  1. Isn't there a policy on OCR that states remix projects need to show progress to maintain approval? The last update was over a YEAR ago.

Been pushing for this project to get completed for ages, but Juan went awol and Will is proly too busy with his career to give a shit anymore.

How about letting someone who cares about Junko Tamiya's work carry though and get this album finished? We can't let all this go to waste.

  2. Nitro Game Injection presents: Game Duels vol.1 ~ a Video Game Mashup EP

Inspired by Nitro Game Injection's Versus Month, GAME DUELS Volume 1 is a unique concept pitting three iconic characters (Cowboy, Ninja and Warrior) against each other in a VGM battle-royale. Each musician chooses two of the three protagonists (or themes), and proceed to create an arrangement mashing up two or more songs from games that fit their selected themes. The result is an EP album spanning all generations of game systems (from the C64 or the NES all the way to the XB360/PS3), and featuring arrangements of music from No More Heroes, Ninja Gaiden, Knight'n'Grail, Live-A-Live, Metal Gear Solid 3, Final Fantasy VI, Hagane, and Prince of Persia. Let the duels begin!

Hope you'll enjoy this fun little EP put together by folks over at the KNGI forums.

We'll be organizing a second volume if there's enough interest/participation.

  3. Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.... my system drive is about to die. Anybody know of a reliable harddrive cloning software for PC?

Fortunately my Gunstar workfiles are on my non-system drive, but I need my system drive to, ya know, actually use my computer. I want to clone it because reinstalling a million musical things (sound libraries and software) takes a million years and I don't have that kind of time.

Yo Jesse, sounds like you need to set up some mirror/raid drives asap. You should hit up Prophetik, as he knows a ton about fixing comp hardware.

It's always good to check the integrity of your hard-drive frequently with tools such as Crystal Disk Info. Don't wait till it's too late to salvage your files.

Oh, and a no-brainer: never clone your system partition if the reason for its failure isn't mechanical. Best of luck with this one man.

mine makes reference to Cowboy Bebop. I immediately win.
    Mine references to Batman. 8)

Cowboy Bebop is my fav anime, yet it's hard to argue with someone who can let you know he's Batman ...with music.

Srsly though, try to keep it focused on the music guys. Until a project becomes official, it's not immune to being locked.

  4. I put the finishing touches (I think) on one of my mixes, and turned it blue. Anyone else care to do the same this weekend?
Ahem, well if I may be so bold to ask, whatever happened to:
Listened, and it's all good. Feel free to take sd3 off your list, I'll blue it next update. Great work. :D
Unless of course some WAVs matter more than others. :-P
(somebody quote the art stuff in the first post of next page plz, I don't wanna double post just to do that.)
    sure, leave it to me...
Also, anyone who can do art (you can be colorblind, but you must be able to sketch), get in touch. We gotta work around a little snag in getting material for the video preview (which is not the same as the trailer), so we need more art, and we want it quick and sketchy. Feel free to pm me contact info for any artists you know that might be willing to help.
Assuming direct control of your thread to make big, bold announcements like real, manly directors with beards do.
  5. In the works, my friend.
Do you know something I don't, bro. :P
MIA status hopefully averted from me - I am error, sorry about that. My update should be quite nice, however.
I concur with that last statement. Sent you some feedback and yep you're still on. ;)

By the way, two words for everyone: TRACK TITLE.

Had I not be organized with filenames, it'd be swimming in an ocean of 'GunstarHeroes.mp3' and 'GunstarRemix.mp3' by now.

So, please guys, try to come up with proper titles for your remixes, or hit us if you want some suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Please note: the next deadline is set for November 11th 2012. See y'all there. :)

  6. What do people need to get started?

A less ambitious project, maybe?

In all seriousness MangaMan, if you need 3 separate OP just to lay down your concept, you're doing something wrong. I'd strongly suggest to refocus your effort in order to come up with something a little more manageable in terms of scope. It can be exciting to be part of something as big as what you're envisioning, but it can also be equally discouraging to watch it drag for months on end because of over-ambitious goals. You need to be realistic in regards to your ability to direct/manage and also be mindful of how credentials (or lack there of) might affect the chances of garnering sufficient interest and talent to get this (or any) album done.

    Best of luck. :)

  7. The first check-in deadline went by, and it was a great turnout. We'd like to thank everyone who made it on time. :)

You should all have received feedback on your tracks by now, but if I somehow missed someone, hit me up.

A few people went MIA however, and unless we hear from them very soon, their tracks will be re-opened.

Let us know as early as possible when you can't make a deadline. Punctuality is as important as musicianship.

Our goal can now be made clear: we aim to celebrate the game's 20th anniversary on September 2013.

Judging by the current pace and the amount of progress, it looks like we're on track to accomplish that.

The OP will be updated shortly with the next check-in date, so please take good note of that information. ;)

Lastly, communication is the lifeline of this kind of community effort. So make sure to stay in touch with us.

Have fun with your arrangement and see y'all in a couple of months.
