Oh well, hopefully we'll see you next round then EDIT Also, GrapplingHook's title is very true. The Jeweler Gem is indeed a jerk. I had to use the internet to find them all and well...let me tell you the final gem is a real surprise. A jerky surprise, but it's still worth it - especially if you've played Soulblazer
-
I'd recommend you try out the Soulblazer Trilogy as it was definitely ahead of its time, you'd have to play 'em to understand Regardless, I'm glad that you liked the source as much as I and (presumably) Argle does too And thanks for participating Blaine! Excellent, thanks gercr. EDIT This comes late, but thanks!! Now I have allergies to deal with yayyy!! Damn you hay-fever!!

What's the longest you've gone without doing music?
HoboKa replied to mickomoo's topic in Music Composition & Production
I used to churn out 20 tracks or so a year, until I got hit by depression real good. Used to produce a lot more original stuff too, I've recently made a few requests at least and am currently working on a (frustratingly challenging) track for B.A. 3 -
Oh yeah...THAT and ANY battletoads and double dragon game. Same with Spiderman Carnage. Even with savestates they are ungodly difficult games rofl.
-
Cool! Is your account stuff at ThaSauce resolved or do we need 2 do another work around?
-
Well I did get a chance to submit a bonus cover 2 days to go before I extend the compo.
-
Sorry for the late post guys, I got hit with the flu-bug pretty good. Feeling pretty crappy still, but the compo must go on!!

Compo: MnP (Meat 'n Potatoes) Round 19: Illusion of Gaia - Lively City I choose you, Pikachu.... er, no no, I choose Lively City from Illusion of Gaia. -Argle Midi Starts: 10/07/2014 Ends: 23/07/2014 2pm Wed Vote Ends: 25/07/2014 8pm Fri Submit your remix Here when completed. **If you have technical difficulty with account activation at ThaSauce, please contact Ramaniscence via pm** MISSION STATEMENT The goal of Compo:MnP is to promote that "meat and potatoes" conservative approach to remixing: this includes the mood and composition of source tunes. It is up to the remixer to create their own personalization, or to simply give it a sound upgrade. Moreover, the compo is a great opportunity to hone your remixing skills and give video game music the respect that is due. A modicum of originality is recommended, but not required. All competitors and voters must adhere to the rules stated within: Competition Code and Conduct * MnP Instructions 1. Covers and Sound Upgrades are permitted. 2. Any genre is acceptable, so long as you can still capture the source tune's mood and a good chunk of the notation. Orchestration turned into Achapella, for instance, would be a hard sell... 3. Submissions must be at a maximum of 20mb (keeping in step with ThaSauce's file size max). 4. Only 1 entry per participant. 5. Previous winner cannot participate, but can submit a bonus, as well as have a vote that counts 2x 6. Submission must be made specifically for this competition, otherwise it will have to be a bonus track. Taking an old idea of yours and heavily revising it is permissible. Example Tracks: FF7_SonOfChaos, SMW_Monstrous_Turtles, Hitman_Contract_Cleaner, MISC/TIPS - When picking a source tune, make sure it has a MIDI to make ppl's lives easier. - In-game sound FX are permitted, so long as they don't comprise the whole track (i.e. replacing entire MIDI tracks with just sfx) - Certain sad or moody source tunes don't have drums or percussion for a reason. So keeping it that way may be the easiest way to retain much of the original feel, such as and

Yikes! Well I wish you good luck with finding the next one Xsquader. Looking forward to your next entry.

...sorry were we rushing you?

How do you feel towards your own music?
HoboKa replied to Bejack's topic in Music Composition & Production
Lol, warts and all. I'd like to hear some of your older works some day Flexy - I bet they aren't that bad. But yeah, I can also listen to my own stuff too (and often do) - I definitely have different feelings regarding different tracks. Regarding several previous posts... I don't think that listening to your own music is an ego complex thing-a-majig - because many of us make music that we want to hear - therefore we make stuff not only for other people but for ourselves too - I know I do. I might on occasion take other people's comments a little too much at heart and it can ruin the song for me...but I guess I am just an overly sensitive guy -
Argle's probably real busy. I'll give him 5-6 more days. If he isn't able to come up with anything by then, I'll think of something. I might have every1 suggest source tunes and then we can vote on them

How do you feel towards your own music?
HoboKa replied to Bejack's topic in Music Composition & Production
Always second guessing my stuff and am definitely a very harsh critic of my own works; guess I'm still a little insecure about it. Could be because I have 15+ rejections on the panel, yet I still find reasons to continue lmao. There was a time when I couldn't take any criticism at all and thought it was on a personal level, but I've learned to cope with it and even try to learn from my mistakes (mostly). The only thing I regret is that I have a lot of half-finished works that I never completed, because I felt they wouldn't be good enough to finish. I hope one day I can be at peace with myself, but I'm not quite there yet. Also, I probably need to practise more to begin with - still spend way too much time playing videogames -
Seriously someone needs to remix this - and somehow make the vocals even more O_O
-
No rush, no rush. Gives me some time to relax too haha. Hectic life for me as well, hence the lack of bonus entries for quite some time.
-
Hopefully the count was done right, after I tallied in GrapplingHook's 2x vote and everyone's first-place voter bonus.
-

For getting your acc at ThaSauce set up: Contact Ramaniscence via pm. If that doesn't pan out, then pm Bundeslang - I think he can contact Rama through other means.

Thought it said women or Final Fantasy. If that were the case, I'd say Final Fantasy because that I can afford All seriousness though, I say this is a cool idea.
