  1. Not too strict, its just to monitor progress - If people let me know whats going on with them i'll be happy to keep them on.

Just quoting this for emphasis since some people seem to be confused about the nature of the deadline. If you don't have a WIP and can't deliever one DON'T PANIC - just let me know and i'll mark you down as having got back to me. I'm not going to cut anyone unless I have to, so don't worry about it. I just need to see who is still interested in the project and any progress they have made.

  2. I'm afraid I won't have anything ready by may 1st. I have 3-4 project tracks I have to do before this one. That being said, project tracks are the only thing I'm gonna work on till they're all done, so June is feasible.

np - If people let me know whats going on with them i'll be happy to keep them on. I'm not going to mercilessly cut people who talk to me, but those who don't let us know will be cut because anyone who doesn't do tracks will need to be replaced if we want to hit the 25 track limit.

I hope I didn't sound like a jerk with my post about 2014, but The_Damned DID say I could do it in 2014... if I get a chance to make the song this year then I'll probably do it, but if I don't, I got that under-the-table deal! I'm innocent!

Sorry Brandon, I spoke to staff about when was best to have the album finished. Afraid 2014 will probably be too late if we want to see this released in time :(

  3. Just wondering in order to organize my mixing schedule: what is the next deadline for the project?

Just posted a may 1st deadline.

Not too strict, its just to monitor progress. Final Deadline is probably going to be new year to give staff time to evaluate the album before release.

  4. Having to think about this one because I run into all sorts of problems, depends on the track. Sometimes I can't get the production right, sometimes it might be performance issues... sometimes it'll be getting stuck on a track and not knowing where to take it. For me, its probably a mix that becomes too convoluted. Sometimes i'll just end up doing a track thats just... too much of a good thing I guess, I'll want it to be really long, really epic, and i'll have loads and loads of ideas... and I just can't translate it quick enough. By the time i'm half way through, its not finished, and i've lost that spark for it and i'm stuck with half a great track - I KNOW where I want to take it but I just don't want to be arsed with it, so if I do carry on, it'll be forced and rubbish etc etc.

  5. Yeah i'm going to sign off on what Vig said i'm afraid. Very face-meltingly awesome, but the performance of the rhythms is very off putting, and I had to turn it down to a pretty quiet level to stop those strings from hurting my ears.... :( I don't really have anything to add other than the track feels like its pumping with over-compression a tad too much.

Its great, but the issues are a bit too problematic imo - I vote resub, and do resub, cause this is sick :D

    NO (resub)

  6. I remember this track. The main issue I have with this is the slightly out of place guitar, but the piano seems to work better in the soundscape than I remember. Awesome guitar solo tho. But yeah, this is great stuff. Nice clean production, with great use of reverb, and the panning and attention to detail with the sound spatialisation really gives this a wonderful depth, particularly for headphones.

    Arrangement is cool too!

    YES

  7. I'm attempting to make the transition, and I have had some degrees of success with some flash games and a film credit to my name now. The best advice I can give is to get yourself out there in EVERY WAY possible, and then some, because these people aren't going to find out about you without your help. You have to do research, find where the work is and throw yourself at it like a bullet. Many instances of people getting work that i've heard of was being in the right place, at the right time, with the right people. Get yourself out there. Show people you exist and they'll notice, otherwise they'll go with someone who could be doing what YOU should be doing. Don't let them, get there first :D

There is of course, more to it than that, but getting your foot out of the door is the first step to making it in this industry.

  8. Ok, we've got our 25 mixers!

    So, GET THOSE TRACKS IN!!!

Deadline incoming, but roughly, we need wavs by the end of the year, so get on it peeps! ^-^

(if there is anyone who still wants to contribute, please contact The Damned until further notice from me, We'll see if we can fit in bonus tracks or something maybe)

  9. I was cleaning through my files on my HDs and I forgot I had made this for the heck of it about a year or so ago. I usually like illustrating stuff but wanted to experiment. Might as well put this up here and see if people like it. Otherwise I'll just toss this I guess.
