  1. I don't know of any specific examples. Can we get on to the discussion without them please? Like I said, they are not needed at this point. I don't know the answer because if I did, I would not have made this thread.
  2. I don't know. It is just a thought I had. You don't need specific examples to discuss in this thread. And I will be very, VERY suprised if Uematsu composed Real Emotion(FF10-2) But not so much 1000 words(also FFx-2). But back on topic here. Are songs not writtan specifically for the game considered video game music and if not, should they be allowed on the site as a remix?
  3. Like I said, I wasn't 100%. But that does not discount the other games that have this music.
  4. It has come to my attention that many remixes are based off of songs that were not actually made for the game. Examples from final fantasy include FF8: Eyes on me, and FF9: Melodies of Life. Those two songs were not made for the games, so can we really say that the corresponding remixes are really video game music? I am not 100% sure about those 2 songs but I know that there are many more that fit into this catagory.
  5. That's great, but I should warn you, Blood Omen 2 sucked. It was made by different people and as a result, didn't work out at all. I suggest going straight into defiance because it is just that freaken awesome. You liked the song right? Anyway, you can get it used for like $10 so it's completely worth it. Good luck,
  6. there, I posted the source. you can listen to it now.
  7. there's actually a project called "voices of the lifestream" It's in progression right now but in the end it will feature all songs from ff7. you can check the thread here. http://www.ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=3574 check it out.
  8. wow, this will plow over CarboHydroM's version "Fight On". But it just has too much of a James Bond feel to it.
  9. Another series I feel is being rejected is the Legacy of Kain series. The Ozar Midrashim song on Legacy of kain: Defiance is an incredible song which starts out slow, but then has an unbelievable feel after it. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=156434669467987246&q=ozar+midrashim&hl=en I must warn you, the game revolves around vampires so you may find the gameplay kind of strange. wait until 2:40 cause that's when it picks up.
  10. I too, wonder why SotC hasn't got a mix out there yet. One of the main strengths of the game is it's powerful music, so when I became an active member here, a few months back, I was almost awestruck that Final Fantasy has like 180+ and SotC has none.
  11. Yea, first post. Anyway, about the song... I found it hard to find the besaid theme in this one except at 4:06 where it came supprisingly obvious. Besaid is the best part of FFX for me and I had a lot of high hopes for this one. The music seems gentle enough to put me to sleep while driving, yet captivating enough to keep me interested. Definately a quality of the origional. The vocals were decent, but somehow seemed out of place, as with most remixes that try to force lyrics in them. In the end, I'd say about 7.3/10 Keep at it DragonAvenger and EFields. You have some potential.
  12. The beginning is... well... I'll just say it. Repulsive. It has the sound of a terrible record player. Complete with static and distorted sound. After 0:35, it turns unexpectedly into a beteaful melody which is worth the time to listen to. No. It's a fleeting moment of happiness *cheezy* that will capture any fan of soft music.
  13. The only reason I clicked on this remix was because it was new. I have never played Phantasy star, and was thinking this would be just a blow off song to listen to. I couldn't be more wrong. Upon getting less than halfway through the song, I decided that this was worth my time. Listening to it a second time, I decided that I needed to keep it. Listening to it a third time I decided that it was my top 5 count. I'm afraid to listen to it a forth time because I like all my final fantasy mixes at the top of my list. Dan, YOU ARE A STINKING GENIUS!!! You have my praise, and my gratitude.
  14. to be perfectly honest, this remix isn't my style, but for all of you that are into this kind of stuff, you will love it. It is kind of homogeneous in the sense that is same throughout the whole mix with an exception that it gets toned down, then finishes with the sound of a motor being fired up from idle.
  15. Quite frankly I will say, and don't hate me for this, I didn't care for FFT too much. I got to the part where your party starts off poisoned and when I couldn't beat it, I put the game down as I picked up more modern games. And now the review.. Whenever I click the download link for a song I always skip the intro and start roughly 1/3 of the way in. Then if I like that I will listen to the rest and then the whole again. If I don't like it, I will skip further ahead and then to random parts. I actually was going to turn off this song except for the fact that Antonio Pizza asked me to and I have enough respect for him as a person to listen all the way through. I am throughly glad that I did. One needs to listen to the whole thing to enjoy it. The ambiance created is simpilly incredible.
  16. I'm new to this site, but are site projects available for the public use? Will they be on the individual remixs pages? Or will I have to find them on some sort of projects page?
  17. I think Shadows of the Colossus has one of the best soundtracks out there. Hunting down those mountain sized beasts...and the musical score was incredable. Maybe "Peril Personified" or "Excitement!Danger!" tracks. The first is just a little too short for me so maybe it could be legnthened.
  18. can someone tell me how to put pictures in my signature? The copy paste feature doesn't seem to work on this level and thats the only thing that i can think of.
  19. if this is really a serious project, then i want to hear "the landing" or "attack on dollet". ive seen it called both.
  20. EDIT: deleted for stupidity and lack of observation
