I appreciate your post ocremixfan. Some of your feedback has been very helpful. In fact, I'm thinking of cutting a section or two completely and even adding new bits in. Anyway, I'll post another version soon.

Thanks Maquis. I'll be voting. It's just such a shame I couldn't post my entry here on time (you wouldn't believe how badly I manage my time - I'm always late for everything. In fact, I'm known for it lol).

Obviously you need a degree of musical knowledge to "make a song". Therefore, if you are not musically trained in any way, you'd need to get to grips with the more theoretical aspects first (before you start colouring in random blocks and shit).

It doesn't sound like a lot of re-interpretation has gone into your remixes of each source tune. They seem to be very similar to the originals. You have a nicely orchestrated re-arrangement of different tunes here, but this remix needs a greater contrast to the originals in my opinion.

I've been a bit busy with other stuff lately. But I really appreciate your interest Cloral. I've just re-read your post and I'll try cutting out the slower section(s) at some point. Agreed. In fact, a lot of the presets on Sytrus sound worse than a lot of free vsts. They must have just bundled a load of presets in there to fill up the space. I mean, it's not exactly mind-blowing stuff for the amount of money you pay for it, is it? Plus, there's so many presets in there that it's easy for you to get lazy and make the vst do all the work for you. At least with limited, free synths you have to work harder to get the exact sound you want and not just settle on whatever you happen to click on first.

I see what you're saying and I completely agree. It's just that this is meant to be a serious competition at the end of the day. We do have WIP and remixing help forums here on OCR. Surely the best place to post WIPS and ask advice is not here. At the moment this thread looks more like some sort of a project than a competition.

To solve the problem, either identify which plugin(s) is causing the hissing and stop using it all together or obtain the full version of the plugin(s) in question. The demo plugins likely to be causing the trouble are PoiZone, ToxicIII or Sytrus. At least, they were with me when I first got FL7. Hope this helps.
