  1. Thanks. Well, if I do improve on it, it'll be the next time I attempt it. It probably sounds unprofessional, but I don't really work my ass off to get one song just right. Though I do all I can to make sure I'm happy with how it turns out in regards to the sounds I have available at the time. I really like the melody in the song, so it's one I'll definitely return to at a later date. As for the fizzy sound, it does have chords to it, though I agree it's not as easy to tell as with the other sounds. But thanks for your input.
  2. Ah it shouldn't matter how you remix. It's still a version of a recognisable song but in your own style. And yeah you should totally put up some MP3s man, and for the Sonic ones too.
  3. Yeah, it's cool you have more traditional methods of creating music. I've been learning a bit of keyboard skills in Logic at College so this is the kind of thing it's going towards.
  4. Excellent set of remixes here. Hard to choose favourites. I like most of them. I thought the Chemical Plant and Casino Night ones were a little weaker than the others, but that's probably down to personal preference. Still, keep doing what you're doing. It works more often than not. Really impressed with your skills!
  5. I'm a big fan of the SOR series so I thought I'd check these out. Amazing job! I've used a bit of Logic at College so it's cool to see what else can be done with it. Really great interepretations of the classic songs. I particularly like the Ending and Stage 4 out of that lot. I'm actually working on Stage 1. Not sure if I'll get it done. If not, I guess it's just good practice for when I finally get it right Hey, I'm guilty of this too. I'm aware that some people on OCR make mozart-remixes in that they add so much more to what's there. But I believe remixing is about paying tribute, so sometimes you don't have to overly change something which was already great to begin with.
  6. Alright Another ambient tribute done. This time of the 1998 Mystical Ninja game on the N64. I was quite impressed I was able to put this together considering the original is a 30-or-so second loop. Since many people probably don't know this one, I'll post both the original and my interpretation below: Original: Mine: Expect a similar kind of feel to my previous remixes. Repetitive, but with a hint of progression. I gradually bring in more instruments as the track goes on. The quality in the video isn't too clear. But as always, I provide the MP3 so it doesn't matter too much. Hope you enjoy
  7. Well, getting started isn't much of an issue, since I've at least done that. I'm just a little concerned about how long I have. Inspiration comes and goes for me.

  8. Hey, just wanted to ask: Is there a deadline for the Hylian Melodies remixes?

  9. My mastering isn't great. Also, about the volume, it's quiet in the video but I later replaced the download MP3 with higher volume. I wasn't trying to do anything new with the song, just bringing it into modern day respectfully, while un-looping it and arranging it as a song. Thus why it's called a Rebuild (a play on remix, yes, but it's more descriptive). Don't expect anything overworked, just enjoy it!
  10. Glad to hear it! I've gotta work on the Hylian Project remix some more, but I've had some thought about what my third non-project remix could be...
  11. Some kinda neo-organ I guess lol I never really remember what I use because I spend so long looking for it. That's why I cannot lose the project file! haha
  12. Nice little narrative you gave me song, there. hehe Thanks. Glad it fitted in with the game Oh I emailed it to them but I'm not sure what I do next. I also made a mistake in my email. I forgot to change the ID tags to match the filename. Since OCR have remixers as artists I called mine Iceferno - 6 Hours, but the ID tag still says Koji Kondo - Last Day (Clouddrifter Rebuild) etc. I was thinking I'd wait for the rejection letter and try again with the tags fixed.
  13. Thanks guys These remixes seem to be getting me some exposure. I'm hoping to get something down for the Hylian Melodies project and I replied on your profile page, Theophany.
  14. Ah yeah. I wasn't sure how the PM thing worked on here. I'll try and fix it later. I'd love to contribute to a Majora's Mask project. :) You can use my current remixes, by all means.

  15. It's a shame he got banned. His Zelda: Majora's Mask - Astral Observatory vid helped my remix get more exposure. Though he's got a backup channel so all is not lost.
  16. Ok I think I know what 2 Zelda songs I'd like to combine. :) Epona's Song and Kakariko Village (Twilight Princess Version).

