  1. Anyone doing Alien Power? I can't really get anything going with Violent Breathing, so whoever swapped with me can have it back, if they want. Edit: Oh wait, it's just SOR1 tunes, isn't it. What if the project was stretched to the trilogy? It could give people more time and invite more composers to take part.
  2. I haven't got notifications on this recently (prob the forum update). No further progress on my remix unfortunately, but I suppose playing the level might help jog something. I still want to be involved, but I can't operate at the same capacity as others. My methods are more spontaneous/inspiration driven. And I 'screen' a lot of my attempts, as it were.
  3. There's always the option to record from an emulator. Most emulators are able to take Wav recordings of the Rom's audio.
  4. Hey I got what I have of Violent Breathing so far uploaded. I couldn't find the Google Drive link so just put it on WeTransfer.
  5. Ok, so I'm doing Violent Breathing as Brandon was kind enough to swap with me (Fighting In The Street). Thanks again, dude. Really hoping I'll pull this one off as it's the remix I've most wanted to update (last made in 2005) and my favourite song from the series. It's also one of the tracks that got me into making music.
  6. Thanks a lot for switching tracks with me on the SOR album. Really appreciate it and hopefully I can contribute something special to the project. :)

  7. Sorry guys. I think I'm gonna have to bow out again. The only way I can be part of this right now is if you choose one of my existing remixes on YouTube. Keep in mind that they still haven't exactly been heard by many. I'd submit my Wave 131 or Dreamer for here, if I could. But it's having to remix a specific song to a deadline I struggle with. That's why I've never had much luck with OCR albums.
  8. Hmm, you know it might be safer to just use one of my existing remixes. Whenever I try to make something for an OCR album, it just never happens (I was invited to a Zelda project a few years back, but didn't really manage anything). Perhaps you should add that 'Mutant Reconstruction Mix' I did in 2012. I've done some nice ones from the 2nd game. Really proud of my Go Straight, Dreamer and Wave 131 interpretations.
  9. Thanks Garpocalypse for bringing this to my attention. I'm going for Fighting In The Street. I've done versions of it already: (basically, a dub/progressive version of the one above)Hoping to try something more ravey for my 3rd version like (1:01 for reference). FITS is quite tame compared to Go Straight, so I like to toughen it up a bit.
  10. Why? I shouldn't need to make it overly different. That's something I've found with you people. You don't seem to quite get that sometimes people make remixes for fun. Sometimes it is just the same thing in a different style. I did this as a kind of bonus track. The day I made it, I didn't know I would be until about 9pm. Maybe the arrangement's identical, but the style is me. Btw, 1 and a half hours, not 5. 5hrs before I finished it, I didn't know I'd be making it.
  11. A little something I put together last night. It kinda marks a change to my youtube channel (video annotations will explain). Similar kind of style to Star Light Zone (and the reconstruction-remix I did of it).
  12. Did this one as a celebration (it's an insider kind of thing for my remix YT channel). Influcenced by Alphazone et al. Club Mix formula, so you're in for the long haul, if you can handle it.
  13. Ok, I just got done remixing this again. Major improvement for obvious reasons. heheh. This new one is inspired by the Nu Disco style that's been going since the noughties (check out Lovebirds tracks like "U Give Me", "Out In The Night" for examples). It's long but it does go somewhere. Due to the tempo being quite slow (close to the original), the time really adds up. But basically, it's Club Mix style. I've got a 1min+ intro and outro for it and I use a variation of Yuzo's themes (incl. the almost-identical Round 5 from SOR2) inbetween.
  14. Just made an alternate version Inspired by Mystical Ninja 2/Goemon's Great Adventure, I created a night version of the song. There's also an mp3 available of the Night Version & Rebuild B2B for a more authentic GGA atmosphere.
  15. The drums come from the 'oldschool ana' preset in z3ta with a very low cutoff. At the peak it's more of a buzz, but the lower the cutoff, the bassier it gets. The reason I kept the 'Saria bit' light was for contrast. The whole thing about Cube is that it has an overall gloomy atmosphere. Think of the Lost Woods melody as the oasis in the dark atmosphere of Cube. It sounds like the melodies don't match, but they do. It's just a little unusual.
  16. Here I decided to try something a little different. The other day it occured to me how much the Lost Woods are like the rooms of Cube, that sci-fi horror flick by Vincenzo Natali. I decided to blend the theme with elements of Mark Korven's main theme for Cube. One of my shorter remixes too, so it could potentially be up on here, but I'm really not all that bothered by OCR submissions. Just listen and enjoy Cube Theme:
  17. Thank you, one and all. Very much appreciating that last reply there. I think on OCR people tend to expect a little too much and get bogged down in flaws. And even though you highlighted some yourself, you noticed some of the quirks I put in there, which is cool to see. I'm always pleased when people catch a little something in the remix that might not be obvious to everyone.
  18. Just a heads up: This remix is long. lol 11mins. I wanted to go the extra mile for such a legendary tune. The remix flips between Classical and Ambient a few times, as there are traditional orchestral sounds, but also some futuristic Vangelis-y sounds present. I have implemented some other Zelda tunes, as well as my own original intro and outro, into the song before the fountain theme itself kicks in. I'm really proud of this one. I feel there's quite a bit of variety in it. And I like the little tease I did just before the fountain theme kicks in. Any criticism is fine. I'm on a bit of a high. lol
  19. It's kind of like a hybrid of old and new, while at the same time being something quite rough. I quite like to think of it as 'Rough House' and I hope to experiement more with the style in future. Only 5mins long, it follows the original closely in terms of arrangement. I just used more extreme sounds in places. Kind of like the badassery of that Kill Bill song, I like to think of this as the SOR equivalent. Take a listen:
  20. Back in January, I did a reconstruction remix of Wave Race 64's "Config" music, which had a distinct 90s Bossa Nova style. I have made a somewhat identical remix, enhancing various elements I used before, such as an accompanying synth with the bass, similar to Motoi's original. Wave Race 64 'Config' Reconstruction: Shy Guy Desert Remix: Shu Guy Desert (Original):
  21. Uh huh... Well, the EP probably isn't happening. It was a College project I was hoping would be released on iTunes and other mp3 stores, but nothing's happened. Not sure what I'm gonna do with it.
  22. The thing with ambient is that it can be any length. My main source of inspiration is Vangelis and he's done some that are nearly 20 minutes long. Ambient is about expression, perhaps more than any other genre, so duration isn't really important. Also, what's wrong with 1:54? I'd appreciate you explaining it with more words. Other people loved that transition leading into the main theme. PS: I posted a 2012 version, which is 4mins.
