I remixed (in audio terms, not musical terms) this Final Fantasy IV project track. You can download here my updated version: http://www.mediafire.com/folder/ov0wbey0079rq/FFIV_-_Genesis_of_Destruction I would like Zircon's mix, that was released, taken down (torrent, html links, youtube). I always felt I did everyone that spent time on it a disservice for releasing it as it came out. It was just too much of a monster to tackle back then. Thank you Andrew, Justin, Connor, Lisa, Marcin, and everyone on the FFIV project.

A Realm Reborn: Final Fantasy XIV Online

Ultros and fairy over here -
Are those real translations?!?! Besides the name I see no hint of it looking like a Breath of Fire title. The forest graphic feels right but the characters look so generic. The detail is nice while generic looking but I would never think BoF without the title.

So i got a ps3...what do i do with it?
audio fidelity replied to prophetik music's topic in General Discussion
Brad, stick with Valkryia Chronicles. I felt similar in that I picked it up every so often for a long while in the beginning. But it does take off a little less than half way into it. Once it did for me, I couldn't put it down and the ending was superb. -
I have it basically worked that I can screen-share and send high quality audio between DAWs with video chat to go over sessions of mine or yours to demonstrate mix technique. We'll approach the lessons based on your needs, which will change from person to person with different levels of experience and style. So it would be best to let me know your goals and what you hope to get out of it and learn and then I can build the lessons. You can send me the files you're working with and I can load them up and work alongside you. I think $30 for an hour lesson is pretty reasonable, especially since I'll be spending time getting your lesson together beyond the hour. I really want to do this to help empower project studio artists to make better music. Those of you out there that get frustrated can take from my years of experience to build a better foundation and help demystify music production. PM or email me through my website your contact info. And we can talk more.

I disagree. For me I felt little connection to the characters and the story was extremely political and confusing. Xenoblade on the other hand had me invested in the characters and was more emotionally driven. But what's the point in comparing? They are two different stories.

The amount of time it takes them to put together the engine and conceptualize a full world is obvious in the amount of time ff13versus was in development. I would imagine this game is linear and not the same wide breadth of plot development like rpg's of yesteryears. For the level of graphics square-enix goes for these goes days, they simply can't make new completely fresh ff worlds like they did in the past. This is exactly why they will make sequels because it's more profitable, will continue to use what they've built upon, and will expand a story that they can't tell in the span of one released game. It makes sense to me and I'm actually for it if they plan it out and execute it with grace. They should admit to their plans for taking the series in a new direction because of technology and development instead of allowing people to still compare them to other entries in the franchise. The only other games of recent memory to have such expansive worlds are Star Ocean and Xenoblade and those are definetely action based rpg's that trade off with less cinematic graphic quality. If you look at XIV, they are certainly trying to cater these needs of gamers for an expansive non-linear game with lots of diversity with this installment. This is mostly thought out speculation on my part from what I've seen and heard. I just think ffxv will follow more along the lines of ffxiii then most will care for with a linear, limited world. But I do think it will be a better experience pulling from what they've learned and commitment to make right on their past faults.

finished Secret of the Forest (Jazz)

Ya, that's the one. I was getting mixed up because the class I used it for was 'Jazz Fundamentals'. -
Hey would you sticky me on this, Shariq then? I'd super appreciate it. I've gotten messaged about the idea of offering mixing lessons online. I'm think along the lines where I can screen share and send high quality audio over the web to give examples to help those with questions and/or also follow them with help as they mix down a track. This a bit new territory for me but I think I can do it and make it worthwhile. Would there be any interest in that for anyone out there?

Cool! I really don't want to sound condescending, giving you books to learn, like it's no good what you've done. I've always been a fan of your talent ever since I heard "FireCross". I just love sharing knowledge if I sense someone is eager to learn. These are the books I've been studied in for jazz harmony: "Jazz Fundamentals" by Mark Levine (A great basic guide to deciphering and picking up jazz tricks and why they work. I also have his "Jazz Piano" and it's pretty awesome too) "A Chromatic Approach to Jazz Harmony and Melody" by David Liebman (this book is so fantastic to help grasp these playing out concepts) -
For anyone that doesn't have finished track right now, it's completely fine and actually kind of expected. I plan to keep the offer open for awhile. I can see doing this for months and months depending on what other jobs come up. So if you're even thinking of doing it and having something in the future, drop me a personal message explaining your situation with what you're planning. That way, I can include you in my future schedule. Take the time you need for your track, and if you even want feedback with where it's at, I'd be glad to give it.

You're at Berklee now! Cool! I've studied a bit of jazz but I couldn't hang with all the cool cats. But I'm now getting into jazz piano, myself. Guitar you can just get by with patterns but piano you really understand the mechanics better. If you're interested I can suggest some good books I have found in my studies. They're pretty popular so you might encounter them at Berklee. But you might be in overload and just want to to wait to get there. -

This is amazing! The fact that you sequenced this alone with the life it has is stellar in it of itself. It's characteristic of jazz but harmonically the jazz language and reharmonization could stand to be much more inventive. Are you actively studying jazz harmony? -
I actually did a flute choir in the beginning of my "Wild Arms" track. It's not me playing, but my awesome friend. https://soundcloud.com/jay-yaskin/end-to-a-new-beginning-chamber

this comment is obviously from a flutist! there should be an OCR flute choir...just a thought.

If you ever want to go beyond just a solo performance and produce a more full fledged arrangement with bass or guitar I want in! About to get into recording bass for your secret anime music project, over here.

Are you asking to hear my portfolio or about of my philosophy behind mixing? Because there is a general philosophy but the approach changes track to track. But I'll summarize my experience. I have done many OCR tracks of my own with many different styles, but most of these are years old and not using my current gear or expertise I've gained more recently. "The End to a New Beginning" on the Wild Arms Arrangement is my most recent (two years old) and my new mix of "Genesis of Destruction" (which will hopefully come out eventually) are the best current examples of mixing in OCR tracks. I have mixed many pop/rock/dance tracks for artists in Nashville. If you go to the mixing tab on my page you can hear a hand picked collection of my more polished mixes. Two of the most recent artists I have mixed are "The Orion Lion" and "Horses Heaven". I'll try to find some YouTube examples here. http://youtu.be/2vtg-FQKszw http://horsesheaven.com/ https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/your-ocean/id453760428 http://theorionlion.com/ You can hear my portfolio at www.audiofidelityproductions.com
