Do you mean that you actually have 50% reduction through resistances, or just 50 points in every resistance? Resistances are pretty much the most lucrative stat to boost, which is something I found out on my Monk where I dropped like 10k of Health (down to below 30k) in favor of boosting my resistances to like 400, suddenly Inferno got a lot easier as a melee. Ultimately, melees will have a better time soloing Inferno because with enough gear, they can actually tank a lot of it while still dealing respectable damage, while ranged will always be quite squishy. My Act 2 DH experience consists of standing two screens away from anything and blindfiring Hungering Arrows to pick off mobs, then running across half the map while liberally dropping caltrops and smoke screens if I ever run into an elite. I can imagine that once you're actually geared up on a Barb or Monk, the playstyle is not nearly as cheesy. As for AH worthy stuff to sell, probably the most important things you want to keep a lookout for are +All Resist, +Vitality and +Dex/Str/Int. Level 60 weapons tend to be sellable from at least 700 DPS (or lower if they have great stats).

Well in Diablo 2 the very best items (ie ones needed for Uber tristram) were Runewords. High Runes had a ridiculously low drop rate so it was very unlikely that you'd ever be able to legitimately find an entire Breath of the Dying, not to mention a good item with 4 sockets. Also, I have been finding quite a lot of AH comparable gear, at least half the gear on my DH is stuff I found myself. The thing about Inferno is that you're simply not expected to progress straight from Hell without a hitch. It's supposed to be the endgame content and hold a large portion of the games replay value, with each act providing a significant bump in difficulty. That's why you're inevitably going to have to farm earlier acts/difficulties for gear/gold to get strong enough.

It's best to treat it as a multiplayer game, cause that's what it is. Having most of the stuff serverside will deter hackers and botters.

You link a shitty 9gag image in a thread with people who are generally quite pleased with the game, how is it passive aggressive of me to tell you to actually play the game and judge for yourself instead of relying on hearsay? Bnet accounts are incredibly susceptible to hacking cause they're more lucrative and easier to get away with than even credit cards. Hook up an authenticator and you should have no problem.
-
Or you could play it for yourself and find that it's Diablo through and through with lots of quality of life improvements, and more legitimate difficulty than D2.

Finished Act 1 Inferno without too much trouble on my DH, didn't skip any elites, got the Butcher on the first try, and even got the achievement for doing it fast. Of course, then Act 2 came along, and suddenly normal monsters hit as hard as elites in Act 1. It took me 4 deaths to finally kill an actual Elite.
-
Unless you're overgeared, around hell difficulty it's pretty expected that you'll die a couple of times to the more bullshit elites, but they can usually still be taken down. On Inferno you basically have to get super lucky to face elites that you can actually take down at all, otherwise you're forced to either restart the map or try to run past.

Smoke Screen literally gave you 2 seconds of invincibility (3 with the rune) and no cooldown. Would be pretty silly not to use that. It's still quite good but it requires your build to be more focused around it, and a lot of Discipline regen.
-
Inferno is a whole different ballgame though. As of Act 2 Inferno you can expect normal mobs to kill you in 2-3 hits at most, so the ability for DH to effectively chain 20-30 seconds of invincibility was huge. Probably a good balancing decision in the long run, especially if they intend Inferno to be group content. Monk really got shitfucked though. Even with Boon of Protection spam and the Quickening glitch the class felt pretty underpowered in Inferno.
-
Well, Blizzard stealth-nerfed a lot of characters: - Demon Hunter Smoke Screen only lasts for 1 second, 2 seconds runed, and has a 3 second cooldown now. - Wizards Energy Armor no longer protects you from getting one-shot so you can't do the low Vit Inferno build anymore. - Monks Boon of Protection got removed or something, basically means you can't repeatedly spam it for lots of tanking power anymore. Seems like they're really intent on not letting you be able to solo Inferno.
-
It's not that bad and gear gets cheaper by the day. I've been able to find great weapons throughout levels 50-58 for less than 100k. Compare to later versions of D2 where to solo Hell you had to have a very specific build and trade for a lot of items as well.
-
You're probably just undergeared. Save up your gold, go to the auction house and buy the best socketed DH weapon for your level that you can find. Ideally with a lot of bonus Dex and Vit.

We ran the Secret Pony level today actually, farming up all the items for it was a pain in the ass though. I'm currently level 52 in Act 1 Hell and those elite mobs are starting to get pretty insane. I simply can't solo certain compositions with my monk (fire chains, invincible minions, jailer, vampiric), and this is with 23k HP, 2700 armor, and all resistances around 70. Can't wait to see what Inferno holds in store.

Normal is the tutorial. You haven't played Diablo until you've repeatedly died to the same Jailer/Arcane or Waller/Molten unique mob on Nightmare at least.

I played the game up to Diablo on tuesday and finished him off on wednesday morning. The game really isn't that long.

I'm currently close to the end of Act 1 Nightmare with a level 35 Wizard. I think the skill system rocks, it completely opens up once you start getting a few levels and the fact that you can try out new builds almost instantly is a godsend. I have no doubt that sooner or later everyone will start gravitating to the few optimal builds (which is what happened in D2 after all), but in the meantime it's just tons of fun to teleport into mobs with a suicide bomber melee wizard. The game really encourages you to figure out fun spell combos for yourself, without overloading you with synergies that force you into a particular build. That aside, at its core, it's a Diablo game through and through. You click, stuff dies, often in a very satisfying manner thanks to the visual effects and sound design. I wouldn't even say that it's much easier than D2 because especially Acts 3 and 4 started giving me major trouble anytime a mob got anywhere near me, and I remember even getting oneshotted by a unique mob at one point (something that probably wouldn't happen in D2 Normal). Battletag is Tensei#1659 by the way.

It's just the login servers getting hammered by everyone wanting to get in at the same time. It should clear up in after an hour or so like it did for EU. Just finished Act 1 by the way, they're really trying some new stuff with the bosses this time, it was a really fun fight.

League of Legends: I finally updated the player list in the OP!
Tensei replied to Garian's topic in General Discussion
Really? I've been playing this game again recently and I find myself completely indifferent about the outcomes. It's still fun to harass people about not buying you a courier though. -
Installing noooooooooow.

Oh wow I didnt even notice.

Edited for less Smash Brothers.

Two words: Inferno Difficulty. I never considered Diablo on normal difficulty hard. There is nothing inherently more skill-based about spamming your hotkeys for potions to burst heal than having fast regeneration in general, cause how did Mana regen in D2 work in the first place? For the first 30 levels it was kind of an issue so you just bought potions to make up for it. The 'difficulty' didn't come from the fact that you would run out of mana, but because you'd constantly have to make trips back to town to restock on potions. That's not difficult or challenging, that's annoying. Then once you got some gear up, mana became a complete non-issue because you would either outregen your spellcasting or get enough mana leech to compensate for it. Most min/max builds didn't even invest any points in the energy stat because the regen you would get from gear and pots was more than enough to make up for it. In fact, I'd argue that due to the health potion cooldown D3 has, as well as the cast time on TPs, there are way fewer possibilities to cheese your way out of dying. Did you consider playing Diablo 2 on Normal up to Blood Raven hard? Cause that's pretty much the equivalent of what we've seen in the beta right now.

I think it's possible to even roll a melee wizard, so yeah.

I was referring to the rainbows and ponies picture.
