  1. Very very nice! The remixer uses several of my favorite themes from the OoT, and gives them an awesome orchestral treatment. An awesome remix of awesome music from an awesome game. Good work, keep it up!
  2. Bah, he does it again! Star Salzman rocks my socks off. This is a pretty hard core piece. Orchestra part is good, the rock/percussion parts lend nicely to the overall feel of the piece, and the vocals drive it all home. I still think I like "Pillar of Salt" better, but these are both top-notch remixes. Lovely work!
  3. Very very lovely stuff here. Reuben does all sorts of neat piano things (that I've seen. He could be leading some sort of huge underground death metal movement for all I know). Piano work is nice, I also like your mixes from animeremix.org. And Pixietrixes's's's singing is gorgeous. I don't speak Japanese, so she could be telling me to eat poo and kill myself, and I wouldn't be the wiser. It's still mighty pretty to hear, regardless of what she's saying. Good work, you two.
  4. I like it, it's all bouncy and machineish or something. My favorite part is definitely the second half, though. The distorted bass things PFFWOMPH through my subwoofer, and the strings/brass add a neat atmosphere to it all. Good work, sir.
  5. It's more DJP greatness, but he's with a great guitarist now too. Is he the holy ghost, or Thou Divine Son, O Lord of All Things Salty and Pretzelely? Regardless, lovely mix, lovely singing. It has my vote, for what it's worth.
  6. Great mix, great great mix. I <3 it. And the title is punny. 12 pages of replies of your loyal legions showering you with praise? Lord Pretzel, you don't have to worry about offending the purists or anyone. Your mixes are all amazing, and have a world-altering quality to it. I think that Thou Canst Unite All The World With Thine Holy Melodies, O Father Divine. Amen.
  7. I love Chrono Trigger. I never beat it, though..maybe I should go do that before I die. But this mix? Killer. I love breakbeat, you captured that nicely. The crazy jazzy thingies are great too. DJPretzel pwns this site, and my soul too. So Lord Pretzel, keep makin' awesome remixes and I'll keep making blood sacrifices to increase your prayer power.
  8. Yeah, it is nice. You can hear the sadness and agonony behind it. You know, being a child of a deity dedicated to killing stuff? That's sad. The climax around 2:15 is goosebump inspiring. I like this a lot. BG is a great game as well.
  9. Wow, another amazing piano mix. I don't know which of the dudes involved is doing the piano (MC?), but s/he is very talented. Of course, what good is an awesome pianist without awesome music to play? I keep seeing Blak_Omen's name on some very awesome remixes (FF9 Hunter's Etude makes me wet myself). Regardless of who killed who, this is a very powerful and emotive song. You can hear the pain/agony behind it. Starts out slow, works up to a very awesome climax around 2:30-2:40, then slowly works its way down to nothingness. Very nice, very powerful, very moving. So to the guys who did this, keep doing whatever it is you're doing, it's great.
  10. Very cool. I never played the games, but I have read the books and seen the movie. This does indeed invoke imagery of the Dune universe. Good job.
  11. This is a very interesting mix. The first time I heard it, I wasn't sure if I liked it or not (forgive me for not having played FF6 or being familiar with the source tunes). After I listened to it a few more times, it grew on me. I actually really like it now. The end, where I guess the 2 themes you used are mixed? Don't know about which part is what, but it's definitely the best part of the mix. Good job, please keep makin' pancakes.
  12. Excellently done, brother! Allow me to elaborate: I like music. Most of us do. We all like different sorts of music. When you think about hard driving stuff, you typically think a deathmetal band. Not I. I prefer to find my hard driving stuff from classical music. Sounds like an oxymoron, I know, but still. (Don't believe me? Listen to FF9: Hunter's Etude (Scherzo)). The symphony orchestra is capable of producing such a wide range of emotions. In the case of your mix, it's dark, dramatic, exciting, all the things I like. The harp at the end? I really like that. After such a dramatic climax, the harp sort of carries the piece to a quiet decrescendo. Nicely done, sir.
  13. Ahh, Descent 1 and 2. I remember playing them back in the day on our 486. Awesome games. I can only vaguely remember the music, so I don't really remember what the source tune for this mix was like. Regardless, I like this mix a lot. It's got a certain ambience/ance/whatever to it that makes it great to listen to when you're trying to relax. For me, anyways. It's a great postlude to a hectic day for some reason. Love it, keep up the good work.
  14. Here, I can sum it up in 3 words: "Klutz = god." It's true. All of his piano works are amazing, even the non OCR ones (see his website for MOAR: http://klutz.vgmidi.com/music.php). All-in-all, a very talented pianist with a good ear for music. And he's Korean? lol, that explains his ungodly skillz. Keep up the awesome work, man. I'm hooked too.
