  1. Compo: MnP (Meat 'n Potatoes) Howlowe'en Special!! Round 43: Psycho Pinball - Trick or Treat Table I love Psycho Pinball. It is, in my opinion, the best pinball game on the Mega Drive/Genesis. It does not get enough (or any) love, and I feel this should change. Let's get spoooooooky! -Trism Midi: http://compo.thasauce.net/files/materials/MnP43_PsychoPinball-TrickOrTreat.mid Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IA7fSY5AhYA Deadline: October 28th @ 1 pm Thurs Vote Ends: October 30th @ Midnight Sat Submit your remix Here when completed. **If you have technical difficulty with account activation at ThaSauce, please contact me via PM and I will submit your track and will also tally your vote** MISSION STATEMENT The goal of Compo:MnP is to promote that "meat and potatoes" conservative approach to remixing: this includes the mood and composition of source tunes. It is up to the remixer to create their own personalization, or to simply give it a sound upgrade. Moreover, the compo is a great opportunity to hone your remixing skills and give video game music the respect that is due. SOME reinterpretation is recommended, but not required. MnP Instructions/Guidelines 1. Covers and Sound Upgrades are permitted. 2. Most or all of the source notes must be present (but not necessarily in the exact same order), secondly the mood (energy, pacing, feelings being conveyed etc) should also be retained. For example, a source tune that is fast-paced and energetic that's remixed into a mellow/chill-out theme would be a hard sell. 3. If you decide to do a genre swap (i.e. symphonic to techno), make sure that the conditions of #2 are met. 4. Submissions must be at a maximum of 20mb (keeping in step with ThaSauce's file size max). 5. Only 1 entry per participant. Previous winner cannot participate but can submit a BONUS entry. 6. All competitors and voters must adhere to the rules stated within: Competition Code and Conduct MISC/TIPS - When picking a source tune, make sure it has a MIDI to make ppl's lives easier. - In-game sound FX are permitted, so long as they don't comprise the whole track (i.e. replacing entire MIDI tracks with just sfx) - Certain sad or moody source tunes don't have drums or percussion for a reason. So keeping it that way may be the easiest way to retain much of the original feel, such as and
  2. NICE totally missed that you subbed your MnP 37 entry, it is bad ass. Kind of a necro post, but better late than never right? COMMENTS -Trism love that mellow interpretation, great soundscape and percussion effects. Really love how you made the reverby, reverse sounds with the (cymbals?) - the bells are also REAL swag. -Kat this is a beautiful piano, saxaphone duet thingy. Nice touch with adding the strings at 1:28. I like the articulation touches with the saxophone, somewhat fakey, but it's not really a problem for me, cuz my standards are lower DAMNIT and I care more about it sounding cool than realistic. Honestly this would be a difficult vote if Trism was actually competing with Kat - cuz you both rocked this round!!
  3. Wellll shit. Yeah. Trism wins hehe. Sorry 'bout that guys. Time management skills negative over 9000. Please pick the source for round 43 TRISM. !!!HOWLOWE'EN-Y SOURCE PLEASE!!! EXPECT ME TO PARTICIPATE MUAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!! EDIT I blame it on Witcher 3. That game has CONSUMED me.

  11. Compo: MnP (Meat 'n Potatoes) Round 41: Ecco the Dolphin Defender of the Future - Epilogue My choice for next round is Epilogue from Ecco the Dolphin: Defender of the Future on the Dreamcast. No particular reason for doing so, I just remember it being a nice tune as well the fact that the Dreamcast gets so little love these days -Trism Midi: http://compo.thasauce.net/files/materials/MnP41_DC_EccoDoF_Epilogue.mid Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=irO1U1HewA4 Deadline: September 17 @ 1 pm Thurs Vote Ends: September 19 @ Midnight Sat Submit your remix Here when completed. 12. You sir need to collaborate with me someday in the semi distant future - I will even pay you for the service haha. Trism, you can definately hop on board too lol =D EDIT Setting up round 41 now. It'll be up in 5-10 mins.
  13. http://compo.thasauce.net/rounds/view/MnP40 ^ Trism's entry and Kat's BONUS can be found here. Comments: Kat: Really loving the sample usage, even the sax sample sounds cool - not an easy thing to pull off. Really love the dynamics and the percussion work as well. Good energy and it feels pretty MNP Good work Kat. Trism: Oooooo Heavy!! But still within MnP feelz for sure. High energy - not bad for something that was put together in 1 or 2 days haha. I like the brass samples, the flute and percussion especially. Actually that asian sounding flute is a good touch too. For some reason this reminds me of Castlevania - Symphony of the Night. No clue as to why lol. Just has that CV feel.
  14. PM the entry to me and I'll sub it in. Next round is your pick heh. People may post their feedback here, once I got your entry. Gotta get this thing rolling =p
  15. Okay final extension. I'm only doing this b/c we have 0 applicable entries, although kat's bonus is a very welcome addition
  16. Hey no worries, I had to extend anyways. So you got 2 new days to do something Trism mah boi.
  17. less than 2 days. We've got a Bonus at least - but I wanna see at least 1 submission pweeezz.
  18. No probello. If you do make something let me know via pm and I will unlock the round so you can submit as a Bonus. Or just share it here either way works
  19. Compo: MnP (Meat 'n Potatoes) Round 40: Brave Fencer Musashi - The Musashi Legend In that case, for my pick I'll have to go with an old favorite of mine: "The Musashi Legend" from Brave Fencer Musashi. I still remember the day I booted up my shiny new PS1, popped in the demo disc and started this gem of a game up. -Kat Midi: http://compo.thasauce.net/files/materials/MnP40_bfmusashi.mid Youtube: https://youtu.be/FBzZB7rZlqA Deadline: August 27 @ 1 pm Thurs Vote Ends: August 29 @ Midnight Sat Submit your remix Here when completed. 20. Hey Kat you win good sir. And it is well earned, even if you lacked competition hehe. That is some bad-ass remixage there dude. Esp dat flute my god. Percussion elements are a nice touch too.
  21. Unless some1 submits in 6 minutes, Kat wins by default haha =p
  22. Fair warning. Imma be a-cheating cuz I'm gonna be remastering my old assed version of LoD mega-boss theme. Too lazy to start anew. Anyways, it'll be a BONUS for obvious reasons. Hopefully you guys will enjoy it. Probably gonna work on it tomorrow ...speaking of which. There's 2 days to go and 0 entries. o.O
