I've had miku's problem, I just moved or deleted all of the fl plug-ins in the folder I didn't want, (it installed two when I installed them, one in the specified folder, one in the default vst folder) Another problem you may have is that you have both vst and dxi plugins installed, if this is the case, then just delete one of the dll files, (a lot of plugins come in vst and dxi formats, maybe you said to install both and since fl is a vst and dxi host, both versions are showing up)

Thanks, but how can I set that up, or if it is running, what kind of generators use it? (I use fl studio)

Hey guys, Zephyr here again, I'm looking for some good synthesizer tutorials, I've read zircon's but I'm looking for some other ones, (preferably subtractive synthesis, but most synthesizers are so it shouldn't be a problem) if anyone can point me towards some that'd be great. Thanks.

I have an axiom 61, how do I use aftertouch, what does it do, and how do I set it up? I checked the manual but it was useless. Can anybody help me out here?

Need some help getting started.
Zephyr replied to furymaster's topic in Music Composition & Production
I may be of some help to you, I was just in your position about a month ago. I decided to download some demos and watch a lot of videos. I saw a lot of tutorials for fl studio so I tried that demo out a lot. I also tried reason but personally didn't get into it at all (probably because I'd tried fl first) for a midi interface I chose an axiom 61 from m-audio, managed to pick one upf for $345 canadian with free shipping. I'm very happy with everything, but the keyboard just got here about a week ago so I have yet to undertake any large projects, although I have messed around on it and between it and fl studio I managed to crank out something I thought was decent in about an hour. hope that helped a bit. My recommendation: try some demos, watch a ton of videos and decide on what you're looking for. -
Hey everyone, remixers and non-mixers alike, I just got my new keyboard in and have been experimenting and recording for the last few days, as I'm a noob at re-mixing I'd like a request on a nice simple song for me to do. Please, if you have any ideas let me know even if you don't want a re-mix of it for yourself. It would be extra good if any re-mixers would be willing to give me a suggestion and then mentor me through as I work on it, don't be intimidated by any of these options though, any help you can give I'd greatly appreciate. Thanks...

Extremely noobish question but bare with me....
Zephyr replied to Meccanical's topic in Music Composition & Production
Allright, if you want some help here we're going to need to know a few things, A: Did you make a drum pattern or a drum loop sample? (a sample is just a sound, like any wav or mp3, a pattern is a set of midi data that it specific to fl studio) B: what exactly are you trying to do, from what you said, I'm getting the message that you just want that pattern to play over and over again until the song is finished, is that correct? -
Simple question here, did you get the latest drivers? If so ignore me.

Are you talking about drawing bars in the playlist or pattern? If you are talking about re-drawing the whole drum pattern, then just take the pattern that the drum loop is in, then take the paintbrush in the playlist and give it a good stroke as far as you need. If you have it in a pattern with other stuff, then just go to the piano roll, (assuming you used fpc or something) and hit ctrl + a to select it all then hit edit>cut and got to a new pattern then open a piano roll for that fpc and edit>paste. Hope that all made sense, I assumed you meant a drum pattern rather than sample. -
Hey everyone, just got myself an axiom 61, I'm just wondering if anyone knows if there's any way to set the transport bar controls to the stop, record, play etc. buttons on the axiom. It won't let you "link to controller". Also, how do you use this aftertouch that I've heard so much about?

They've got a quite a few reasonably good ones over at warbeats.com Forums there suck IMO though.
-
I'm quite sure that it's intentional, you're using demo versions aren't you? It's to make you actually want to buy it.

I don't have any trouble with people using mine on other forums (it's fairly unique) and I take up about 7/8ths of the first page on a google search, but after that some of the results just made me laugh. Is Cubase more for live recording than MIDI?
Zephyr replied to SSB's topic in Music Composition & Production
If you're looking to switch just for a change I'm pretty sure that reason maintains midi and a playlist and piano roll while having a much different way of handling sound, (similar to using hardware, it has virtual racks and lets you manipulate the wires in the back) There are also a few other options such as Sonar, Live, etc. I haven't used anything of these though. -
You need to work on quite a few things, your drums are almost never on beat with the song (which totally defeats their purpose, and you need to work on your transitions and the song as a whole try listening through your song with a very critical ear, write down anything that might use even the slightest bit of work.

Do A Barrel Roll! (corneria mix)
Zephyr replied to PrototypeRaptor's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
Is that Andross after the "Aah! I'm hit!" if it is then you're right, all I'm getting out of that is " lie long in migi airforg quog" And I doubt that's what he's saying. You really should have "do a barrel roll" thrown in there somewhere, if that's the title you're keeping. It would fit right after the enemy group behind us line. The other andross (or whatever) is also much too hard to understand. I like the addition of voices though, make you part of their universe in a way. You could probably submit this now and see what they say, (cut the hard to understand parts though) Unless there's anything else you think you should clean up... Good luck! P.S. An ending would be nice to, what you have now is fine, but it needs time to fade out. -
That piece you arranged just made me cry... how many samples/instruments are included in this bundle?
-
Closed media player, changed nothing, anyways, I put it to 48000 hz on the sound cards asio drivers and can put it down to 2 ms (lowest setting) without under-runs accumulating VERY slowly (should I put it higher? I get about 1 under run around every 7 minutes, but that was with it just sitting there), What exactly are under-runs and what do they do? Also wat exactly do they do that's bad?
-
This was a cool idea, I wish I had reason, maybe we could start one for FL sometime...
-
I suppose, where can I update the asio drivers (if that would help) and if changing the sample rate can screw things up, should I change it or would I be better of using a different option altogether? If I must change it what should I change it too?
-
hey there everyone, I just bought an axiom 61 and it's in the mail, while I wait I decided Id make sure my sound card is all set up, I'm going to be using fl for my mixes so I went into the options there, (screens show a demo version, but I'll buying it soon) I came across some trouble, I've been told many times to use the ASIO drivers, but when I try, I get problems, take a look: Here's what the default settings were: Here are my options: I went to the sb audigy asio option, I got this warning: If I try to change it like it says I get this warning: Can anybody help me get this set up? Thanks. Sorry if the pics are big,

Haha, for some reason that bass sound in the beggining just makes me laugh. That driving bass thing that comes in sounds a tad out of tune on it's second set of notes if you know what I mean. But for one hour this is very good. Keep at it, make the melody go somewhere. I love both your other mixes so I'd love to hear this a little later on.
-
Keep in mind I've never played the game or heard the source either, but I like how peaceful it is, but yes it does need to go somewhere.

Remixing - How is it done?
Zephyr replied to Legion Kreinak's topic in Music Composition & Production
I do pretty much what Yoozer is talks about earlier, if I can I find the sheet music for the song then just sit down and play it, mess it up, mix it up, make new melody lines, chord progressions, mix it with other songs etc. Then try it with some other sounds for inspirations.
