  1. Allright, I've been posting here for a bit about getting into remixing and such, now I'm serious about it and am buying a midi keyboard. I'm feeling very strongly toward the Axiom 61 from M-audio, I'll be working with FL, by the way. This will be my main midi controller. http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/Axiom61-main.html 1) Will I be dissapointed? 2)Any features I might want that this doesn't have? 3)It works with the USB port right? I don't need to have anything to do with the midi-in midi-out right? 4)I'm up here in Canada, and from what I saw at Zzounds they don't ship up here (plus I don't want to go through the hassle of getting it across the border, any good deals from canadian dealers? I think M-audio has canadian outlets here) 5)Anything else to say?
  2. Hey everyone, I'm interested in getting fruity loops, but I have a few questions first. 1. If I want to switch computers and take fl with me, can I do it? Or is there security to prevent that sort of thing? 2. I've been told to get the producer edition and a soundfont player, is this a good recommendation? What does the soundfont player do? 3. Any other tips and reccommendations? Thanks.
  3. Hello everyone, I'm planning on getting reason and need a midi keyboard. I would very much like to have a good one. I don't know if it's possible, but I would like a good quality keyboard, full size (88-keys) would be very nice since I'd like to use it for actually playing piano songs. I think I'm looking for more of an actual piano keyboard with some midi options rather than the other way around, so a soundbank and speakers would be great. What's the difference between midi plugs and a USB midi, with midi plugs how do you plug into your computer? Price isn't a huge deal for me, I'm more interested in good quality, nice action and nice playing. Should I just buy a midi keyboard and a stage keyboard? Please give me a few tips and your opinions. Thanks, hope to be mixing with you soon.
  4. So both demo's last forever right, they just have limitations, am I correct?
  5. At this point I no longer have any idea what to get, although reason is looking good.
  6. Hey there, I've been interested in the re-mixing scene for about a year now, and more and more I've been wanting to get involved. I want to get a program and get started, but I'm reasonably short on cash and don't want to use more than necessary, I'm willing to invest in a midi keyboard and a mixing program. I'd like to know your opinion on whether to get Reason or FL Studio, I've looked through the boards and have realized a bit of a split vote between the two, although some people have said that reason is easier to learn. Please keep in mind that I'm a complete newbie to this other than that I can use a computer and have my Grade 6 piano. So, what should it be for me? If you can please tell me the reason for your opinion, I kinda want to know why you think whatever is better, thanks. See you around hopefully, ~ZT~
  7. Hey everyone, my question is similar to Xaiir's, I'm wondering what the best way to get an mp3 into your FL song, (I know it's looked down upon in re-mixes, this is for other reasons) I can do it by putting it into a step sequencer, but then I have to extend the amount of bars by an eternity, Also, what's the best way to take a section out of an mp3, say I want seconds 20-40, how could I do that?
  8. Allright thanks everyone.
  9. Thanks to all of you, sounds like I'll probably be going with fl, not sure whether to get xxl, producer, or fruity, but I'll probably get either producer or xxl, (if I can scrounge up the cash). Can anyone tell me what the main differences between producer and fruity edition are? And also what's good about the plug-ins that come withh xxl and what makes them worth-while? Here's a list of the included plug-ins: -DrumSynth Live -SimSynth Live -Fruity DX-10 -Fruity soundfont player -Sytrus -VideoPlayer -DirectWave Thanks again, I'll try out some of the demo's and also watch the video's.
  10. Hey guys, I'm currently not involved with re-mixing but would very much like to get involved. I've been looking at fl studio and it looks like it could be what I'll use to re-mix. I have a few questions about it first and would like some feedback please! 1. Does FL work well (in your opinion) for actually re-mixing songs? 2. How many of you actually use it to remix, and what are some examples of songs you've made with fruityloops? 7. There are a lot of different mixing programs; Cubase, Reason, FL, Logic, Live, Protools, Sonar, what are the main differences between them and what would you recommend? 4. Can you import mp3s and edit a part out of them to use? 5. Does it work well for using and editing pre-made songs (using a portion of a song in the re-mix)? 6. Which version would you recommend getting (cost/product)? Which plug-ins would you recommend for just bare re-mixing (I'm a noob to this by the way)? Thanks! even if you can't answer all of them all feedback is useful, I hope to be mixing with you guys soon!
