  1. You're in the way, sir.

Spoony is amazing. I love his stuff. I don't remember how I found it... I wanna say a friend linked me, or maybe it was a chance finding. I dunno, but I found myself not really amused by AVGN anymore, so I was thrilled to find Spoony.

  2. Oo, I love Pavilion of Dorga and Une.

The cymbal thing is kinda grating, to me. Tss tss tss tss tss tss tss tss tss... I like the beginning and the end, but everything in between doesn't deviate too much from the original. I think it'd be awesome if you explored a little more with it, but that's just me.

And I can't really comment on the sounds of things since it's YouTube and they don't play stuff right anyhow.

  3. I kinda like this, actually... Overture from FF6 is great and can always use some lovin'.

Overall, it's a little quiet for me? I understand it's probably supposed to be a quiet piece, it's just a personal pet peeve to listen to music comfortably at one volume, then bam, have to jack it up or down for another track.

I really like this interpretation. I wouldn't mind a little more dramatic-ness thrown into it, particularly towards the end. More violins. More.. something? I'm not sure. And the piano end from 3:40 onwards didn't really work for me. Seemed out of place? It was like, it picked up, then died... :x

I can't wait to see what you do with this.

  4. I love FFT music, so I second (third?) this!

I also have some FFT remixes/arrangements on my computer from here: http://web.archive.org/web/20050503194438/63factory.jp/crystal/

Also from a few other places, possibly? I understand Japanese can be hard to navigate, however, so I'll upload the FFT arrangements I have.

  5. Hm. I have a couple arrangements from FFMQ, as a matter of fact. Two of the boss theme. They were entries in some... Crystal, Square Music Arrangement Festival. Site was in Japanese, therefore I don't know anything about it, aside it was a music compo for Square game music in a strange time signature. The site had a TON of gems from old school Square games but sadly I dunno where the site is.

Anyhoozle, here's the two I have.

Hope you enjoy! Also, there's a pretty killer arrangement of the FFMQ battle music by Ashane out there. Dunno where off the top of my head though. Maybe someone else can link you?

    EDIT: A-ha! Here's the source! http://web.archive.org/web/20050503194438/63factory.jp/crystal/

  6. I'll bite!

I peeked around and didn't see a request for this one already, but The Dark Spire for DS has some really awesome music, imo. I'm particularly partial to the 1st and 2nd floors music:

But really, this album is full of gems. Mid-boss is another I am fond of:

  7. That photoshop just killed me... haha.

Okay, I didn't write up anything immediately afterwards, because I wanted some time to absorb the album so when I wrote about it it wouldn't be a big fapfest. Well, it still is, for the most part, but I do give some honest criticism. :x

So yeah, I wrote up a very informal TL;DR "review" of the album on one of my blogs that no one ever really reads. Figured more exposure couldn't hurt? I didn't review each and every track, though. But yeah, here it is!

The gist of it is that you guys totally rock and are awesomesauce!

  8. Valkyrie Profile! Love this game. Love the music.

Hm... I wish I was better at wording things when it came to music and could actually tell what instrument was what, but I can't. So I kinda have to be vague with this.

The harp? I don't mind. It's.. everything else. Well, not the flute so much. But when the strings hit, they just don't mesh well for me. It just doesn't sound.. good? I wish I could offer actual advice for improvement, but you'd have to ask someone who knows what they're doing. :s

That little.. tinkling sound annoys me too. If it were softer and more in the background, I think I could deal with it. As is, it's kinda up front and center, with the occasional note that's particularly loud compared to the rest.

Overall, I like the beginning, and the harp, but it just kinda peters out from then on, for me. And I can't *clearly* pick the source out - but that could be my own failings right there. I'm not trying to be discouraging or a d-bag or anything. Just don't think it'd help if I wasn't honest. I'm hoping you work with this a bit more, see what you can come up with.
