  1. I have a 2005 Dell Mouse and I love it. It's old and fugly but it's pretty accurate. Get something wired.
  2. I don't think Shariq has the time to participate in a remix battle, dude.
  3. You saw quite a few more participants, I saw quite a few less pages.
  4. QFT&E Again: you guys take this way too seriously. I would understand if you got mad about losing because you lost the prize. But guess what? There's no prize. You don't get anything from winning this competition except momentary recognition by about 30 people. After that, no one cares. So why do you? I don't mean any offense, but the whole plethora of people who started paying attention to these competitions at the 2nd GRMRB (not naming names but it should be obvious) and beyond have really just made this competition thread a really unpleasant place to have a conversation. We're not even done and this thread is 203 pages of mostly just trash talk, pointless mixing updates ("Now I have 2 minutes of material" "Now I just put a stupid marimba in it"), voluntary reviews (this is the only stuff that really belongs in this thread), and voting ethics. 203 pages for this thread. GRMRB 2011 had 128. GRMRB 2010 had 53. Why? Because people didn't post every single fraction of a thought they had about the competition. No one posted about how they thought voting should work. No one got butthurt that they didn't win, or post depressed thoughts about how their reputation was at stake if they lost. And personally, to me, GRMRB 2010 had way better music than any of the other competitions. tl;dr Calm the !@#$ down, no one cares.
  5. You guys take this competition way too seriously. Also Jewb can't do his mix this week.
  6. Hot keys only work if you turn off keyboard to MIDI. It's at the top next to the transport controls.
  7. And it's not as if you are required to update, either. Even then, your updates are completely free. They don't really have to do anything to keep old customers reeled in because they're not losing money. I like the clip playlist, it's really versatile and gives you way more control. Plus clips help you get away from block style composing. They're easier to manage as far as slicing, positioning and stopping is concerned. You don't need to make a new pattern to cut off the second half of a drum beat. It's also easier to make variations, because you can "Make Unique" a clip at any point in time to make it stand on its own as a pattern. With pattern blocks you need to clone the pattern and then paint the new one instead.
  8. I have a 50% off Valve coupon, 50% off Frozenbyte coupon, and a 25% off Valve Coupon to trade for coal (or any goodies you think would make it worth my while).
  9. They're going to break a lot of things when they transition into 64-bit, that would probably cause issues somehow. Don't ask me, I don't program DAW's, it's just my speculation.
  10. The closest thing you can have is the RSS feed. It's pretty convenient on its own.
  11. Dude you kinda just pwned everyone Your FACE will ask his face for proper capitalization. (v¯^¯)7
  12. You're just getting used to headphones that are actually good. If your headphone's lower limit was bumped up to 20Hz, you'd hear absolutely no difference (theoretically).
  13. It's not the range you should be concerned with, normal human beings can only hear roughly between 20Hz and 20KHz. The range is pretty useless, what matters is the balance between them, and you seem to enjoy the balance ("the bass is very punchy" ) so you made a good choice.
  14. You don't really get new listening gear on the basis of its impedance or whatever, you get it for the frequency response because what you're hearing is what matters the most. You should be worried about whether the headphones are too bassy or too hot more than its impedance unless it renders itself incompatible with your computer for some reason. I'm not going to really talk about it because I don't know much about it, but I am going to say for certain those reviews are obviously written by people who have no idea what they are talking about. Afaik, ohm impedance handling has nothing to do with frequency response. Listening gear is what affects the frequency balance, not the amp that sends audio signals (unless it has a built in EQ or something). If I could just use any headphones for mixing "because I'm plugging it into a PC" I wouldn't bother with anything other than a cheap $10 pair.
