  1. Congratulations to ProtoDome and apologies to Otaku. I think my voting order shafted you, bro. :'3 But there's always tomorrow.

suzumebachi: I don't have photoshop, that's just what GIMP's painting canvas looks like :/

My full entry can be seen in full size here (link). Bonzai shrunk it to about 74% or so of the original size.

Later harlots, see you next thread. :D

I think my own voting might have shafted me, actually... XD

You have more patience than me if you use GIMP... you ever try Paint Tool SAI?

    Also, congrats to the winnar~

  2. Now that I've added my votes to each battle, voting is closed. I'll be tallying up the votes today. Remember, if you didn't vote in each of the 8 battles, your vote will not count.

Since votes are publicly available, I'd appreciate it if someone else who is not a competitor could do an independent verification and also tally votes. Remember, don't count anyone who hasn't voted in all battles.

On it! A lot of people voted too! It's awesome. So far I've only had to throw out one vote.

  3. The black mages version is incredible. The OST version is so untapped potential imo.

I always preferred calm before the storm (which I will totally claim asap if that happens).

Ooo, that's a really great one too! I'm sure you'd do it justice. XD

And I had forgotten (blocked out?) all about Ultimecia and the end of the game that was just so.. thrown together. Bleh! But FF9 suffered a thrown together wtf last boss too imo. :P

  4. Am I the only person whose favorite, at least soundtrack-wise (though I did get about 10 hours into it) was FF5?

Yes. (Probably not actually. It was good) S'like me wondering if I'm the only person who thinks the FF8 ost is comparatively weak to the rest of the series, sans II.

FFX had a really great soundtrack. I have my fingers crossed that one of the tracks bLiNd took was the Seymour Battle theme. That'd be a delicious combination right there.

Though my musical favorites of the series is IV and XII, and the latter of which isn't even Uematsu material. :o And probably won't see a project or much coverage. Boo.

I don't know if I said it already but Jade directing WA2 in the future also seems awesome and totally gets my approval. I've actually put many hours in that game so I've more attachment invested in that game than the first. XD

  5. Romancing SaGa 3 has an excellent soundtrack. The fact there's a remix from it on this site now gives me hope that it'll get more exposure that it really deserves, since Kenji Ito is the man. (omg even if it's not Uematsu-san!1)

Evil Does Not Cherish is the theme of one of the many characters of the game who is like a hybrid of Zorro and Batman and to me it's one of the stronger tracks of the soundtrack. Catchy and upbeat and generally made of awesome. One of many overlooked gems floating around out there. So hopefully even if no one wants to remix it, it and the soundtrack it comes from will get moar attention.

But if someone were to remix it, I'd totally give them a gold star.

  6. Were the balls white in the original game? (I've never played it.) I always thought red made more sense for dodge balls.

Red dodgeballs are the balls I got pelted in the face with in high school... I remember that!

But I don't remember the color of the dodgeballs in the *actual* game. However when I googled up the game covers and official art the balls were white and offwhite.

  7. I was talking to someone about an idea of mine and they directed me to this thread so I suppose I'll put it down as a suggestion. ^^

There are plenty of people who would love to help with site projects who can't make music in any way shape or form. However, site projects are sometimes rather big so it requires more than just music. There's a matter of forum/web hosting, art, coding (html, css, etc), flash, etc. And there are people who could (and would!) help with these things who don't necessarily have musical talent.

So I think if there was a way for people who have the means to volunteer to help out with non-musical aspects of projects and put that out there, that'd be cool. Be that in a way like a field in profiles (kinda like the collaboration status?) or even just a thread (like that Sale/Want one Prophet has) where people post and someone keeps it updated. I dunno the best way, but it seems like it'd be cool if it could be pulled off.
