I dig that concert on the 28th. Great music that I had never heard before. I'm guessing it would be difficult for everyone to attend on a wednesday night. Plus we'd either need a place to hang or a hotel. I may just go anyway if you're going that night.
I was thinking of just making this a day trip thing. Otherwise we need a hotel or someone's place.
In Chicago, the only remixer who has spoken is CC Rider. Do you have room for any of us to chill in Chicago CC?
If we did it in Champaign, bahamut do you have any room?

and I got confused. That episode was from May 10th this year and was bonus episode. Not sure how i thought it was the first episode. Still hilarious

I've been feeling like an asshole all day since I posted this. I'd like to apologize to everyone, especially jmr for making such a statement.
I am so glad I re-rolled. This is much better than the attic music from Adams Family - Pugsley's Scavenger Hunt.

Tell me what it is that you like about that tune. I thought the gameplay looked neat on youtube for that level. Neat what they did with the cannons. I didn't care for the tune so much since it was pretty much the same melody repeated, then modulated.
*sigh*Another one of my FBRC picks goes unremixed... I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little disappointed. :'(

Props to Dj Mokram for a great request.

In 2009, Bahamut tried to get a meetup going in the Midwest and nothing made it anywhere. Let's get together in the Midwest OCR! I'm tired of seeing pictures of all the East Coast Meetups on facebook and never see anything from the Midwest members.
I have 2 locations in mind.
I would love to meetup in Chicago, IL at a park, play frisbee, get some food, bring a laptop and do some recording. We could even go to some cool places like Shed Aquarium or the Art Museum. Upside to Chicago : Lots to do, lots of places to go.
Badside to Chicago : Big city, lots of traffic, travel logistics can be a bitch.
The second location I have in mind is Champaign, IL - Bahamut currently resides there. We could do the same things as I mentioned above.
I have a Date in mind of June 26. Anyone down? Let me know of your preferences! If you want a date change then you better be willing to commit to a different date and show up.

Bumping this thread. I'm from Grand Rapids, Michigan.

This is so bad ass stevo. Its so smooth and rocking. I love the way the guitar is so present. Good call on not adding percussion. Your rhythm is very solid on this. Keep making great music man!

For those of you who don't know, DEFCON is a big hacking convention. I'm not a huge hacker but I love to learn about technology exploits.
Here's the website ... http://www.defcon.org/
Is anyone else planning to go?
The conference is at the Riviera Hotel in Las Vegas.

Man I've been gone for a while. I got a addicted to WoW. So that took some of my time. Somehow other musical stuff always pops up on thursday nights also. I shall return one day and you will be blessed with Obtuse Music.

I wouldn't take a class on how to use a DAW. A topic like orchestration is pretty tough though for me to just pick up. I don't have time to take off work and go to a local university for that type of stuff so online would have to be the way to go.
-
Has anyone here taken a music class online? I'm considering taking Orchestration at http://www.berkleemusic.com/

Awww man. I'm going to miss OHC this week. I have a rehearsal for a Jazz benefit gig. So much for making it to every OHC this year.

First of all, I love where you have taken this since Thursday night.
I think the choir-ish sound at the beginning should crescendo and decrescendo more. Right now it seems a bit stale.
My personal opinion is that the hi hat should blend in a bit more when things are grooving.

The originals feedback doesn't get much traffic.
I like what you got here. Especially the drums. The Noisy SID chip sounding lead doesn't tickle my fancy but I like what you do with.
It feels like the track is missing something. Maybe you should just bring out that arpegiated line. It's kind of buried.

Sir_Snooze, If you want to take the music with you, use a program like Station Ripper.
I can't vouch for the legal aspect of this. To me as long as the advertisements are left in tact there should be no legal issues.

If you are referring to using a line tool to edit velocities, choose the pencil tool, click control and drag the line as you see fit.

Sweet Remix. I love the Chorus.

I was trying to find something really heavy and ended up discovering the beauty of combinator patches.
Combinator Patches are great. You should check out www.combinatorhq.com . Download all of the patches by Lizard and Exode. Those patches are pretty sweet.
EQ:As far as using the EQ for each instrument...How do I make that happen?
Click on the instrument you want to add EQ to, then go to the menubar, click on Create -> MClass Equalizer.
Do you think that overall the percussion wasn't too dull?
The percussion was good. It could use some improvement. I suffer in the percussion department.
*sighs* I miss you line tool
When you want to draw automation using a line, hold shift, click a point... Keep holding shift, click another point. This should give you a straight line.
Hope all this helps.
Do you have a favourite time signature?
