  1. I appreciate you guys completing the mixes... eventhough the source may not have been right for ORC. I'm looking forward to voting.
  2. Most free MMORPGs I've played (the likes of runescape, anarchy online, maple story etc) are fun at first - but as soon as you level up enough times and run out of things to do, become slow and boring. However, Anarchy Online is a decent free game. Worth a download.
  3. Sorry Rexy. I was initially going to spend a lot of time on a PRC entry, but I'm now working on what will hopefully be my first remix to make it to the OCR site.
  4. Ah ok, thanks Rexy. That makes sense. It's impressive that you can create such a good dance track without virtually any knowlede of theory Leah. I take my hat off to you. I couldn't agree more about PRC helping us to improve as musicians and composers - I've learnt so much in all of the PrCs I've entered. I hope it will all prove useful when I finally pluck up the courage to send a remix to OCR to be judged. Thanks again Rexy for devoting your time to yet another PRC. We all appreciate your enthusiasm and commitment.
  5. EDit: Also, out of interest, how much is a first place vote worth in terms of points? And did you vote Leah? I forgot. :/
  6. Congrats Leah. To be honest, I can't remember what key I went with. Come to think of it, the source does sound interestingly dissonant in some parts. Sounds almost like the accompaniment modulates, but the melody stays in the same key. xD Anyway, on another note, I've seriously got to go more mainstream with my compo entries. I just don't think people get my experimental style(s) lmao.
  7. Did you get my zip? It has the mp3 and midi in it.
  8. What? In the community forum?! Shame on you! EDIT: Not sure why this was moved here. Wasn't exactly intended to be a conversation starter, but I suppose it can now be the official olremix-queue-complaint thread. Or... not. I think I've overstayed my welcome. *runs back to competitions forum*
  9. Sounds cool. I might give it a go. EDit: Are we allowed speech synthesiser?
  10. I'd rather try singing than rapping. To be honest, my rapping is probably worse than my singing. xD Might enter the next VOCR for a laugh.
  11. lol ok maybe I should've seen that coming.
  12. A week left? Really?! Wow, in that case I'll pick up where I left off. Thanks Prophet!
  13. and it says: "did you mean: ocremix"? Come to think of it, it's not as funny now as it was about five minutes ago. But I'll post it as my first off-top thread anyway. After all, edgar cockfox is not around to say "GTFO" anymore. Discuss.
  14. I think this is a great competition idea. I can't sing but I'll listen and vote.
  15. Well, I had started a piece. However, at the moment it's just an ambient accompanyment with no melody as such. Therefore, I won't be submitting anything this round. I'll vote though. Good luck all.
  16. Could've done with more development. But I've had a lot on this week. Still, I hope the quality's there even if the quantity isn't. http://www.martin2k.co.uk/forums/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=840
  17. Thank you both. I've come up with a 2 minute piece with 2 distinct sections. It's written for solo piano. I was going to use a nice, realistic VST piano sound and record the midi as audio... but I suppose midi piano will be ok. I'll be PM'ing my piece to TO tomorrow. Hopefully it'll get some attention. Although I just hope the chords and harmonies aren't too complex...
  18. Wow, very close. Thank you for the votes. Unlucky analoq, best of luck in the future. One quick question: I've grasped the fact that I write an original piece for the next competition, but are there any special rules about genres, intrumentation, length etc? And I take it I have to produce a midi?
  19. Ever heard of the style of hardcore electronic music known as "Gabber" or "Gabba"? I'll say no more.
  20. Ok, so I did this today when I was bored (although I could've been putting together a PRC entry, but meh ). This isn't really a WIP, although I may come back to it in the future. The main reason it's only about 1 min 20 secs long, is because the only vocal sample I've used in the whole tune is Anastacia singing "I'm outta love". I don't really listen to dance music, but it's a pretty fun genre to compose/mix in. I'd like to hear what the hardcore dance fans (or as a matter of fact anyone who's willing to C&C) have to say about my little choon. Thanks, Alex. 21. I'd like to think I can enter, but it will depend on how much time I'll have to work on it before the deadline.
  22. I LOVE THIS SOURCE!!! Thank you Rexy! ORC needs more votes
  23. Best of luck analoq. Should be interesting lol.
