  1. Traditionally DAWs referred to software and hardware packages, like ProTools TDM.

Yeah this makes sense, as the workstation also need some physical working components to run properly.

I guess the term 'sequencers' would have been more appropriate on this occasion.

Don't like the word 'trackers' though, cause it would imply a limitation in what the sofware really is capable of.

2 VST insert slots per channel...what am I supposed to do with that!? Gate -> Compressor -> ohnoes!

It's pretty rad indeed! But if you're not a 'real time fx' freak, it could still help people getting started with a DAW...er, I mean a sequencer.

Even though in that case, Reaper or FL would be a more appealing alternative.

  2. Just listened to the lastest version...

Man this is one mean remix! Get you in the mood to butcher some skeletons & blue knights in dat damn dungeon!

Great atmosphere, luv the work on the synths (I'm learning the ropes myself), and the guitar leads the song in a powerful way.

My main complain, well you might not be awaiting that at this point, but I'm telling ya anyway  :

The guitar litteraly devours the rythmic pattern. Those kicks & snares need more energy!

Consider giving those drums some more impulse so they can pack as much punch as the rest of the instruments.

I can't really judge the guitar skill cuz I don't play guitar.

But it seems at some point (almost middle of the track), that the death chords de-synchronize a little bit with the tempo...

Might be me dreaming that too.

    Overall great job, it rocks.

  3. Boss and miniboss have actually already been reclaimed (by Sockpuppet5). :< If you're interested enough, you can take them as well--we already have a couple tracks that are claimed by multiple people--but I'd rather have the other tracks filled first.

And don't worry about the work I already did on it. I am more than happy to just let that project file rot.

It's okay, actually I would rather take the unclaimed tracks too. I'm commited to do as much as I can to help this project see the light.

  4. When I was young, I used to think a hardcore gamer was any guy owning a NeoGeo and playing to Fatal Fury 2 or Art of Fighting.

Today we whine for a 50$ game... but one Neo-Geo cartridge costed 400$! Who the hell could afford the price? 8-O

It doesn't get any more Hardcore than that!

  5. Thanks for the support Selios! And don't hesitate to join the fun, the more the merrier. ;-)

Anyway, I've done some sketches for the next tracks, but I won't be releasing anything this week as it's not ready yet.

Got my handz full, but In the meantime, I'm working on something for the cover...

Yes there will be a cover, and maybe even a tracklist of sorts. This is some crazy stuff goin' on here!

Well, see ya 'Treasure' fans next week with hopefully a new remix to share.

    Headdy? GO!

  6. For anyone who might be interested in the boss or miniboss tracks, I'm withdrawing my claim on them for now; I have some work done on them, but I'm not the greatest at that kind of high-energy track. I'll finish them if necessary, but someone else could definitely do a better job on them.

If some epic-orchestral remake that doesn't necessarily involves electric guitar ( again  ) interests you, I could cook something for one of these...

Or maybe we could collab? Cause it would be a waste if you've already done that much work on it.

Krow, your 'Tombstone Factory' sounds great. The overall volume is a bit loud, but I liked your interpretation. Cheers.

  7. Anything else than Mc Afee is fine, it's a friggin hog.

Glad to hear that Norton has finally improved ressource-wise.

I'll say it might be a good choice & maybe the most family-friendly of all paying AV.

Kaspersky is definitely the most effective... as well as most agressive program.

Configuration may be an issue if you're not computer savy though.

Has anyone heard of VIPRE? It seems fairly new but very effective., dunno the details.

Like Fireslash, I've used AVG on serveral machines, and it has always done what it was supposed to.

And of course the brand-new Common Sense Pack is a must-have in 2009.

  8. i dunno if this will help since it doesn't seem like you can download the sounds, but here it is anyways

    http://www.entertonement.com/collections

That's quite useful to know. Thanks for sharing po!

Actually, if you use something like Audacity, you can record all those SuperNes SFX in their 16bit glory.

That requires just a bit of additional work, but I think it's worthwhile.

Does it have to be AIM? I can install it if necessary, but I'm reluctant to allow AOL software on my computer.

Well, there's nothing wrong with being cautious sometimes...

And nice sig by the way Millipede!

  9. Is anyone truly realizing the epic proportions of this involuntary turn of events?

Zircon just saved 5 years or so worth of hardship and boosted his artistic career in just 5 minutes...

Without doing anything (beside creating awesome music of course) and without even being aware of it!

    How awesome is that?

So why bother working for Capcom now that he can work for Hollywood?

...or more precisely, Hollywood can thereby give him the credit (i.e. royalities & buisness opportunities) they ought to have given him by now. ;-)

  10. You do realize I responded positively to this one.

But surely you don't seriously consider that it would be easy to remix Sakimoto's work perfectly in the blink of an eye, do you?

I have my hands full ATM. But this is on my top priority list, cuz it's my favorite composer & one of my favorite soundtrack/game ever. I hear you KB.

  11. And here we go with more laptop issues. My favourite.

Anyway, it turns out whenever I turn on my laptop from a cold boot it decides to bluescreen halfway through loading windows. Which is a problem. I thought it might be a corrupted version of windows, so I reinstalled it (Vista x64), but nothing changed. The bluesceen only occurs on a cold boot though, after I leave the laptop off for quite a while (overnight, for example). Also, the error message it shows is never the same. I'm not sure what the problem is, and testing it is kinda difficult as it reboots fine if it's been on at all recently.

There have been a few similar problems after a cursory Google search, and some people seem to have fixed it by updating or re-flashing their BIOS. Unfortunately, Acer seems reluctant to part with any useful BIOS that I can use, so I don't really know what to do.

A few of my friends seem to think it's a mobo issue, which is not something I want to mess around with. I'm hoping it's solvable without sending it in for maintenance.

Any idea what would be causing this? I could just ignore it, since the only major consequence is that it takes longer to boot than normal, since it has to boot about 3-4 times from cold.

You gotta be a little more specific. Ok. I got a few quick questions here:

1- did you modified your bios parameters?

2- did you played with that by accident?

3- (optional) what is your laptop model?