  17. Apologies for the late response. I only just saw I had a PM. Is it too late to contribute? I've made 2 remixes, both of which are from Majora's Mask. Astral Observatory and Last Day (with SFX).
  18. Yeah, your critiques are fair. I wanted some better surrounding pads and synths, but I made the best of what I have, even though I never really use the instruments to their utmost potential and later learn that I have more great sounds. Interesting idea about the nod to Beethoven, and I suppose it could be in a way. I've always liked that lullaby style of plucking. But really, it was linking the moon and the observatory together, with the feeling of impending doom in each regard. Well that's great to know! I may just attempt a submission of this then If I still don't manage it, no biggie. As long as I get at least one remix on here one day. Thanks for your comments. Some positive but also some constructive views. I appreciate it
  19. Well, the Astral Observatory remix was a lot of fun to make, and this one was no different. I put a lot into this and it isn't necessarily just a rebuild of the original song, though it is close. Available to stream on YouTube and as last time, an MP3 link is in the video description: Details of the track are below (in italic and small font as a form of spoiler-proof): • Featuring original MM sound effects! The song starts with 12 bell chimes, signifying 12am on the 3rd night. Rumbles of the moon falling are amongst the bell sounds and intro and at various points in the song. A low-pass and reverb'd kick is also used in this section. • After the main part of Last Day is done, it seems like it repeats, but that's not the case. The intro is heard again, this time with 5 bell chimes, symbolising 5am of the "4th day" • After the Moon's Tear hits, I make things more dramatic by continuing on with what sounds a little like a windup-toybox/piano playing a melancholic version of Astral Observatory. It plays once on it's own and once with lower synth-string accompanyment. • The song finishes with a Moon-fall rumble followed by the low-pass reverb kick I tweaked, depicting the moon crashing.
  20. Thanks for the compliments guys. I actually got a lot of hits on this remix About 200 or so people listened from here and I got about 100 from SilvaGunner's old upload. Shame he's suspended now but hopefully it won't be long before he gets all the MM soundtrack back up on his new YouTube account. Also, I'm about to make another thread on here because I've remixed Last Day!
  21. Thanks for the warm compliments Yeah, that's fair about the repitition, but also I agree it works best in Chillout. I think I may have been partially inspired by the Ambient remixes Michael Woods used to make. They repeated the choruses but somehow kept building on them too. It's strange how this worked out. I just seemed to keep finding the right sounds over and over again. Sometimes I try really hard and no ideas come to mind. But with this it was like "that works, hey that works too! So does that! And that! And that!" lol It was an exciting process for me
  22. Hey guys. It's been about 2 or 3 years since I was last here lol. I'm not able to make game remixes that often. I need a very specific source of inspiration. But anyway... Here's a reconstruction-remix I just finished today of the already-gorgeous Astral Observatory. I haven't changed a whole lot, just kept the essence in there while adding a slight variation in the middle of the track. It would be nice if this could be accepted, but I'm not expecting it. My mastering is never perfect, but I hope it's at least reasonable on this one. It sounds so to me You can stream it on YouTube: A link to the MP3 is in the description. Hope you enjoy PS: Clouddrifter is my alias for Ambient/Chillout. I use several for different styles.
  23. So have you heard a preview of bLiNd's 2008 update? This question could be for bLiNd aswell. I wanna hear it too!
  24. I actually haven't heard much of Industrial Fear. I don't really have enough Trance tools but I was just able to pull off a remake of Temple Trance. I told Jordan I might try Meteorave next... I don't know why, but the TinDeck link seems to have been deleted There's 0sec of song in there now. So I'm not sure about uploading on here unless OCR will allow it as finished? Then maybe I could email attach it, or has OCR uploading changed since I last did it? Last thing I tried upping here was back in 2005...
  25. Did this afew days ago for fun. Here's the TinDeck link to it: http://www.tindeck.com/audio/my/zavi/bLiNd---Temple-Trance-- Quote from bLiNd: "Dude this is SOOO tite!! What an honor Great work man, it makes me want to do my 2008 edition ;)"
