*NO* Phantasy Star 4 'Motavian Battlefield'
djpretzel replied to djpretzel's topic in Judges Decisions
delay-breaker: No Sounds like more work and a resubmission are warranted... -
delay-breaker: No I concur with the above comments.

delay-breaker: No Judges have a clear consensus on what's holding it back, which you don't always see, and obviously there were elements that were well done. Perhaps resubmission is warranted.

*NO* Phantasy Star 'The Battle of Hair Metal'
djpretzel replied to djpretzel's topic in Judges Decisions
delay-breaker: No I concur with all three judges' comments above. -
delay-breaker: No I'd like to add that this may be simply an issue of a genre - scratching and scratching alone - not really being suited to the definition of "arrangement" we have here, which involves... notes.

OCR00991 - *YES* Final Fantasy 4 'Tororian Love Song'

I'll be the final yes, this is too unique to pass up and the difficulty level at even attempting something similar is impressive. -

Cool, off to a good start! -
Definitely a change of pace. Nice voice. -djp hello! I LOVE YOUR SITE! I have downloaded about 500 megs of songs from your place and I think it is a great site and it would be an honor if you could include my song, "Tororian Love Song" which is a remake of the field music in Final Fantasy 4. Thank you so much Silent

??? -djp It's about time I got around to submitting something again. This song is a remix of the title track from Uniracers. I recently bought a copy of Kid Koala's "Carpal Tunnel Syndrome" and was inspired to try something a little different. This song was done using only my Technics SL-1200 Direct Drive Turntables and my Gemini PS-676 Pro Stereo Preamp Mixer (for the cutting and whatnot). These are my babies, I love them more than anything. With this song, I wanted to let everyone know that the turntable isn't just a means of playing music anymore - indeed, it is an instrument just like any woodwind, brass, percussion or string. I had a set goal in mind for this song - to use an unconventional means of carrying the rhythm, which was achieved by cutting a voice track in and out using just my ears for syncing everything that came afterward. Once the groundwork was laid down, I looped it and went over again, this time manipulating the drum track, and then again using a long drawn-out sample of a guitar riff being cut in and out and sped up and slowed down by the speed control on the turntables to bring out the melody of the original. Be warned though, at first it takes a trained ear to pick up on the similarities this shares with the original, as it only uses half of the original material. I just thought it would be something interesting to share with everyone, however musically viable it is. I plan on honing my skills and attempting to cover some other video game tracks as things go along. And yes, this is the first one I did using live turntables, my Sonic Water Warning revisit was actually all done on the computer. Anyway, here's the link: The name of the song is "Velcro Melted Br8kz", which kinda fits the goofy nature of the song itself, while also vying for the title of "weirdest name for an OCR song". Don't ask me why I named it this, I don't even know. I hope you enjoy this

I liked it, but that bassline is tres repetitive. -djp Title: Red Hot Tarmac Game: F-Zero Original track: Red Canyon Name: CamTarn Hopefully the mixing on this is a little bit better than my last track (Blue Steel)... although unlike Big Blue, Red Canyon doesn't really give too much to work on... email attachment sub, filename Final_Fantasy_6_BloodOnMyHands_OC_ReMix.mp3 -djp Sorry for emailing the song :> I've never submitted to OC before and am having a world of trouble uploading this thing anywhere. I hope you like the song.. It's from FF6 which I know gets remixed a lot, but I've been wanting to do this for a while. Anyway, enjoy! MrFeral

Sounds like it's prolly too close to the original -djp Hello Mr.creator! I have discovered your site not long ago and I am so happy that this kind of project exist!Very good and the site is very well made too,my compliments for your dedication to the special dimension of our past! Please let me ask your attention about a submission of a track of mine.I have made a CD(not commercialized)two years ago for the sake of satisfaction and I have also included a couple of covers of game soundtracks to glorify what has merit to.I have made a temporary link page where you can download Thunderforce V.mp3,ID3 signed as you request.I guess TF5 would be the best for submission but you can also borrow or listen to the others if you want, these are Truxton and Flashback(also good) available. My tracks are not so much "remixed" though, but of cared quality.I am looking forward to have your review especially! Here the link: If I can be included then I am Shion Tanaka, Real name Jalal, from switzerland.Mail: Ok thank you man, bye!

Heya David, Here's my input for your magnificent page. I know you hate it, and you even said that only one song at a time, so I hope you don't mind but I've got two songs to submit. Although the defence counsel would like to add that these two songs are sort of a package, meaning they go together around the same theme, just variating. Oh well, do what you gotta do. When you listen to them, you might realize what I'm talking about. Anyways, here are the links: Info:

The original song is the Phantasy Star 4 battle theme. My version is entitled "Motavian Battlefield". I have uploaded it to or, if that does not work, it can be found at . You can credit it to Andrew Aversa (but use "dj zircon") with help from Colin Eichinger ("Rebel Faction"). You can include this email, but not the website since I am still working on it. I am not sure if the song's ID tag is correct, since the full title could not fit; I had to use the second id tag type. It is about 2.4mb and in mp3 format, so I think it is acceptable by the submission guidelines. Thank you in your advance for your time, Andrew Aversa
