepy, naked, shit-colored zombies that moaned disturbingly and froze you with blood-curdling screams so they can come up to you and buttrape you to death. The TP ones are clothed with bandages, they don't moan, they freeze you with loud but unscary screams and try to kill you with a bigass sword rather than their pelvic region.
  21. I'm looking for an article (I think it was on Joystiq) that talks about this software that converts video files into the format that the Wii supports, but so far I haven't found it yet. Help plz. EDIT: nvm, I found it.
  22. 3598 total for the suit, unless you do the sidequest then it's 1798. Well, I was thinking 1000 for that bridge, and 2000 more for opening a shop in Hyrule Castletown, and then 1000 more for that heart piece (by donating to that guy by the east entrance of Castletown). When I did the sidequests, I paid 1000 rupees for the bridge and at first I paid 100 or 200 towards the shop. I came back later in the game to pay the rest and I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I only had to pay 200 rupees instead of 1800 - 1900 more; those gorons got the rest on their own, apparently.
  23. I waited about 45 minutes outside Nintendo World on the 20th with no preorder. They had 2 big piles of Wiis; about 50 - 70 or so in all. Also, anyone know where I can buy a USB-powered battery charger? One that uses a plug is still fine, but I'd prefer a USB-powered one so that I don't have to deal with outlets when I travel with my family. The hotels we stay in don't have many outlets, and the ones that are within reach are taken up by cell phone chargers, a portable DVD player, and other stuff; it's hard enough to find a spot to charge my DS.
