  1. There's a way to make it so the minimap is unclickable for only a second after you hover over it, I think it requires some console command though. Edit: this is actually how you do it, you go to the steam\steamapps\common\dota 2 beta\dota\cfg folder and make a file in notepad, add the line dota_minimap_misclick_time "0.4" (or whatever amount of time works for you), and save it as autoexec.cfg I also have dota_disable_range_finder "0" dota_force_right_click_attack 1 enabled. These commands respectively show a range indicator when you cast a spell and let you deny by rightclicking.
  2. I use alt+QWEASD for items which results in a lot of inadvertent pinging when I'm trying to eat a tree (but I'm way too used to it from HoN to change). Other than that I still have like 2 extra invites for anyone interested.
  3. This deserves some kind of online version of the Darwin Award.
  4. Ok, so you pretty much ignored the evidence that it's a scam site that will most likely set you up for identity theft, and signed up anyway. I'm sure this can't go wrong!
  5. I've played through the main story + most sidequests for Captain Scarlett's Pirate Booty DLC, and while it's not as good as Knoxx (then again, few DLCs are), it's definitely solid. Also, Gaige is ridiculous and I'm currently breezing through TVHM with her, she has a way easier time than Zer0 for sure.
  6. So really Nintendo doesn't make sure that anyone who manufactures their goods follows strict standards.
  7. Most sniper rifles have a base accuracy in the high 90s so that's simply not true. For me, the only weapons with sway so noticeable that it affected aiming were SMGs/Shotguns (i.e. weapons that aren't generally intended for long range engagements anyway), but it's totally doable to use the Gearbox rifle right from the start and headshot bullymongs, it has nothing to do with your level. Honestly, recoil (which definitely existed in BL1) is a much bigger deal.
  8. Gaige with an Anarchy build is super fun to play and pretty much the exact opposite of Zer0. Instead of focusing on the tiny critical hit locations, you just point your gun in the general direction of the enemy and hope you hit SOMETHING.
  9. This was already resolved in the Robo Revolution DLC for the first game.
  10. Yeah, a 'wacky system' based on your accuracy and stability stats. A high level sniper rifle on a properly spec'd character is absolutely not gonna sway and will have a supertight crosshair even while moving.
  11. I absolutely can't imagine doing any kind of precise sniping with a 360 controller but that's just me. It also looks like the Mechromancer DLC is coming out today.
  12. Yeah I found it odd that Wilhelm was such a pushover after all the buildup. Then again, he appears at a point where it's implied that you've nearly won, because all you have to do is get the Vault key from Wilhelm and then Handsome Jack won't be able to summon the Warrior, so it might just be a half-assed effort by Jack (through Angel) to present him as the final boss, considering what happens next. On an unrelated note, this and the sarcastic slow-clapping bandit after beating the Slab King's gauntlet might be my favorite parts of the game, but it's hard to say because there are so many awesome parts.
  13. Actually the game shares a lot of continuity and references with the first game, not to mention that it skips most of the world-building that already got covered. While BL2 is more than fine as a standalone game, having played BL1 definitely improves the experience even more. On the other hand, I do think that BL2 is absolutely way way better than the original in almost every aspect, whether that be plot, characters, gameplay, difficulty curve and weapons variety. That said, I do miss that Pestilent Defiler.
  14. It probably depends a lot on the character you picked. As zer0 I found Flynt a total pushover on playthrough one. TVHM was a different matter though. E: Finally managed to get this piece of crap. Ideally it would've been level 50 but no such luck for me.
  15. Gotta say TVHM (playthrough 2) is pretty damn harsh this time around. I actually have to use slag and other beneficial elemental multipliers to take down most enemies in any reasonable amount of time (shock vs their shields, corrosion vs armor, fire vs everything else), and I pretty much go for critical hits exclusively. In Borderlands 1 I could just run through everything with my Siren and a 4x fire SMG, so this game is definitely an improvement in that regard.
  16. I think limited respec is fine if you actually have such an extensive skill tree that different builds on the same character completely change its playstyle, so as to feel like a different class entirely. That way when you level up the same class with a different build, it won't be as samey, and the replay value argument will actually hold water. In my case I just want to respec so I can get rid of the points I dumped into what turned out to be an awful skill. That aside, in most games nowadays, if you respec into a completely different build, it means that you'll have to change most of your equipment to suit that, which in itself works as a fine limitation.
  17. Nah, it's pretty awful design when I invest ~8 skill points into Fusillade in the assumption that it gets better with the tier 1 bonus, but then it stays shit and is inferior to Autoattacks+ Blast Cannon. I guess that great replay value will come from rerolling the exact same character with the exact same skill build aside from that one fuck-up then.
  18. Yeah that's something that bothers me. I went through the game with a cannon engineer and I only used a handful of boring active skills: a piercing longranged shot, an AoE stun/damage and an attack/movement speed buff. The rest of the skills either didn't apply to my weapon or were must-have passives.
  19. I wanna express my love for hilarious over the top gun mods like flaming scoped autoshotguns, fully automatic sniper rifles with tommygun style drum mags, as well as the mod that makes you fling the gun away as a grenade instead of reloading. At the same time I feel kinda ehhh about the new Slag element, which is okay in multiplayer, but kinda tedious to use solo because switching between guns is pretty damn slow if you haven't invested some points into the relevant skills.
  20. Pretty sure it still just runs on Unreal Engine 3 (maybe with some more bells and whistles) so if you could run the original, you should be able to run this game too, albeit probably not maxed out. Also if you're literally asking a game dev if it's okay to pirate their game, it's not a surprise that your thread gets locked.
  21. I don't really get this game. Sure, it's good and addictive but that's mostly because about 80% of it has been lifted from Diablo 1/2, with even unrelated things like the setting, plot and music being oddly similar (same composer, I know). The things where it differs are the (minor) QoL changes and the league of legends-esque graphics, but other than that it's the same old game. I do like the classes and the gunpowder weaponry though.

    Dark Souls

Much needed necro-post for this. I have about 80 hours invested into the PC release so far. It's a super barebones port and shouldn't be played with kb+m but there's a fix to up the resolution to 1080p, and it runs smoothly at all points (including Blighttown). DLC areas are spectacular, have some of the most fun bossfights in the game and add some cool new items. That said, holy shit this game. If this is what happens when a japanese company tries to make a western-style RPG I'd be totally okay with JRPGs ceasing to exist in favor of games like this. It manages to take the nonlinear/sequence breaky level design of Metroidvania games and combines it with a robust stat system, some of the best realtime combat I've seen, and enough weapons, armor sets, and spells to provide plenty of fun customization. The death mechanic/difficulty, the multiplayer component and the deliberately light plot/lore are all gravy but very awesomely handled nonetheless. I just wish it was easier to connect to other people but that's more the fault of GFWL.
  23. I got this game on monday and leveled my warrior up to level 14 (though I'm in a level 18 area atm), and I can't help but feel a bit underwhelmed. It's a solid, streamlined MMO for sure, but nowhere near the MMO revolution I've been hearing about during the hype. The randomly generated group quests/hub quests are a nice addition, but in effect they only really streamline the experience by removing questgivers. The quests themselves are still "gather x amount of eggs" type of drivel. Coming from Tera the graphics are definitely a step down and I'm really REALLY missing the visceral skill-based combat from that game compared to the cooldown-cycling of this game. I'm hoping that the game picks up when I get up to some of the big multiplayer instances but ehhh, I'm pretty lukewarm about this game at the moment.
  24. The last day of The International is about to start. 1 Million $ on the line, Defending champions Na'Vi vs LGD. http://www.dota2.com/international/mainevent/watch/
