  1. We just had a big storm last night, with tornadoes in the area and all that good stuff. I had my laptop up to keep an eye on the radar when we had a very near lightning strike which cut our power out for a few seconds. Usually if you cut the power, the laptop will keep running with the battery, but here it shut it off completely.

Now when I try to turn it on, I get no response except for the power light flashing briefly when I let go of the power button. I'm going to take it in tomorrow but is this something that even sounds fixable (replacing power supply or whatever)? Or if not, at least recovering everything I have on it?

  2. Wow, that source tune is very similar to Chrono Trigger's "Guardia Castle" theme.

Checked out this mix cause' we need some more Mario Party love here. The sounds are a little generic and it sounds like you've got reverb awash over everything. Even though you're using different synths, they all sound the same. Get some variety in there! :) The melodies are kinda aimless, and this definitely needs some drumwork to pull the track along. Just keep working at it.

  3. Help me out here, what does "wet" actually mean?

"100% wet" means that the plugin unit affects the entire signal going through. "50% wet" would mean that half of the signal goes through unaffected, with the other half being affected by the distortion and reverb unit (in this case).

    He's joking btw. :)

  4. Sup guys, I'm pleased to announce my debut album release, "One Day Millennium" with the newly formed Protagonist Records label!

    Track listing:

    1. White Rain
    2. Time's Eye
    3. Old School Style
    4. Visions (featuring violin by Jeff Ball)
    5. Lockdown Breach
    6. Vintage Metropolis (featuring guitar by Nekofrog and Andrew Luers)
    7. He's A Pirate (Audix Remix)
    8. Laws of Motion
    9. Christmas Epic
    10. Mystique (featuring guitar by Cain McCormack)
    11. Rapture Dawn

    Total time: 50:05

Stylistically, the album revolves around melodic trance/dance and breakbeats, with an emphasis on strong, memorable melodies. Several of the tracks have won multiple awards on Ourstage and Soundclick and the album features a completely remastered version of the youtube hit remix, "He's A Pirate (Audix remix)."

  5. It starts promising, but it's just way too repetitive. You've pretty much got the same motif over and over for 2 1/2 minutes. To make OCR you're going to need to work on arrangement quite a bit. I was really hoping you'd work the piano melody in to break up the monotony.

With that said, production sounds good. Beatwork is minimal but sounds clear and clean. You've got a winner here if you can work on some more interesting arrangement. :)

  6. I started playing piano around my junior year of high school. I'm not "as good as" those who have been playing much longer, but I'm decent. Who knows, you might have some untapped musical ability down there somewhere...go for it. :)