  15. Haha, I really like this mix. Cid beating the sh*t out of the thing at 0:41 is funny. The industrial/factory sounding feel to the mix is..driving and awesome. Forgive my lack of creative vocabulary. 3:00 to the end is also awesome. Good work Gaffeizil, guy who isn't CotMM.
  16. Dear Klutz: Your piano skills are inhuman. I have all of your mixes from this site, as well as many from your personal site. They are all amazing, and a testament to your mad skills. Rock on, brother. 10/10
  17. djpretzel for president. This is an awesome remix. When I first heard it, I was made a reaction similar to "ubuuhh?" This mix is very different. Like I think "You Are Not Alone", I don't think awesome reggae dub etc. You used a lot of big words in your write up that I'm not familiar with. I don't know the first thing about remixing and synthesizers and Frooty looops and whatnot, but I do know a good remix when I hear one. 10/10
  18. Dear Mr. Pretzel: You f*cking rock. OC Remix is a great site with all sorts of great music from all sorts of great remixers. Among all them, I have a top three: (in no particular order) McVaffe, Star Salzman, and djpretzel. You're usually pretty modest in your writeups, which is good. But, for the credit you might not have given yourself, you have all of us drooling a**kissing fans to make up for it. This remix is cool. Bouncy sounding, awesome 80'sesque synthesizer riffs, and of course, your vocals. The vocals are great. Any of your remixes where you sing are subsequently great. And even non-OCremixes where you sing are great, like the "Naruto: Falling Down" one that I fond on animeremix.org. In that song, you did these neat thingies where you were singing in harmony with yourself at the refrains. Like..you sang all the parts (melody, harmony, beat-boxing, etc.) and then used your magical music remixing machine to play it back at the same time. Cool stuff, even if Naruto and I aren't on speaking terms (f*cking fillers...if they ever end and the story gets back on track, it'll be worth watching again). But this remix, yes, very very good. 10/10.
  19. gbuuh....wow. Let's see if I can shape coherent words long enough to say some stuff. I've always been a fan of Star remixes. They're awesome, really. This one, however, takes the cake and is my personal favorite Star remix. I've never played Xenogears, nor have I heard any of the music (with the exception of a couple of midis people used in their RPG Maker 2000 games). I don't care, however, because this mix can hold its own ground. The lyrics and vocals are amazing. For me, religious texts make awesome lyrics (Like "Beast and the Harlot" by Avenged Sevenfold, those lyrics are based on the book of Revelation). And when lyrics are in another language, I'll usually like them even more. As DJ Pretzel said, Star mixes are like worlds unto themselves. This one evokes all sorts of vivid imagery, especially the first time I read the lyrics sheet while listening. And I already like middle eastern music, so that's another boner point. This is an incredibly dramatic piece that reflects what the lyrics/religious scripts they were taken from were hinting at. The fiery destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah? There could be no better stage for such a dramatic, almost apocalyptic sounding piece. I can't piece words together so good right now, so I'll shut up. This mix is amazing, everyone should hear it at least once before they die, 10/10.
  20. Reading over the previous comments, I see that everybody likes different stuff. You know, some people like apples and some people like oranges? Similarly, people's musical tastes differ. Blak_Omen and MC remixed the Hunter Theme as they saw fit. People who don't have the same musical tastes as the remixers might not appreciate it as much as some people do. Which category do I fall in? Neither, I would fit more into the "sniveling fanboy a**kisser" category. Because this remix rocks my socks. I downloaded this on September the 14th of '06. Since that point, it has gotten 63 plays (oops, song just finished. Make that 64) since I downloaded it. It is currently in a 3 way tie with Spieluhr by Rammstein and some Matrix II Trance mix as the most played song in my library. Really. It seems funny when I step back and think about it. Remixes, by average joes like me (except with much more musical talent) can trounce the 5 gigs of "real" songs done by "real" musicians in my library. Remixers=the sex. Anyways, about this piece. It's badass, to be sure. I loved the original Hunter's Chance theme, and I love piano remixes. Especially piano that can portray a level of tension and driving energy that no rock band could ever hope to match. Would I change some things about it? Maybe a little. In some places the tempo could be tweaked a little (let me explain..I know, this is a solo piece. It goes by whatever tempo the solist feels like, so it can go sloooowww fast fst fst sloooww...But in some places, I would've done it SLIGHTLY differently). Of course, I'm not the one with the mad piano/mixing skills, so I really have no idea if any of what I just said makes sense. Regardless, this remix does it for me, 10/10, I love it, it's the best (for me), I just came, etc. Keep it up, guys.
