Game developer Pixeljam Games has gathered a group of musicians with roots in the IDM scene of the early 2000s and released their second compilation album featuring mostly electronic music, Pixeljams Volume 2: https://pixeljam.bandcamp.com/album/pixeljams-volume-2 The album features electronic musicians, game composers, and game developers including: Datassette (FEZ: Side F, remixes for Royskopp) Ochre (game music remixer, IDM artist) Miles Tilmann (Co-founder of Pixeljam Games, IDM artist) Mark DeNardo (primary composer at Pixeljam Games, working on most of their 20+ titles) Keepalive aka Jeremy Flower (electronic artist touring worldwide) Donkey Koch aka David Kanaga (Proteus, Dyad and Panoramical) Alex Mauer (Co-founder of Imagos Softworks, chiptune pioneer, composer of Starr Mazer) It's a project near and dear to my heart as somebody who has roots in the demoscene, and saw many of those artists enter the IDM scene. I know there are a lot of demosceners here, too, so thought some people might care. Enjoy!

Thought fans of Robyn Miller's work on Myst and Riven would want to know that he's released the soundtrack to their spiritual successor, Obduction, which itself was just released yesterday after a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2013. Ghost Police, a 2D shmup combining Game Boy/NES graphical styles being released with A) a licensed soundtrack or an original soundtrack by Jake Kaufman using the N163 sound chip if this campaign is successful: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/903742818/jake-kaufman-soundtrack-for-ghost-police That's right, the campaign is solely to fund Jake's music. Yet another Kickstarter, but this time there's a social message about the plight of those working on the ship breaking industry as well as hopes to include music by Hiroki Kikuta and Dale North. Wanted to let everyone know that [NUREN] The New Renaissance is on Kickstarter in its final week: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/916717037/nuren-the-new-renaissance It blurs the lines between film, videogames, and music and is a feature-length experience that be enjoyed in VR or with traditional mouse and monitor. Created by virt and vocalist Jessie Seely (Double Dragon Neon), with contributions from Vince DiCola & Kenny Meriedeth (Transformers) and Chris Huelsbeck (Turrican). They also just announced that $50 pledges will snag The Complete Virt Collection, which will include all of his Bandcamp music and lots of unreleased soundtracks and demoscene tunes. If you dig, help spread the word!

Best way to help right now is to spread the word as much as possible. As the first event without a history behind it the challenge is getting people to know it event exists.

It's called "10 Stories," and he's releasing one song every 2-3 months with a full album release in the spring of 2010. The album will be translated into English after the Japanese release date. Seriously, man. Let's avoid the drama. Ahnyway, it's your job to get your music out there to as many people as possible, so don't worry about it. It'd be awesome if OCR started hosting this stuff though. There's a ton of stuff that has been released online for free, and I think OCR is the perfect venue to do that. Anyway, sorry for getting sidetracked. I still need to listen to your music!

Just want to say in defense of this forbidden site, it shouldn't be lumped together with garbage like GH. I know a lot of the guys, and while I don't always agree with what they do, I'll tell you that they are pretty careful and thoughtful about what they post. Also, I would hope that most of us are dedicated enough to this area of music to actually purchase a CD when it's something we listen to regularly. I admit to downloading a large amount of music, but I also buy a lot too. Hard to gamble $30 away on a soundtrack that may or may not be any good. And hey, in a lot of cases, you might end up getting exposed to something you would have missed otherwise. I guess the ideal situation would be for every label/company to post samples, but that doesn't seem to happen on a regular basis, and it's still difficult at times to gauge an album even with samples in hand. I doubt I have to tell you guys that some people view OCR unfavorably as well. While nobody makes money from their contributions to OCR, and there technically isn't any lost reveue on the side of the game company, it provides competition for whatever the company might have in mind for their music. Also, it's all copyrighted material any way you look at it, so I don't see how anyone can take the moral high-ground.
