  1. Mailbag #2 I'm a little disappointed that the amount of emails in your inbox isn't OVER NINE-THOUSAAAAAAAND.
  2. Are there any projects scheduled before this one? Inquiring minds (IE: Me, project director for ATW) would like to know.
  3. I think coinciding with the release of a game in the franchise is the best thing you could do. I don't think it'll be overshadowed. But that's just me.
  4. ULTRA C-C-C-C-COMBOOOOOOOOOOOO So we had Maffew on. It was certifiably awesome. This weekend we'll have zircon on for an interview during our indie game special. You guys like zircon, right? Because he's a pretty cool guy. eh composes for video games and doesn't afraid of anything.
  5. According to Facebook, she's been cooking.
  6. Probably, yeah. I didn't get far enough into it to make an informed opinion.
  7. Yeah, I might've been willing to give it a shot if it weren't pay-to-play, but not now. I'll wait until it inevitably goes free-to-play like Champions Online.
  8. The only problem I can possibly see is if the Sakura Sakura is removed or changed too much, it'll be rejected on the grounds of not having enough source. It's a thin line at this point...
  9. This is true, especially since it'll be the main track used in the preview trailer.
  10. These are bad examples, because those are mainstream songs that are obviously still under copyright, with known composer credits, and (in the case of Mortal Kombat) are songs that never actually appeared in a game at all. Both 'Sakura Sakura' and Korobeiniki' don't fall under any of that. Removing Tetris is a bad idea, regardless.
  11. I've always felt these two sources sounded extremely similar despite being by different composers, but nobody has ever done a remix combining the two. That should change.
  12. Just Japan and USSR for sure. I've never been able to find confirmation that any other songs from the game are based on folk songs.
  13. I understand the reasoning behind not accepting remixes of non-VGM, but 'Korobeiniki' remixes being accepted while this is rejected for being a remix of a folk song just like most of the other Tetris remixes here is frustrating. Now I guess we just wait and see how many more from this project will get rejected. More setbacks...
  14. Even though they are both traditional folk tunes from their respective countries of origin and are in the public domain? Sure, 'Korobeiniki' may be more widely known as the Tetris theme, but it is still, at its core, a traditional tune in exactly the same vein as 'Sakura Sakura'.
  15. http://ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=32570 Someone explain the policy to me. I've read it, but I don't understand the reasoning.
  16. Zombies Humble Bundle 1 & 2 Also picked up some games from Amazon: Bioshock 2 Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 Triple Pack Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 Platinum Velvet Assassin King's Bounty Platinum Edition And some from GOG: Duke Nukem 3D: Atomic Moto Racer 2 Thank you, gift cards.
  17. Of course the AB2 version is the superior arrangement, but there wasn't a good YouTube link, until now. Thanks K.B.
  18. NGI returns tomorrow with a very special guest co-host: Maffew from Botchamania! Maff has gained internet notoriety for his videos of wrestling botches set to video game music creating an unlikely crossover of VGM and wrestling fans. He’ll be joining Larry and myself to talk about wrestling, video games, MAGFest, and whatever else we decide to talk about. It’ll be awesome. Be there!
  19. Shatter goes on sale a lot. Just wait for the next one.
  20. Been done. It would probably pass too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bp60KS0jUMM
  21. You mean the episode with me (#4) isn't even up there? WHAT IS THIS BULLSHIT
  22. Okay, so that's one. Now we need moar. Let's see some remixes from this game up on OCR.
  23. Oh man, this is excellent. Though I'd really like to hear some live piano and saxophone (the samples sound pretty good, but are still a little synthetic. We need some Anthony Lofton, Xenon Odyssey or prophetik up in this piece!) I can't deny that the arrangement is slick. An enjoyable take on a personal favorite of mine.
  24. Mirror's Edge is definitely worth the $5. The controls are slightly wonky, but once you get used to it, it's a most excellent game.
  25. I know I'm living in the past, but the Larry episode was hysterical. He and I need to conduct a hostile takeover of OCAD one of these days.
